| Contains 120
Verses – Medina |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful |
|
|
1- |
O you who believe, fulfill the promises
made (by you).
Lawful to you is (the food from the plant-eating)
beasts of cattle except that which will be read and announced to you,
hunting is not allowed while you are in the state of Ihram
(while wearing pilgrim clothing for obligatory Hadj rituals or during Umrah:
non-obligatory Hadj pilgrimage).
Of course God commands whatever
He wills. |
|
2- |
O you who believe, do not violate the
rules of rituals (ordained) by God,
nor of the Sacred Month (of
pilgrimage)
nor the animals brought for sacrifice (at the end of
the Hadj procedures),
nor the garlanded animals (marked by garlands on their necks for
sacrifice),
nor bother the people who come to the Sacred House (in Mecca),
seeking the bounty of their Lord (by trading business)
and His satisfaction. And when
you have completed the Hadj or Umrah pilgrimage, you may hunt.
And let not the hatred of some people who wished to prevent you
from the sacred Mosque,
to cause you to exceed the limits and to make you attack them.
Help each other in acts of righteousness
and pious behavior
and do not cooperate in sinful acts nor in transgression and
hostility and be God-conscious.
Indeed, God is Severe in punishment. |
|
3- |
Forbidden to you are (eating of) dead
animals (beasts not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine
(pork)
and the flesh of animal that was slaughtered (sacrificed) in the
name of other than God (such as sacrificed for idols
etc),
(also forbidden are the flesh of animals) that were strangled,
or beaten to death or fallen from height to death or by goring
of horns
and the remnant of that which was eaten by wild animals
except that one that you were able to slaughter (before its
death)
and that which was slaughtered at stone altars (to
idols).
Also forbidden is the meat if you divide it by arrows of
chance (gambling); all that is disobedience (of God).
This day,
those who reject faith, have given up hope (of destroying) your
religion, so do not be humble to them,
but be humble to Me!
This day, I have perfected your religion for you,
completed My Favor upon you
and have approved Islam for you as
the Religion (of My choice).
1
But if someone is forced in a difficult situation
(such as hunger), with no intention to sin
(to eat for example
of the above haram meat,)
then of course God is Very Forgiving, Most
Merciful (to good people). |
|
4- |
They ask you (Muhammad), what is made
lawful for them (as food).
Say: "Lawful is made for you all
kinds of clean good foods
and also lawful is what those animals and birds of
prey,
which you trained them to hunt and catch for you by the
knowledge that God gave you.
So eat anything that they may catch
for you, but do mention the name of God
on that
(when you send the dog or the prey bird to hunt and catch for you
and before eating the meat of the animals which they caught for you).
And be ever God-conscious as God indeed is Swift in reckoning. |
|
5- |
From today on lawful is made for you, all
kinds of clean good foods
and the food of those given the
Scriptures (Jews, Christians etc) is made lawful for you
and your foods
are lawful for them.
Also lawful to you are chaste women from the
believers and chaste women
from those who were given Scriptures
before you (Jews, Christians etc)
as long you give them their
due marriage-gifts (bridal gift given by husband to wife),
being
chaste, desiring them in marriage, not doing any premarital sex,
nor taking them as girl-friends.
And whoever rejects (the
regulations of) the Faith, then all his previous good deed is
wiped off and in the Hereafter,
he will be among the losers. |
|
6- |
O you who believe, when you get up to
pray, first wash your faces and your hands to the elbows,
rub
your wet hand on your heads and your feet up to the ankles.
And
if you are unclean (after sex), then first get washed clean.
But if you are ill or on a journey (unable to take bath) or if
one of you has come back from defecation (from toilet)
or you have been in
(sexual) contact with women and do not find any water (to bathe
and cleanse yourselves),
then do "Tayammum" with some clean soil
(dust),
(in this way:) Rub your faces and hands with some of that
(clean soil).
God does not want to place you in a difficult
situation, but He wants to purify you (body and soul)
and to
complete His Favor upon you, so that you become (cleansed and)
grateful. |
|
7- |
And do remember God's Favor upon you and
His Covenant (promise) that He obligated you to it when you
said:
"We heard and obeyed (Your Commands)."
And be fearful of
(violating the Commands of) God.
Indeed, God is Ever- Knowing the
inner secrets of your chests (hearts). |
|
8- |
O you who believe, stand up firmly for God
as witnesses for justice and fairness
and do not let the hatred and animosity of some people make you depart form
justice.
Be just, that is nearer to piety and be God-conscious.
Indeed God is Well Acquainted with
what you do. |
|
9- |
God has promised those who have believed
and did righteous good deeds,
that there will be forgiveness and
great reward for them. |
|
10- |
And those who have rejected and called our
Verses as lies; those will be inhabitants-companions of Hell-fire. |
|
11- |
O you who believe, remember the Favor of God
upon you, when a group of people intended
and tried to
stretch their hands and power against you, but He (God) held
back their hands from you.
So be mindful of God and in God
should the believers trust and rely. |
|
12- |
Indeed God took the Covenant from the
children of Israel (the Jews) and We appointed twelve leaders
among them.
And God said: "I am with you if you keep up regular prayers and
pay charity and believe in My Messengers,
honor and
assist them and lend a good loan in the Cause of God,
I shall
cover off your sins and admit you to the Gardens (of Paradise),
down where rivers and streams flow.
But if after this
(covenant), anyone of you disbelieves, then he has indeed gone
stray from the right way." |
|
13- |
Later because of their breaking of their
covenant-promise, We cursed them (put them off Our Mercy)
and
let their hearts (minds) get hard and stiff (with closed minds).
They often change the words (of the Scripture) from their proper
places
and neglected and missed the benefit of the Messages that
were given to them.
And you will not cease to discover deceit and
cheating from them, except a few of them.
So let them be as they are and
overlook
(their misdeeds, don't tire yourself trying to correct
and upright them, they are not correctible).
Indeed God loves
people who do good deeds. |
|
14- |
Also from people who call themselves
Christians, We took their covenant-promise (to behave),
but they
also neglected-missed the benefit of the advice they were given,
as a result (of their neglecting Our advice),
We let them stir
amongst themselves, hostility and hatred till the Day of
Resurrection
and God will inform and show them what they were doing |
|
15- |
O people of the Scripture (Jews,
Christians etc), indeed a Messenger (Muhammad) has come to you,
explaining to you a lot of points that you have been hiding from
the Scripture 2
and to keep you off from a lot of mistakes.
Indeed a
light (prophet Muhammad) and an Explaining, Clarifying Book (the
Quran) have reached you,
(so take advantage of this guidance),
|
|
16- |
With which God will guide those who seek
His Satisfaction, to the ways of true inner peace
and to get
them out of darknesses of ignorance into the light (of truth) by
His Will and Permission
and to guide them to the straight correct way (of
life). |
|
17- |
Certainly those who claimed that God is
the Messiah, son of Mary, have indeed committed disbelief.
(O
Muhammad) say: "If He (God) had
intended to destroy the Messiah, son of Mary and his mother
and
all who have been on earth, altogether, then who has any power
against God,?!"
And to God alone
belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever
is between them.
He creates what (and how) He wills and God is Powerful over all things. |
|
18- |
Also the Jews and Christians claimed: "We
are the children of God and His loved one."
Tell them: "Why then
does he punish you for your sins? (you are not His loved ones or
His children).
But you are only human beings, like others that
He has created.
He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He
wills.
And only to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and
the earth and whatever is between them
and to Him is the final
destination of all." |
|
19- |
O people of the Scripture, now has come
to you indeed Our Messenger,
who explains to you (the truth),
after a break in the series of Messengers, so that you won't
have any excuse to say:
"(on the Judgment Day, that) we had no
one giving us the good news or any warning."
But now has come to
you a bringer of good news (for good people, doing good deeds)
and a warner (to bad people) and God is Powerful over all
things. |
|
20- |
And (be reminded) when Moses said to his
people:
"O my people, remember the Favor of God to you, when he
placed prophets among you,
and made you kings and gave you what
He had not given anyone among the people of the world (in the
past), |
|
21- |
"O my people! Enter the holy land which
God has prescribed for you and do not turn back (fleeing),
for
then you will become the losers." |
|
|
22- |
They said: "O Moses, in there, there are heavy
handed oppressors, and we shall never enter it till they leave
it,
and if they leave from there, then we enter." |
|
23- |
From among those who feared, two men on whom
God had granted His grace, said:
3
"Enter into their midst through
the gate (of the town) and when you have entered it, then you
will be victorious;
and in God you should trust and rely, if you
are true believers". |
|
24- |
(the people) Said: "O Moses, we shall
never enter it, as long as they are there.
So you and your Lord
go and fight them, we are sitting right here." |
|
25- |
He (Moses) said: "O my Lord, I have only
power over myself and my brother (Aaron),
therefore please
separate us from this disobedient folk." |
|
26- |
(God) said: "Therefore (this holy land) is
forbidden to them for forty years;
meanwhile they will be
wandering through the land.
So don't be sorry for the
rebellious, disobedient people. |
|
27- |
Also read to them (o Muhammad), the true
story of the two sons of Adam (Abel and Cain);
when each
offered a sacrifice, wanting to be closer to God,
then it was
accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other
one.
The latter (Cain) said to the former (Abel): "I will surely
kill you!"
The former (Abel) said: "God indeed accepts only
deeds from the God-conscious pious ones," |
|
28- |
"If you stretch your hand towards me to kill
me, I will never stretch my hand towards you to kill you;
as I fear God, Lord of the worlds and of all that exist". |
|
29- |
"I want to let you draw unto yourself my
sins and your sins (if you kill me),
then you will be one of the
inhabitants of Hell-fire and that is the punishment of evildoers." |
|
30- |
So the selfish mind of the latter (Cain),
made the killing of his brother (Abel) seem fair enough to him,
then he
murdered him and became one of the losers. |
|
31- |
Then God sent a crow to scratch the
ground to show him how to bury the corpse of his brother.
He
(the murderer) said:
"Woe to me, am I not even able like this
crow, to know then that I should bury the dead body of my
brother?"
He then became of those ever regretful. |
|
32- |
On the basis of this (first murder), We
decreed (also) to the children of Israel that:
"if anyone killed a
person not for direct retaliation of a murder or because of
spread of mischief in the land,
then it is as if he killed the
entire humanity
and when someone saves a life, it is as if he
saved the lives of all people",
and indeed our prophets came to
them with clear evidences (of guidance),
but then even after
that, many of them keep on transgressing the limits (set by God)
in the land! |
|
33- |
Certainly the punishment of those who
wage war against God ('s religion) and His Messenger
and make
efforts doing mischief in the land that they shall be killed or
crucified
or (parts of) their hands and their feet be cut off
from opposite sides or be exiled from the land.
That is to their
disgrace in this world and in the Hereafter, they will have a
great suffering,
4 |
|
34- |
Except those who repent, before you
overpower them.
And know that God is Very Forgiving, Most
Merciful (to good people). |
|
35- |
O you who believe, be God-conscious and
pious and seek means of approaching Him
(such as by prayer and
perseverance in remembering Him and following the advice of God
and His prophet Muhammad)
and strive hard in His Cause, so that
you become successful. |
|
36- |
Indeed those who disbelieve, if they had
all that is on earth and double that much with it,
to give it as
ransom, to save them from the torment of the Day of
Resurrection,
it would not be accepted from them and they will
have a painful suffering |
|
37- |
They wish to get out of the Fire, but
they are not going to get out of it and they will have lasting
torment. |
|
38- |
As to the male thief and the female
thief, then (when proven to be habitual thieves),
cut their
hands as a punishment for what they committed, as an exemplary
punishment from God.
And God is All Powerful;
All Wise Commander. 5 |
|
|
39- |
And whoever repents after his wrong doing
and makes good (by giving back the stolen property),
then God
will pardon him (accept his repentance), as God is Very
Forgiving, Most Merciful |
|
40- |
Don't you know that to God alone belongs
the dominion of the heavens and the earth?!
He punishes whom
(and how) He wills and He forgives whom He wills
and God is
Able-powerful over all things (setting measures of rewards and
punishments on all matters). |
|
41- |
O you Messenger (Muhammad), do not let those
who insist on disbelief, make you sad by their behavior,
those who by
their mouth say: "We believe", but their hearts do not believe
and
those from the Jews who listen a lot to promote lies, listen a
lot (as spies) for
other people,
who have not met you yet (but keep on
telling lies about you)
they change the words from their proper
original places (to fool people and to tell lies), saying:
"If
you are given this (decree by Muhammad, the way we want), then
take it,
but if you are not given this (the way that we want), then
keep away from it".
And whom God wants to let in error (as they insist on
it),
then you have no power to do anything against God's
decision, to save him.
Those are the ones that God has no
intention to purify their hearts (from disbelief and hypocrisy),
for them, there will be disgrace and humiliation in this world
and in the Hereafter, they will have a major suffering. |
|
|
42- |
They listen and spy a lot to promote
lies, they consume and use a lot of anything forbidden
(such as usury,
bribes, undeserved money from people, peoples land by force
etc).
So if they come to you (Muhammad, for judgment), either
judge between them, or turn away from them.
If you turn away
from them, they can not harm you the least.
And if you judge,
judge between them with justice and fairness, as God loves those
who act justly and fairly. |
|
|
43- |
But (think) how come that they ask your judgment and decision,
whereas they have the Torah (Codes of
Law of the Scripture), in which there are the Commandment of God;
Then even after that (ruling by you or the Torah) they turn away, because
they are not true believers. |
|
44- |
Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which
there has been guidance and light,
by which the prophets,
who
submitted their wills to God, judged for the Jews.
And the
rabbis and the priests (also judged) by that (part) of the Book,
which they tried to preserve and they bore witness to it.
7
Therefore do not fear and humble yourself before people, but be
in Awe of Me and fear disobeying Me.
And do not sell my Verses cheap (don't
abandon My Commandments, to gain worldly position and wealth),
as
(you should know that) those who do not judge by God's
ordinances and rules, which He sent down,
they are really
disbelievers. |
|
|
45- |
We also ordained in it (the Torah) for
them: "Life for life (in case of murder), eye for eye, nose for
nose,
ear for ear, tooth for tooth and also for inflicting
wounds, should be similar retaliation.
But then if anyone
forgives, it will be counted as a wipe off of his sins (by God)
and those who do not pass judgment according to the rules that
God has sent down in Revelations,
they are wrongdoing oppressors." |
|
46- |
Following those (prophets), We sent Jesus,
son of Mary, confirming that which was available to him of the Torah
and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and
was confirming, at its time,
that which was available of the Torah and it was a guidance and
advisory for God-conscious pious people. |
|
47- |
And let the people of Gospel, judge by
what God had revealed in it
and whoever does not pass judgment
according to the Rules that God sent down, such people are
disobedient rebels. |
|
48- |
And We have sent down the Book (Quran) to
you (Muhammad), in truth,
confirming that which remains of the
Scriptures and guarding (keeping) it safely.
So judge among them
according to what God has revealed down
and do not follow their
desires,
diverting from the truth that has come to you.
To each
of you (Jews, Christians, Muslims), We have given a code of Law
and Behavior (way of life).
If God had wanted, He would have
made you all one nation,
but He wants to test you in (how you use)
what He has given you.
So compete in good deeds.
To God shall be
the return of all of you and He will then inform you (on the
Resurrection Day)
about the truth of the matters in which you
had differences of opinion. |
|
49- |
And so judge among them according to what
God has revealed
and do not follow their desires
and beware of
them,
otherwise they would divert you from some of what God has
revealed to you.
And if they turn away (from obeying your judgment),
then know that God intends to inflict them
with (the
results) of some of their sins
and indeed many people are very
disobedient (to God). |
|
|
50- |
Do they seek the judgment (of the days)
of Ignorance (the time of idolatry)?
And who is better than God
in judgment, for people who have firm belief? |
|
|
51- |
O you who believe, do not take Jews and
Christians as friends-defenders,
some of them are
friend-defenders of each others.
And if anyone from amongst you
(Muslims) takes (accepts) them as friends-defenders, then he is
regarded as one of them.
Truly God does not guide the unjust
wrongdoing oppressors. |
|
52- |
And you notice that those in whose heart
there is the disease (of hypocrisy),
hurry up to their
friendship, saying: "We fear some misfortune would hit us (if we
don't make friendship with them)."
But then God may bring about victory or a decision by His will (in
favor of Muslims),
then they (these opportunist people) become
regretful for what they had been hiding in themselves as
secrets. |
|
|
53- |
And those who believe will say:
"Are
these the ones (hypocrites), who swore their strongest oaths by
God, that they were with you (Muslims)?"
All that they
accomplished, became in vain (because of their hypocrisy), then
they have become the losers. |
|
54- |
O you who believe, whoever from amongst
you would turn back from his religion (Islam),
(should know
that) God will bring up (a better) people whom He loves and they
love Him,
being humble towards the believers, firm against the
disbelievers,
who fight in the Cause of God and don't fear the
blame of any bickering person.
That is the Grace of God which He
grants to whomever He wants
and God is The Spreader of Grace,
the All-Knowing. |
|
55- |
In fact your true friend-defenders are God
and His Messenger and those who believe,
those who keep up prayers and pay Zakat (charity to poor people) as they are
bowing themselves (in prayer)
8 |
|
56- |
And whoever turns to God, His Messenger
(Muhammad) and those who have believed, as his
friends-defenders,
then (he has joined the party of God and)
certainly the party of God will be the victorious. |
|
57- |
O you who believe, do not take as
friends-defenders those who mock and make fun of your religion
from among those who received the Scriptures before you (the
Jews and Christians) nor from the disbelievers
and beware of
disobeying God if you are true believers. |
|
58- |
And when you call for prayer, they mock
and make fun of it;
that is because they are people who have no
understanding of truth. |
|
59- |
Say: "O people of the Scripture (Jews and
Christians),
do you criticize us for no other reason than that
we believe in God and in the Revelations that was sent down to
us
and in that which was sent down before (to previous prophets)
and that because most of you are really disobedient rebels (to
God's commandments)?" |
|
60- |
Say: "Shall I inform you of something
worse than that, regarding the punishment from God?
Those who
incurred the Curse of God and He had His wrath on them
and made
monkeys and swine out of them (by their poor character),
also
the servants of false gods (idols, kings etc), such are in worse
position and even more astray from the right path." |
|
61- |
When they came to you, they said: "We
believe.",
but in fact they came in with (an attitude of)
disbelief and they went out (from your presence) with the same
attitude
and God knows best what they have been hiding. |
|
62- |
And you notice that many of them (Jews
and Christians) make efforts in sinful and hostile activities
and their consuming and eating up illegal funds (such as usury,
bribe, frivolous lawsuits etc);
evil indeed is what they are
doing! |
|
63- |
Why do the rabbis and their (religious)
educated people not forbid and stop them from saying sinful
words
(in conversations and in the public media) and stop them
from consuming illegal money?
Evil is indeed that which they
bring up and fabricate.

|
64- |
The Jews said: “God's Hand is tied up
(does not give of His Bounty).”
Their own hands will be tied up and they are being cursed for what they said.
Not so (what they say), God's
Hands are widely stretched, He spends of His bounty as He wants.
And to many of them, the Revelation that is sent down to you
from your Lord, causes increase in their rebellion and disbelief
and
that way, We have thrown amongst them hostility and hatred till
the Day of Resurrection.
Every time they started a fire of war, God extinguished it.
They strive to make mischief on earth
and God does not like the
trouble-makers.
13 |
|
65- |
But if the people of Scripture (Jews and
Christians, etc) had believed
and kept off from doing evil and had become
pious, We would indeed have covered off their sins (of the past)
from them
and would certainly have admitted them to blissful
Gardens (of Paradise). |
|
66- |
If only they had acted according to the Torah
and the Gospel,
and what has been sent to them from their Lord (the Quran),
they would certainly have received provisions and blessings from
above them and from below their feet
(blessings from the sky above and the earth below their feet).
From
among them, there are folks who are moderate and on the course
(of Revelations),
but many of them, what they do, is evil! |
|
67- |
O Messenger (Muhammad), proclaim what has
been sent down to you from your Lord.
9
And if you do not
(proclaim all), then you have not conveyed His Message.
(Don't worry about proclaiming it,) God will protect you from
people ('s harm).
Indeed God does not guide people who disbelieve. |
|
68- |
(O Muhammad) say:
“O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians, etc),
you
have nothing (in guidance) unless you uphold and act according to the Torah
and the Gospel
and what has been sent down to you (Muhammad, the Quran)
from your Lord,
but (as said), that which has been sent down to
you from your Lord,
increases in many of them rebellion and
disbelief (in God's words).
So don't be sorry for people who
disbelieve. |
|
69- |
Surely, those who believe (in the One God
and His Messenger Muhammad) and those who are Jews
and the Sabians (the followers of John) and the Christians,
whoever
has believed in the One God and the Last Day (Judgment), and did
righteous work,
on them shall be no fear, nor shall they be sad
(in the Hereafter). |
|
70- |
Indeed, We took the covenant (promise) of
the Children of Israel (the Jews)
and sent Messengers to them
(to follow the way of God).
Every time a Messenger came to them,
who was not in line with their personal desires,
a gang of them
called (them as) liars and a gang of them even killed (the Messengers), |
|
71- |
And they thought that there would be no
trial (for their evil acts),
so they became blind and deaf (to the truth from God),
still God turned on them (with guidance),
yet
many of them continued to be blind and deaf and God is
All-Observant of what they do. |
|
72- |
Certainly those who disbelieved, said:
"God is the Messiah, son of Mary."
But the Messiah (Jesus) said:
"O children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord."
Of course
anyone who sets partners (in worship) with God, then God has
forbidden Paradise to him
and his place shall be the (Hell-)
Fire.
And there won't be any helpers to the wrongdoers (polytheists). |
|
73- |
Surely those who disbelieved said: “God
is the third part of the three (in Trinity).”
But truly there is
no one worthy of worship except the One Unique God
and if they
don't stop what they are saying, certainly a painful suffering
will befall those of them who disbelieved
(by their believing in Trinity). |
|
|
74- |
Will they not turn to God in repentance
and ask His Forgiveness?
For God is Very forgiving, Most Merciful
(to good people, who repent). |
|
|
75- |
The Messiah, son of Mary was no more than
a Messenger, before whom passed many Messengers
and his mother
was a truthful person, they both used to eat food
(like other
human beings, whereas God needs no food or anything else).
Look
how clearly We present the Revelations to them,
then look how
they are turned away (by priests and others from the truth)! |
|
76- |
Say (to them o Muhammad),
“Do you worship
besides God, something that has no power either to benefit or
harm you?
But it is God, Who is the only All-Hearing, All-knowing"
10 |
|
|
77- |
Say: “O people of Scripture (Jews, Christians
and Muslims),
do not exaggerate in matters of your religion away
from the truth
11
and do not follow the vain desires of people who
really went wrong before
and they misled many and went astray
badly from the right path.” |
|
78- |
Those, who among the Children of Israel
disbelieved (and believed in others as partners to God)
were
cursed by the tongue of David and Jesus, son of Mary.
This was
because they used to disobey, exaggerate and to transgress the
limits, |
|
79- |
They used not to forbid one another from
wrongdoing
(such as disbelief, believing in more than One God,
doing sinful acts),
as they committed (those evils) themselves.
How really evil they
behaved. |
|
|
80- |
You can see many of them taking those who disbelieved (such as their supposed saints, who believed in
Trinity etc)
as their (patron saints or protectors).
Evil is indeed what they have sent before them (by
teaching people wrong thing and misleading them);
12
for which
God's wrath is upon them and they will stay in
suffering forever. |
|
81- |
And had they (the Jews and Christians)
believed in the One God and in the truth of the prophet
(Muhammad)
and in (the Quran) that has been revealed to him,
they would never have taken them
(the saints or anyone else but God) as patron
protectors",
but many of them are disobedient (to the One God
and take others as imaginary protectors instead of God). |
|
82- |
Indeed you will find people with most
severe hostility towards the believers (Muslims), to be the Jews
and those who ascribe partners to God (idol worshippers, those
who do not believe in the Oneness of God)
and you will find the
closest in sympathy to the believers, to be those say: "We are
Christians."
That is because amongst them, there are learned
priests and monks (who are humble) and they do not seek
arrogance. |
|
83- |
And when they heard what was sent to the
Messenger (Muhammad),
you would see their eyes overflow with
tears because of the truth that they recognized.
They say: "Our Lord, we have believed; so please write us down with among the
witnesses (of the truth)", |
|
84- |
"And why shouldn't we believe in God and that which has come to us of the truth (Quran)?,
and we wish
that our Lord would admit us (in Paradise) together with the righteous
people." |
|
85- |
So, because of what they said, God
rewarded them Gardens (of Paradise) under which flow rivers,
they will be there forever and such is the reward of good
achieving ones. |
|
86- |
But those who disbelieved and belied Our
Verses and Lessons of Revelations, they shall be the inhabitants
of the Hell. |
|
87- |
O you who believe, do not forbid the good
clean things and items that God made lawful for you
and also do
not trespass (God's Rules), as indeed God does not like
trespassers. |
|
88- |
And do eat of the lawful, good pure things
that God has provided for you
and be ever conscious in awe of God in Whom you believe. |
|
89- |
God will not hold you responsible for
unintentional uttering of your oaths,
but He holds you
responsible for your having made deliberate ones.
Thus (if you break
your oaths,) the amendment (to make good,)
is feeding ten poor
persons on the average kind of foods that you feed your own
families,
or clothe them or freeing a slave.
But if someone
can not afford it, then should fast for three days;
that is to
amend the oaths that you had sworn (and did not keep),
therefore
keep on to your oaths.
This way, God explains to you His Verses
and Lessons, so that you might be grateful. |
|
90- |
O you who believe, all intoxicants
(alcohol and other narcotic substances),
gambling and sacrifices for idols and playing luck by arrows are an ugly kind of Satan's
act.
So avoid them, in order to be happy and successful. |
|
91- |
Of course, Satan wants to incite hostility
and hatred between you by the use of intoxicants and by gambling
and keep you off remembering God and away from praying.
So are
you going to abstain? |
|
92- |
And obey God the Messenger (Muhammad) and
be mindful (of drinking and gambling).
But if you turn
away (from this advice), then know that Our Messenger has the
duty of clear explanation (of the Message) |
|
93- |
There is no sin for those who believe and
do righteous good works, for what they consumed before,
as long
as they do avoid forbidden things, do believe and do righteous
good works
and keep on avoiding forbidden items, believe (that
they should avoid them)
and became pious and behaved well.
And God loves people who
do good and are nice (to people). |
|
94- |
O you who believe, God will certainly
test you with a situation of game hunting
(during the time of Haj that is for bidden),
where your hands and your lances can
reach it, so that God may test who fears Him (fears disobeying
Him),
undetected and unseen (by others).
So whoever after this rule trespasses, there will be a painful suffering for him. |
|
95- |
O you who believe, do not kill the game
(-animals) while you are in the state of Ihram (in the process of Haj
rituals)
and whoever of you does kill it intentionally, then the penalty
shall be an animal of the like that he killed,
the
size and condition of which should be judged by two just men from among
yourselves,
to be brought to Kaaba (for people to eat)
or for blotting
(the sin of that forbidden act of hunting while doing Haj),
he should feed poor persons or equivalent of that to fast
(for as many days that he could consume that amount of food),
so that he may taste (get) the gravity of
his act.
God has forgiven what was done in the past (before this
ruling),
but whoever repeats it, then God will take revenge on
him and God is the All-Mighty Retributing. |
|
96- |
Fishing and seafood is lawful for you, it
is a benefit for you and those who travel,
but hunting game animals during Ihram (in the process of doing Haj rituals)
is forbidden,
and do
avoid disobeying God, to whom you shall ultimately be gathered. |
|
|
97- |
God has made the Kaaba, the Sacred House,
a means of support and uprightness for people,
as well as the
sacred month (of Haj for meditation and worship) and the
offering of animals (for people to eat)
and the garlands that
mark them (for offering),
(are all for the purpose of
realization by people),
so that you may come to know that God
knows all that is occurring in the Heavens
and all that
is and is occurring on in the Earth
and that God is All-Knowing
of each and every thing. |
|
98- |
Know that God is indeed Severe in
punishment (to bad people) and also Very Forgiving, Most Merciful
(to good people) |
|
99- |
For the Messenger (Muhammad) is only the
duty of conveying (the Message of God).
And God knows what you
reveal and what you hide. |
|
100- |
(O Muhammad) Say: The corrupt and the
pure and good are not equal,
even if the high number of corrupt
(people, their wealth and their acts etc.) would make you
wonder.
So (mind the quality, not only the quantity) then beware
of (disobeying) God,
o people of reason, so that you may be
successful and happy. |
|
101- |
O you who believe, do not ask about
(petty little) things, which if explained to you in detail,
would cause you trouble.
But if you keep on asking about them
while the Quran is being revealed, they will be explained to
you.
God has forsaken them (those kind of nitty-gritty questions)
and God is Very Forgiving and Most Forbearing
(patient). |
|
102- |
People before your time asked about
those things, then on that account they became disbelievers
(because they could not understand it, so don't repeat past
people's mistakes). |
|
103- |
God did not establish rules for things
like "Bahirah" or "Saibah" or "wasilah" or "Haum"
(animals not
to be used in honor of idols by Arab idol worshippers),
but the
unbelievers make up these lies against God
and most of them have
no understanding (they just follow the crowd). |
|
104- |
And when they are told: "Come to what
God has sent as Message and to the Messenger".
They would say: "For us, that which we found our fathers
(forefathers) following,
is enough",
even though their fathers had no knowledge at all,
nor any guidance. |
|
105- |
O you who believe, take care of your own
selves.
If you follow the guidance (of God), those who are in
error, can not harm you.
Ultimately your return is to God,
altogether, then He will inform you of what you have been doing. |
|
106- |
O you who believe, when death is
approaching anyone of you, while you make a will,
(then take the
testimony of) two just men of your own folks or two others from
outside your family,
if you are in travel and death is coming on
you.
Keep them (the two witnesses) after the prayer,
then if you
are in doubt (about their truthfulness), then they should
swear by God, saying:
"We won't deviate from truth of this testimony at any
price,
even though the beneficiary were a close relative of ours and we
shall not hide the testimony to God,
as
we would then certainly be otherwise sinful." |
|
107- |
Then if it is found later that the two
witnesses had been guilty of (perjury) sin, and therefore found not
trustworthy,
let two others stand in their places, from among those whose rights had
been suppressed,
who are deserving to be nearest in kin.
Then have them
swear by God (saying): "We claim that our testimony is more
truthful than theirs
and that we have not trespassed the truth, otherwise we would then certainly be unjust, wrong-doers." |
|
108- |
That way is more practical and probable
that their testimony would fear
that other oaths would replace
their oaths afterwards.
And beware of God and listen (to His
Commands).
And God does not guide people who disobey him. |
|
109- |
On the Day (of Resurrection), when God
will gather the Messengers and say to them;
"What kind of
response did you receive (from the people you taught)?"
They will say:
"We have no knowledge, only you are the All Knowing of all that is
hidden (and invisible). |
|
110- |
(Remember) when God said: "O Jesus, son
of Mary, remember My Favor to you and your mother,
when I supported
you by the holy spirit (angel Gabriel),
so that you could speak
to people while still in cradle and on into maturity and when I
taught you the Book and wisdom,
the Torah and the Gospel and
when you fashioned out of clay a figure of a bird, by My
permission,
then you breathed into it, then it became a bird by
My permission,
and you healed those born-blind and the lepers,
by My permission,
and when you brought up the dead into life, by
My permission
and when I held back the Children of Israel (the
Israelites) from you (when they had decided to kill you),
as you
brought them clear Verses and Miracles and the disbelievers
among them said:
"This is nothing but obvious magic." |
|
111- |
And when I (God) inspired the disciples
(of Jesus) to believe in Me and My messenger (Jesus),
they
said: "We believe and bear witness that we are Muslims
(submitting our will to God). " |
|
112- |
(Remember) when the disciples said:
"O
Jesus, son of Mary, could your Lord send down to us a Dinner
Table from the heaven?".
He (Jesus) said: "Be aware of God!, if you
are real believers". |
|
113- |
They said: We wish to eat of that and to
assure our hearts (in faith)
and know that you really have told
us the truth and that we would be witnesses to its truth." |
|
114- |
Jesus, son of Mary prayed saying: "O our
Lord, send us a Dinner table with food from the heaven,
so it
would be a festival for the first and the last ones of us and a
sign from you;
and provide us with sustenance (provision of
nutrition and spiritual food for thought),
for you are the Best
of sustainers (providers). |
|
115- |
God said: "I am sending it to you, but
if after that any of you disbelieves or is ungrateful,
I shall
certainly punish him with such a punishment that I have not
given to any of the people of the world before. |
|
116- |
Also (remember) when God said: "O Jesus, son of Mary,
did you tell
people:
'Take me and my mother as two gods, aside from God?' "
He
responded: "Glory to you, Who Are Beyond all this. I would
never dare to say such a thing that I have no right (to say).
If I had
said such a thing, you surely would have known it.
You know what
is in my soul, but I do not know what is in You.
Certainly You
Alone are the All-Knowing of all the hidden secrets," |
|
117- |
"I did not tell them anything except that which
You
commanded me to say, that:
'Worship God, my Lord and your Lord',
And I was a witness over them, while I stayed amongst them,
but after You took me up, You have been watching over them and You
are Witness over all things;" |
|
118- |
"If You punish them, they are Your own
creatures and if You forgive them, truly You are the Almighty,
All Wise." |
|
119- |
God says: "This is the Day, on which
the truthful people will benefit from their truthfulness;
theirs
are Gardens under which rivers and streams flow (in Paradise), remaining in there forever.
God has been pleased with them and they
are pleased with Him.
That is the great success!" |

To God belongs the dominion of the
heavens (galaxies) and the earth
and all that is in those
and He
is the All-Powerful over all things. |

This verse was revealed after the prophet Muhammad
recommended Ali as his successor

In the Church jargon, they
call it Apocrypha: Concealment of parts of the Scriptures

Their name: yusha and
kalab
4
Meaning also cutting off
their social power and influence right and left to disable them and to
stop them from doing further mischief. The degree of punishment shall be
to the degree of mischief
5
Cutting
the hands does not necessarily means
cutting off the hands. It can also means partial cut,
such as when one cuts his hand while cutting something in the kitchen
(such as meat). There are degrees of theft and the punishment should be
according to the degree of the offense The degree of
cut shall be to the degree of the theft, as an effective deterrent to
stealing "O.P.M": other peoples Money and property
7
History
tells us that when king Nebukednezzar sacked the town of Jerusalem and
took the Jews captive to Babylon, he also burned all Scriptures.
Thereafter the Rabbis tried to preserve much of it by memory, which led
to certain rewriting mistakes, through centuries
8
Many commentators refer this to when Ali-ibne-Abitalib gave his ring
in the mosque to a beggar who approached him, while he was bowing down
in prayer
9
Many commentators refer this order to the prophet (PBUH)
to proclaim his successor, after his death to manage the affairs of the
Muslim Nation
10
Pray only to God Who hears your prayer, knows all your needs and
answers your needs and answers your prayers. Don't pray to anything or
anyone else

usually strive for superiority at any cost, including trespassing other
peoples rights and thus causing disasters to themselves repeatedly and
many of them still are doing it
