The Heights of Recognition  -   Chapter 7
|
Contains 206 Verses – Mecca   |

|

|

|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

| 1- | Alif Lam Mim sad (from Allah to Muhammad,
peace be upon him). |

|

| 2- | (This is) the Book (the Quran), sent to
you (Muhammad), so your chest (be at ease and) not suffering
from it, so that you (be able to) warn (bad people) by it and
(it will ever be) as a reminder for the believers.
|

|

| 3- | (O people:) Follow that which has been
sent down to you from your Lord and do not follow any other
masters (of ideologies), other than Him.
So little do you people
care.
|

|

| 4- | And what great numbers of towns We
destroyed (for their crimes), Our punishment came upon them
during the night or as they were having the midday nap.
|

|

| 5- | And when Our punishment came to them, their cry
was none other than, saying: "We really were
wrong-doing people."
|

|

| 6- | Then surely We shall question people to
whom (the Book) was sent and certainly We shall question the Messengers (about those people).
|

|

| 7- | Then of course, We shall tell them the
stories of their deeds by Our Knowledge, as We had never been absent. |

|

| 8- | On that Day (of Judgment), the weighing
of deeds shall be by truth. Then whoever's good deeds weigh
heavy, those will be the successful and happy (entering Paradise).
|

|

| 9- | And whoever's deeds would be light and
lowly, those are the people who lost their values and
personalities, since they kept denying and rejecting Our Verses
(of guidance).
|

|

| 10- | And We have indeed given you capabilities
and authorities on earth and provided livelihood for you in it. So little you thank (for all the blessings).
|

|

| 11- | And We surely created you, then shaped you
(as humans, with spirit), then We said to the angels: "Bow down
with your knees and heads on the ground for (the creation of) Adam".
So all bowed down with their knees and heads on the ground
except Iblis
(Satan), who was not among those who were bowing down.
|

|

| |

| 12- | (God) said: "(O Satan-Iblis,) what kept
you from bowing down when I commanded you?" (Satan) said: "I am
better than him (Adam), you created me from fire and him from
soil, clay."
|

|

| 13- | (God] Said: "Get down from this (high
position), as you have no right to be arrogant in it. So get
out, since you are (from now on) of those to remain humiliated."
1
|

|

| 14- | Satan said: "Allow me time till the Day
(of Judgment) when they (humans) are raised up"
2 |

|

| 15- | (God) said: "You are of those given
time". |

|

| 16- | Satan said: "Because You sent me astray, I shall sit and wait (to mislead) them (the humans) away from
your straight, correct way (of life),"
|

|

| 17- | Then also I will come in front of them
(with evil suggestions) and from behind them, from their right
and from their left and you will not find the majority of them
as thankful."
|

|

| 18- | (God) said: "Get out from it (from this
standing as you are being)
disgraced and expelled, whoever follows you, I will
surely fill the Hell with all of you."
|

|

| 19- | "And now O Adam, you and your spouse live
in the Garden and eat of whatever you wish, but do
not approach this specific tree, as then you would be of the
wrong-doers."
|

|

| |

| 20- | Then Satan started to whisper suggestions to
both of them, in order to uncover their private (pubic) parts which were covered and hidden (to humiliate them);
he said: "Your
Lord has forbidden this tree for you, only to prevent you from
becoming angels or immortals."
|

|

| 21- | And he (the Satan) swore even telling
them (humans) that: "I certainly am a well-wishing advisor for
both of you."
|

|

| |

| 22- | So he misled them with deception. Then when
they both tasted the (fruit of the) tree, suddenly their private
parts become visible to them
and they began to cover themselves
with leaves of the garden (to cover the shame and mend
the situation).
And their Lord called them both:
"Did I not
forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan truly is an
openly known enemy of yours?"
|

|

| 23- | They said: "Our Lord, we have wronged
ourselves, and if you would not forgive us and not have Mercy on
us, we would certainly be of the losers"
|

|

| 24- | (God) said: "Get down (from this
protected, blessed environment), some of you (people) will
become enemy of others,
and on earth, there will be your dwelling-place
and enjoyment for a limited period of time."
|

|

| 25- | He said: "You shall live there and die
there and from it you shall be brought out (at Resurrection
time)." |

|

| |

| 26- | O Children of Adam, We have granted down
to you covering to protect your (integrity and) pubic parts and as an adornment, however the cover and shield of
God-consciousness
is better and more important (for your protection).
These are some of the
Verses (Of guidance) of God, so that they might remember and pay
attention to.
|

|

| |

| 27- | O Children of Adam, do not let Satan
deceive you, as he deceived and got your parents (Adam and Eve) out of the
Garden,
stripping them from their
covers, to show them their private parts (to humiliate them).
Indeed, he and his army of followers see you from locations and
positions that you can not see them.
We have indeed let satans
(devils) be friends and helpers of those who do not believe
(in
God, the Hereafter and the Messengers).
|

|

| 28- | And when they committed any evil act, they said:
"We found our fathers doing the same and God ordered us to do
it." Say: "God never orders evil acts, are you (again) saying
about God something that you do not know?"
|

|

| 29- | Say: "My Lord ordered justice and
fairness and that you uphold your attention only to Him in every
place of worship and that you call Him sincerely and wholeheartedly as the true
religion is directed only to Him.
Just as
He brought you into being, (to Him) you shall return.
|

|

| 30- | He has guided a large group
and another
large group deserved to stay in confusion and error, since they
chose evil people as their friends-protectors-patrons instead of
God
and they think that they are correctly guided.
|

|

| 31- | O Children of Adam, take and put on your
nice things and adornments when you are to be at any mosque and
place of worship and eat and drink, but do not overdo and waste,
since God really does not like wasteful people.
|

|

| |

| 32- | (O Muhammad) Say: "Who has forbidden nice
things and adornment (good clean clothes, etc) that God has
produced for His servants, also clean lawful foods?"
Say: "They are for people who believe, for use in this world
and
exclusively designed for them only in the Day of Resurrection."
Thus We explain the Verses (of guidance) in detail for people
who have knowledge.
|

|

| |

| 33- | Say: "Certainly my Lord has forbidden:
all evil, sinful acts (such as illegal sex), be they openly
committed or secretly; also sins and oppression, without any right,
and
that you associate any partner to God, to which He has of course
not sent down any authority or permission
and to say about God,
something that you do not know."
|

|

| 34- | And for every nation, there is an
appointed final time and when their time comes, neither can they delay it for an
hour, nor can they hasten it (to make it happen sooner).
|

|
| |

| 35- | (From the beginning, God said:) O children of Adam,
whenever Messengers
come to you from amongst you , reading to
you My Verses, then whoever becomes God-conscious
and does righteous good work,
on them there shall not be any fear, grief or sadness.
|

|

| 36- | But those who reject Our Verses and treat
them arrogantly, those are the inhabitants of the (Hell-) Fire,
in which they remain forever.
|

|

| |

| 37- | Now then who is more unjust than the one
who produces a lie against God or rejects His Verses, claiming them to be lies?
For such people, their due portion of
livelihood and good things will continue to reach them (in this
world),
as
decided in the Book (of God's Decisions), until our messengers
(angels of death) come to take their souls,
saying: "Where are
those whom you used to call in worship, other than God?"
They say they disappeared from us and they testify against themselves that they were
disbelievers.
|

|

| |

| 38- | God will say: "Enter in the company of
nations, which passed on before you of the Jinn race and
humankind, into the Fire (of Hell)".
Every time a nation enters
there, it curses its sister nation (similar evil nation that
went before)
till they all are down there together (in the
Fire), in which time, when the last of them
(who were the followers of the evil earlier group, being delivered into the Fire)
will say about those before them: "Our Lord, these are the
ones who misled us so
much,
so give them, a double dose of the suffering of the fire."
He will say: "For each there is double
(suffering, one being in
the Fire and another being off and away from God's Mercy),
but you don't
know its meaning".
3
|

|

| 39- | The first (previous folks, their leaders) of them will
say to the latter folks of them: "You were not any better than
us, so taste the torment for what you earned (in points of
sin)."
|

|

| |

| 40- | Indeed, those who called Our Verses as
lies and treated them with arrogance, for them the gates of
heaven will not open and they will not enter Paradise
till a
camel could ever go through the eye of a needle (which is
impossible).
Thus We punish the evil acting people.
|

|

| 41- | They will have in the Hell, a bed (of
fire) and over them covering (of Fire). Such do we punish the
unjust wrong-doers.
|

|

| |

| 42- | But those who believed (in the Oneness of
God and in the Hereafter) and did good works, of
course, We do not force anyone beyond his or her capability,
such people will be
the inhabitants of Paradise.
They will stay in there forever.
|

|

| |

| 43- | And We remove from their chests any
hatred or bad feeling (that they had during their life on
earth); rivers flow below them and they say: "All praise and
thanks to God, who has guided us into this condition
and we could
never have found guidance, if God had not guided us.
Truly the
Messengers of our Lord had come (to us) in truth.
And it will be
called on them:
"This is the Paradise that you inherited because
of the (good righteous) works you used to do (in the world).
|

|

| |

| 44- | And the inhabitants Garden (of Paradise) will call
on the inhabitants of the Fire (asking): "We have indeed found
true what our Lord had promised us,
have you also found true
what your Lord had promised you (by warnings)?"
They will respond:
"Yes"
Then an announcer will speak loud between them that:
"The
Curse (loss of Mercy) of God is only on the unjust, evil people".
|

|

| |

| 45- | Those who hindered others from the way of
God and tried to make it look crooked and wrong and they had no
belief in the Hereafter.
|

|

| 46- | And between them (the good and the bad),
there will be a barrier and on high positions of realization and
recognition, there are men who recognize all by their
(bright) faces (in Paradise)
and will call on the inhabitants of Paradise,
who have not entered
Paradise yet, but hope to enter it: "Peace be on you".
|

|

| 47- | And when their eyes are turned towards
the inhabitants of the Fire, they will say: "Our Lord, please do
not place us with the unjust people."
|

|

| 48- | And the men on high positions of
realization and recognition, will call on men
whom they know by their (darkened) faces (in the Hell), saying:
"What good and benefit did your great numbers and amassing
wealth and all your arrogance, do for you?"
|

|

| 49- | Are those (inhabitants of Paradise)
not the ones which you swore that God's Mercy would never reach them (because they were poor)?
(while the good people will be told:) "Enter
the Paradise, you will not fear and you will never be
sad".
|

|

| |

| 50- | The inhabitants of the Fire call upon the
inhabitants of Paradise that please give us some of water or some of the good things that God has provided for you.
They respond saying: "God has forbidden both (water and good
food) for the disbelievers,"
|

|
| |

| 51- | (God will say): "Those were the ones who treated their religion as an
amusement game and play and the life of this world had deceived
them."
Therefore on this Day (of Judgment), We shall neglect
them
as they neglected the meeting of this, their Day (of
Reckoning)
and because they kept on disputing and rejecting Our
Verses.
|

|

| 52- | As indeed, We had brought them a Book
(the Quran), which We have explained in detail with thorough
knowledge, as guidance and Mercy for people who believe.
|

|

| |

| 53- | Are they just waiting for the
realization and fulfillment of the event (the Judgment Day), mentioned in it (the Quran)?
The Day the event becomes realized (occurs), those
who neglected it before, will say:
"Truly the Messengers of our
Lord came with truth, now are there any intercessors (allies) to
make a plea for us?
Or could we be sent back to the world (of
our previous life on earth) so that we may behave
and do
differently than what we were used to do? "
They really have lost
themselves (their value as human beings)
and all those things
that they had fabricated (and worshipped other than God),
disappeared from them.
|

|

| |

| 54- | Your true Lord is the One God, Who created
the heavens and the earth in six periods of time, also He
regulated and harmonized the dominion of existence.
He covers
the day by night, each seeking over the other rapidly
and (He created) the
sun, the moon and the stars,
all are under His control.
Wake up to the truth that all Creation and Command for the
sudden coming to existence, is by Him,
the Lord of the worlds,
the One God,
the Source of all
blessing.
|

|

| 55- | Call your Lord in humility and secretly
(in your heart). Truly He does not like bullies and aggressors
|

|

| 56- | And don't do mischief on earth after it
has been set in order and call Him with awe, fear and hope, as God's
Mercy is ever so close to the good people.
|

|
| |

| 57- | And He is the One, who sends the winds as
a giver of good news of His Mercy (rain) to come, moving over heavy clouds, by which We water a dead land, by pouring
down the (rain) water on it.
Then We make grow out by it (by the water,) all kinds of
fruits and produce.
In a similar fashion, We bring and raise up
the dead,
(this is mentioned) so that you may take notice (that God makes
living things out of dead earth).
|

|

| 58- | And the fertile good land, brings forth
its vegetation and plants by the permission of its Lord, but the bad soil does not produce any except a little
(just as a fertile soul
picks up the Guidance of God easily and a belligerent mind does
not produce much good).
Thus We explain the Verses in different
examples for people who are grateful (to God's blessings).
|

|

| 59- | We had indeed sent Noah to his people,
then he said: "O my people, worship God only, there really is no
one worthy of worship for you other than Him.
I truly fear for
you about the suffering (consequence of your idol-worship) on
the Great Day (of Judgment)."
|

|

| 60- | The leaders of his people said: "We indeed see you in plain error." |

|

| 61- | (Noah) said: "O my people, I am not in
any error, but I am a Messenger of the Lord of the worlds with
all its inhabitants. |

|

| 62- | I carry to you the Messages of my Lord
and I give sincere advice to you and I have true knowledge from God, which you do not have.
|

|

| 63- | Do you wonder that a Reminder (the Quran) has come to
you from your Lord through a man from amongst you, so that he may warn you and that you might become mindful and
God-conscious and that you may be blessed.
|

|

| 64- | But they called him a liar, thereafter We
saved him and those along with him in the ship and We drowned
those who called Our Verses as lies.
They were really a
blind-minded people.
|

|

| 65- | We also sent to the people of Aad, their
brotherly friend Hood. He said: "O My people, worship only God,
there really is no one worth worshipping for you other than Him,
won't you be mindful?"
|

|

| 66- | The leaders of the disbelievers of his
people said: "We see you as a fool and we suppose you are a
liar." |

|

| 67- | He said: "O my people, I am not a fool,
but I am a Messenger from the Lord of the worlds and all that
exist." |

|

| 68- | "I am carrying the Messages of my Lord to
you and I am a trustworthy advisor for you." |

|

| |

| 69 | Do you wonder how a Reminder and Advice
from your Lord has come to you through a man from amongst you to
warn you?
And remember that He made you successors after the
people of Noah
and He greatly increased you in creation (in
numbers and stature).
Therefore remember the Graces of God, so
that you might succeed."
|

|

| 70- | They said: "Did you come to tell us to
worship only One God, and let go (the gods)
that our forefathers used to worship?
So bring upon us
whatever you promised and threatened us with, if you are telling
the truth."
|

|
| |

| 71- | He said: "The punishment and wrath from
your Lord has already been decided to fall upon you. Are you
still wanting to dispute and argue with me about the names (of
idols)
that you and your fathers have named them, to which God
sent no authority or permission?
So you wait and I am waiting
with you as well for the outcome.
|

|

| 72- | Thereafter We saved him and those who
were with him by a Mercy from Us and We cut down the roots of
those who called Our Verses (of guidance) as lies and they did
not believe in.
|

|
| |

| 73- | And to the people of Thamood, We sent
their brother Saleh. He said: "O my people, worship only God,
there is no one worthy of worship for you other than Him.
Truly
a clear miracle has come to you from your Lord.
This she-camel
is a sign of God for you, leave it alone to graze on God's land
and do not touch it with intent to harm her, lest a painful
punishment will catch on you."
4
|

|

| |

| 74- | "And remember that He made you successors
after the Aad people and gave you habitats in the land, so you
take on to build palaces (for you) in the plains and carve out
houses in the mountains.
So remember the many Graces of God and
do not stir up mischief in the land."
|

|

| 75- | The leaders of those who were arrogant among
his people, said
to those who were believers among the weak and poor:
"Do you know for sure that Saleh is
sent as a messenger from his Lord?"
they said: "We actually
believe in all the Message that has been sent through him."
|

|

| 76- | Those arrogant people responded, saying: "But we really deny and reject all that you believe
in." |

|

| |

| 77- | Then they hamstrung (deliberately restricted) the she-camel and acted
against the Commandment of their Lord and said: "O you Saleh, bring about your threats that you leveled on us, if you are
really a Messenger."
|

|

| 78- | Thereafter the big earthquake seized them
and by the morning they lay down dead in their homes. |

|

| 79- | Then he (Saleh) turned away from them,
saying: "O my people, I really delivered the Message of my Lord
to you and gave you good advice, but you do not like good advisors."

|

| 80- | Also remember the story of Lot, when he
said to his people: "Are you committing that much sinful act (of
homosexuality), such as no one of all the people before you had
committed?"
|

|

| 81- | "You act with lust on men, instead of
women. You are but really people who are trespassing the limits."
|

|

| 82- | The response of his people was only that
they said: "Get them (Lot and his followers) out of your town, because they are people determined to remain straight and pure."
|

|

| 83- | So We saved him and his family, except
his wife, who was one of those who remained (in the torment). |

|

| 84- | And did We pelted on them a rain (of rocks,
of a nearby mountain). So look and see the end of the evil sinners.
|

|
| |

| 85- | And to the folks of Madyan, We sent their
brother Shuaib. He said: "O my people, worship only God.
There is
really no one else worthy of worship except Him.
A clear sign of
your Lord has come to you (by the Message), so do give full
measure (of merchandise)
and full weight and do not keep part of
people's merchandise (that you sold them) and do not do mischief
in the land,
after it has been set in order, that will be better
for you if you really believe."
|

|
| |

| 86- | And do not sit on every road, blocking
and threatening people (to tax them without right) and hinder
people from the way of God, from the way of those who have believed in Him,
and you try to
make it seem crooked and wrong
and remember when you were but a
few and He later multiplied you.
And look around and see what
and how was the end of the mischief-makers!"
|

|

| 87- | "And if there is a party of you who do
believe in that which I have been sent for and another party who
do not believe in, then wait and be patient till God will judge
between us and He is the Best of all judges."
|

|

| 88- | The leaders of the arrogant people of his
town's folks said: "We shall certainly drive you Shuaib and those
who believe along with you out of our town, or else you all
return to our religion."
He said: "Even though we hate (your
ways)?"
|

|
| |

| 89- | "If we return back to your religion (and way
of life), we would then practically have made up a lie
against God, after He rescued and freed us from it (your
religion).
And it is not correct for us to return to it, other than
whatever God, our Lord would want,
Our Lord made the things (of
creation and their interconnections) so vast by His Knowledge.
We
trust in God.
Our Lord, please clear up the situation between us
and our people to make clear the truth
and you are the Best of those who open up our difficult problems
and you are the Best Problem solver.
|

|

| 90- | The chiefs of the disbelievers of his
people said: "If you follow Shuaib, then you will be losers." |

|

| 91- | Then a strong earthquake caught them
(unprepared) and they lay dead on their faces (by the morning). |

|

| 92- | Those who called Shuaib as a liar, (were
found dead) as if they never lived there. Yes, those who called Shuaib a liar were the real losers.
|

|
َ | |

| 93- | Then he (Shuaib) turned away from them,
saying: "O My people, I delivered to you the Messages of my Lord
and advised you (to follow them).
Now then how can I mourn for
people who were disbelievers."
|

|

| 94- | And We sent no prophet into any town, but
that We caught them with hardship and losses (of health and wealth,
when they rejected the Message), so that (they might lose their
arrogance and)
call God with humility.
|

|

| 95- | Thereafter We changed the difficult
situation with good times until they overlooked (God's favor) and said: "Our fathers were also hit by losses and were touched
by good easy times"
(so this is the way it has been and forgot God's favors),
upon which We seized them all of a sudden, while they
did not expect it and were unaware.
|

|

| 96- | And if indeed people of the towns had
believed and had been God-conscious and God-abiding, We would
certainly have opened for them the routes of blessings from the
sky and the earth,
but they invariably called the Messages as
lies.
So We caught them on the account of what (evil behavior
and sins) they earned.
|

|

| 97- | Did the people of the towns feel safe and
sound that Our punishment would never reach them by night while
they were sound asleep?
|

|

| 98- | Or did the people of towns feel secure that
Our punishment may not come during daylight time while they
were busy playing?
|

|

| 99- | Did they feel safe against God's plan? But then only the losers feel safe and heedless of God's plan.
|

|

| 100- | Is it not clear to those who inherit the
land from its previous inhabitants, that if We will, We shall
punish them also for their sins and We seal up their hearts shut,
so
that thereafter they would not be able to hear (the truth).
|

|

| 101- | Those were the towns, whose stories We
relate to you and in each case, their Messengers came to them
with clear notices,
but they were not going to believe in
something that they had rejected before.
Thus does God seal shut
the hearts of disbelievers (when they keep on rejecting the
Truth).
|

|

| 102- | And We did not find most of them
faithful to their promise, instead We found most of them
disobedient rebels. |

|

| 103- | Then after them, We raised Moses with
Our Signs and Miracles to go to Pharaoh and his elders, but they
unjustly responded to those miracles.
See then how
was the end of the corrupt mischief makers.
|

|

| 104- | And Moses said: "O Pharaoh, I am indeed
a Messenger, from the Lord of the worlds with all their inhabitants. |

|

| 105- | "It is most mandatory for me to say nothing
about God except the full truth. Indeed I have brought a miracle
and a clear proof from your Lord.
So let the Children of Israel
leave with me."
|

|

| 106- | (Pharaoh) said: "If you got any proof,
show it if you are telling the truth." |

|

| 107- | Upon which Moses threw his stick (cane)
and behold, it then became a real serpent. |

|

| 108- | He also drew his hand (from his vest)
and behold, it was shining white to the spectators |

|

| 109- | The elders of the court's people of
pharaoh said: "This is a real knowledgeable sorcerer," |

|

| 110- | "Who wants to get you out of your
homeland. So what do you recommend and order?"
|

|

| 111- | They said: "Put him and his brother
(Aaron) off (in arrest) and meanwhile send callers to the
cities to collect (sorcerers)", |

|

| 112- | "So that they bring you all the knowledgeable
sorcerers." |

|

| 113- | And so the sorcerers came to Pharaoh and
said: "Of course there will be a reward for us if we become the
victors?" |

|

| 114- | He (Pharaoh) said: "Yes and you then
certainly will be of the closest people to me." |

|

| 115- | They (the sorcerers of Pharaoh) said: "O
Moses, either you throw first or shall we throw?" |

|

| 116- | He (Moses) said: "You throw first." Then
when they threw, they caused magic and bewitched the eyes of the
onlooking people
and managed to cause fear in them and they
came up with a great magic.
|

|

| 117 | And We revealed to Moses to throw your stick
and then, it swallow up whatever they falsely had produced. |

|

| 118- | Thus the truth was confirmed and came to
pass and all that they were doing, was proven wrong, and cancelled.
|

|

| 119- | So, this way they were defeated and
turned humiliated. |

|

| 120- | And the magicians went down
on their knees, with their foreheads on the ground (prostrating to the One God). |

|

| 121- | They said: "We believe in the Lord of
all the worlds," |

| 122- | "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." |

|

| 123- | The Pharaoh said: "Have you believed in
Him, before I give you permission? This is surely a plot and
scheme that you planned in the city, to drive its people from
it,
but you will know soon (what I will do to you)!"
|

|

| 124- | "I will certainly cut off your hands and feet from opposite sides,
then I will crucify you all." |

|

| 125- | They said: "(Now we realize the truth
and) We are surely returning to our (real) Lord anyway". |

|

| 126- | "And you are retaliating against us, just
because we have believed in the Miracles and Signs of our Lord when they reached us.
Our Lord, please bless patience on us, to
die as Muslim."
|

|

| 127- | The chiefs of people of Pharaoh said (to Pharaoh): "Are you letting Moses and his people to make mischief
in the land and to abandon you and your gods?"
He said: "We will kill
their sons and let live their women and we have great power over
them."
|

|

| 128- | Moses told his people: "Ask God for help
and be patient (in difficulties). Certainly the whole earth
belongs to God,
He makes it inherit whom He wills of His
servants and the blessed happy ending is for the pious ones."
|

|

| 129- | They said: "We (Jews) suffered before
and after you came to us (as a prophet)". He said: "May be your
Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors on earth,
then He will observe how you behave and act."
|

|

| 130- | And indeed We did punish the people of Pharaoh with years of drought and shortage of crops and produce, so that they might come to think and to wake up to the truth.
|

|

| 131- | Instead whenever good time and fortune
came to them, they said: "This is due to our own efforts and we
deserve it", and when any hardship hit them, they connected it
to bad omen and bad luck due to Moses and those with him.
In
fact their bad luck have been by God's Decision, but most of
them did not know it.
|

|

| 132- | And they kept saying (to Moses): "Whatever proof that you may bring to us to capture us with it,
we won't believe you anyway."
|

|

| 133- | Then We sent on them: the stormy flood,
the locusts, lice (harmful insects), the frogs and the blood (bleeding tendency), one
after another, as extensive signs (as wake up calls), yet they
remained arrogant and they had been a sinful nation.
|

|

| 134- | But when the hard punishment (plague)
fell on them, they said: "O Moses, ask your Lord for us, as He
promised you;
If you remove the punishment from us, we will
surely believe in you
and we will definitely send away the
Children of Israel (the Jews) with you".
|

|

| 135- | But when We removed the punishment from
them for a period of time that they would reach, then they would break their
promise.
|

|

| 136- | Then We retaliated against them and We drowned them in the sea, because they claimed Our Verses and
Miracles as lies and kept ignoring them.
|

|

| |

| 137- | And We made the people who were kept weak, to
inherit the eastern part of the land and the western part of it, which We blessed.
And the Beautiful Command Word of your Lord was
fulfilled for the Children of Israel,
because of their patience
and perseverance
and We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people
were working on and the buildings that they were erecting.
|

|

| 138- | And We allowed the Children of Israel to
cross the sea, then they came upon a people who worshipped
devoutly their idols.
They (the Israelites) said: "O Moses, make a
god for us as they have gods (idols)."
Moses said: "You are
really playing dumb."
(as if you don't know that you are not to
worship anyone but the One Invisible God)
|

|

| 139- | "These people certainly are doomed in that
which they are engaged and all that they are doing is absurd." |

|

| 140- | He went on to say: "(Do you want me) to
search for a god for you other than The One God, whereas He
made you superior over the folks (of your time by His
Guidance)?"
|

|

| 141- | "And (remember) when He rescued you from
the Pharaoh's people, who inflicted torture on you, killing your
sons and letting your women live (to serve them),
and in all
this, there was a major test and trial from your Lord."
|

|
| |

| 142- | And We appointed thirty nights for Moses
and completed the period with additional ten nights and he
completed the term of his Lord with forty nights (in meditation
and receiving Commandments from his Lord).
And Moses told his
brother Aaron (before leaving for meditation term):
"Stay in my
place with my people (while I am gone) and make things right and
do not follow the way of mischief-makers."
|

|
| |

| 143- | And when Moses came to Our appointed time and place and his Lord spoke to him, he said: "O my Lord, show me yourself, so I may look upon you."
God said: "You can never see Me, but look at that mountain,
then if it stays firm
in its place, then you can see Me."
Then when the Might of his
Lord appeared at the mountain, He made it collapse and crash
into pieces
and Moses fell unconscious.
Later when he regained
his senses, got up, saying:
"Glory to you, I came to you,
apologizing and I am the foremost of the believers."
|

|

| 144- | God said: "O Moses, I have chosen you
above other people by My Messages and by My Speaking (to you). so
take what I have granted you (with respect) and be of the
grateful ones."
|

|

| 145- | And We wrote for him on the Tablets,
teaching about everything and explanation for all things and
(told him): "Hold unto those (Commandments) firmly and tell your
people to do their best to hold unto them;
soon I will show you
the place and situation of the rebellious disobedient ones."
|

|
| |

| 146- | "I shall keep away (the benefits) of My Verses and Lessons
from those who behave arrogantly on
earth, without any right or reason and each time they see a
Verse, they won't believe in it,
and whenever they notice the
way of improvement, and progress, they will not adopt it,
but
whenever they see the way of error and wrong, they adopt it as a
way of life.
That is because they denied and called Our Verses
as lies and remained ignorant of their meaning.
|

|

| 147- | And those who rejected Our Verses and
the Meeting of the Hereafter and call them lies, all their efforts become
worthless.
Are they to be rewarded for anything other than what
they used to do (in bad behavior and mischief)?
|

|

| 148- | And the people of Moses, after his absence,
made a golden calf from their jewelry (to worship), this being a statue (of a calf) that made sound (by wind going
through it, as if mooing).
Didn't they notice that it could neither speak to them,
nor guide them in any way that they had taken and believed in it
and
they were unjust people.
|

|

| 149- | And later when they regretted and found
out that they had gone far astray, (apologized and) said: "If
our Lord would not have mercy on us and would not forgive us, we
shall certainly be losers."
|

|
| |

| 150- | And when Moses returned to his people,
angry and sad, he said: "What an evil you made up in my absence.
Did you hurry to go beyond the Commandment of your Lord
and hurried to deserve the punishment of your
Lord?"
and he put down the Tablets and grabbed his brother's head, dragging him
towards himself.
(Aaron, his brother) said: "O son of my mother, this people really weakened my position badly
and they were about
to kill me, so don't let now the enemies have fun in blaming me
and don't
consider me among the unjust cruel people."
|

|

| 151- | (Moses) said: "O my Lord, forgive me and
my brother and admit us into your Mercy and You are the Most
Merciful of all.
|

|

| 152- | Certainly those who took the calf (for
worship), the wrath of their Lord and humiliation comes upon
them during their life in this world.
Thus We punish the
inventors of lies.
|

|

| 153- | But those who committed evil acts, then
repented afterwards and believed in the Truth, of course your
Lord after all that, is indeed Very Forgiving, Most Merciful (to
good people).
|

|

| 154- | And when the anger of Moses calmed down,
he took up the Tablets and in their writings, there were guidance and
mercy for those who are in awe of their Lord ('s Majesty),
and fear
(disobeying) Him.
|

|
| |

| 155- | And Moses chose from his people seventy
men to (be present at) Our appointed place and time of meeting. Then as a violent earthquake seized them, he said:
"O my Lord, if You had decided, You could have destroyed them and me before.
Are You wanting to destroy us because of what the foolish ones
among us did in the past? (I understand now that)
this is only a trial and testing by You, by which You let astray whom
You will
and You guide whom You will.
You are our Protector, so please
forgive us and have Mercy on us, as You are the Best of
forgivers."
|

|
| |

| 156- | "Please command for us goodness in this
world and in the Hereafter. We are indeed aimed (with hope only)
towards you."
He (God) said: 'Ultimately I decide to whom My punishment will
hit, but My Grace has embraced all things
and I will make it (the Mercy) certain for the pious
(God-conscious) people who pay charity (to poor people)
and
those who believe in Our Verses of Revelations."
|

|
| |

| 157- | Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet
(Muhammad) who had not learned to read or write, whom they
find written up in the Torah and the Gospel available to them,
who commands them for goodness and forbids them from evil
and he
allows them good lawful things and deeds and prohibits them
dirty and evil things
and removes from them (the
Israelites),
the hardship and difficult burdens and rules that have
been upon them.
5
So those who believe in him (Muhammad), honor
him, help him and follow the Light (the Quran)
which was sent down with him (for guidance of mankind), they are the real
successful ones.
6
|

|
| |

| 158- | (O Muhammad) Say: "O mankind, I am truly sent
to you all as the Messenger of God, to Whom belongs the dominion and mastery of the heavens and the
earth.
None is worthy of worship except He.
He gives life and causes death.
Therefore believe in God and His Messenger, the Prophet who had
not learned to write or read,
who believes in the One God and in
His Words and follow him, so you also may be guided".
|

|

| 159- | And of the people of Moses (the Jews),
there has been a community who lead people with truthfulness and they judge by it (by truth and justice).
|

|

| |

| 160- | And We divided them (the Israelites) into twelve tribes, communities. And We revealed to Moses, when his
people asked him for water, We said: "Strike the rock with your
stick."
And there gushed out of it twelve springs, each group
knew its own source of water
and We shaded them with clouds
(from the desert sun)
and We sent down to them a sweet plant food
extract and quails, saying:
"Eat of the good clean foods that We
have provided for you."
They did not harm us (by their not behaving right), but they
were harming themselves.
|

|

| 161- | And (remember) when they were told:
"Stay in this town and eat of its produce whatever you wish and
say: 'O God forgive and drop off our sins, and enter the gate of the
town,
bowing in humility and prostrating your forehead to the ground',
so We shall forgive your wrong doings".
We shall increase the reward of good-doing people.
|

|

| 162- | But the evil-doing ones among them
changed the word which was said to them with another word, then
We sent a punishment from the sky upon them for their
wrong-doings.
|

|
| |

| 163- | And (O Muhammad) ask them about the town
that was by the sea, when they trespassed the rule of Sabbath
(not working on Saturday),
when their fish appeared coming to
view on Saturday
but on the other days that they did not have
the restriction of Saturday (Sabbath), they did not come to
their view.
That way We put them further on trial as they used
to disobey God.
|

|

| 164- | And also (remember) when a community
from amongst them said: "Why do you preach to a people whom God
is about to destroy or punish them severely?"
The preachers
replied, saying: "Just to do the duty
(of encouraging for goodness and forbidding sins), before your
Lord and that they would wake up and behave."
|

|

| 165- | Then when they kept on neglecting and
disregarding the reminders that had been given to them, We saved
those who made efforts to stop evil and We seized those who kept
on doing wrongs
with a severe punishment, because of what they
kept on doing, disobeying God.
|

|

| 166- | And so when they exceeded the limits of
what they were prohibited against, We said to them: "You be as
monkeys, apes, despised and disregarded." (no more chance of
improvement!)
|

|

| 167- | And (remember) when your Lord declared
that He will certainly keep on sending against them (the unruly
Jews), till the Day of Resurrection,
those who will inflict upon
them a grave torment.
Indeed, your Lord is Swift in Retaliation
(against the wicked and the cruel)
and at the same time Very-Forgiving (for the good people).
7
|

|

| 168- | And We have scattered them (the Jews)
into separate groups on earth, some of them are righteous
working people and some are otherwise.
And We tried them with
blessings and by adversities and difficulties, in order that
they might return (to God).
|

|
| |

| 169- | Then after them, succeeded another generation which inherited the Book (Torah), but they only chose
to cherish the things of this lowly life (of material things and
pleasures) and claimed that:
"Everything we do, will be
forgiven."
8
And whenever the opportunity of similar things came
up to them, they would seize it (to commit sins).
Was there by the Book (Torah) a promise (covenant) not taken
from them
that they
should never say about God anything but the truth?
And they even
studied and learned what is in it (the Book Torah).
And of course the good life in the Hereafter is more valuable
and better for the pious, God-abiding people.
Don't you understand
its meaning?
|

|

| 170- | And about those who hold firm to the
Book and perform regular prayers, certainly We do not waste or belittle the reward of those who
improve the society .
|

|
| |

| 171- | And (remember the situation) when We had
raised and kept the mountain above them as it were a high
ceiling over them, and they thought that it might fall on them
any moment,
(then We said:) "Hold firmly and strongly unto what
We have given you (the Torah)
and remember what is (written) in
it, so that you may become pious and God-obeying."
|

|
| |

| 172- | And also remember that when your Lord
has created from the children of Adam, generations after them
from their producing offspring (children)
and made their
conscience such as to testify when (asked deep in their heart:)
"Am I not your Lord?"
(,that created you what you are), they
said: "Yes, we testify".
This is so that you would not (have
any excuse to) say on the Day of Resurrection and
Accountability:
"We have been unaware of this fact."
|

|

| 173- | Or that you would say: "Our ancestors believed in
partners (with God) and we were only their descendents after
them; are you then going to destroy us because of those who
practiced and lived the wrong way?
(being polytheists: believing in more than the One God).
|

|

| 174- | Thus We explain the Verses (of
awakening), so that they (the polytheists, such as those
believing in three combined gods, trinity) return
(to believe in
the One and Unique God).
|

|

| 175- | (O Muhammad) Also read to them, the
story of the person to whom We gave him Our Verses (Of
Guidance), but he broke off from it (the guidance), so Satan followed up on him
(to deceive him)
and so he became astray and confused.
|

|
| |

| 176- | And had We willed, We would surely have
elevated his personality by it, but he clung to just earthy life
(as if it were permanent) and followed his own desire.
So his
likeness is that of a dog; If you pay attention to it or drive
it off, it sticks and lolls its tongue out
or if you leave it
alone, it still lolls its tongue.
Such as the likeness of the
behavior of those, who reject Our Verses as lies.
So tell the
stories, perhaps they would reflect on their meaning.
|

|

| 177- | Evil is the comparison of the people who
reject Our Verses as lies and they have been hurting themselves
(by depriving themselves of God's lessons).
|

|

| 178- | Whomever God guides, he (or she) is the
truly guided person and whomever God lets go astray, those are
the kind of people who are the real losers.
|

|
| |

| 179- | Indeed We have let many folks of the
Jinns and humans in the direction to Hell.
9 Those are the kind of
people who have hearts (inner power of thinking)
but they do not
get the truth by them and they have eyes, by which they do not
see or perceive the truth by them
and they have ears but they do not hear the truth by them
(because they don't want to).
They are (in behavior) like cattle
and even worse off.
Those are really unaware of truth.
|

|

| 180- | And know that God has many Beautiful
Names, so call Him by them and leave alone those who impolitely
mention His Names.
They will be punished for what they had been
doing.
|

|

| 181- | And from amongst those whom We have created,
are folks who
guide others along the truth and they always judge by it (by truth
and justice).
|

|

| 182- | But those who reject Our Verses as lies,
We shall gradually seize them with punishment by ways and from
places that they don't know (what is going to happen to them).
|

|

| 183- | And I let them sometime, but My plan
(for them) is strong and decisive. |

|

| 184- | Don't they think and realize that there
is no madness in their companion (Muhammad). He is only an
evident warner (by God's Command).
|

|

| 185- | Don't they look upon the control and
dominion of the heavens and the earth and all the things that
God has created
and that may be the time of their death is in
fact getting near?
(So that they may use the rest of their life
for the best).
In what message after this, would they believe?!
|

|

| 186- | Whomever God lets astray, no one can
guide him and He lets them wander blindly in their rebellious
behavior.
|

|
| |

| 187- | They ask you about the Hour and Time (of
Judgment Day); "When is its appointed time?" Say: "Its knowledge
rests only with my Lord.
None might reveal its time except He.
It is going to be a grave happening in the heavens and the
earth.
It will come to happen to you all of a sudden."
They ask
you as if you know well its time.
Say: "Surely its knowledge is only
with God, but most people do not know (this truth)."
|

|
| |

| 188- | (O Muhammad) Say: "I possess no power
over any benefit or loss on myself except that which God
wills and if I had been knowing the unseen (truth of all that
will happen in the future),
I certainly would have accumulated
wealth and no wrong would have touched me.
But I am only a warner and bringer of good news for people who believe."
|

|
| |

| 189- | He is the One, who created you (humans)
from a single personality (prototype) and made the spouse from
the same (personality), so that he would have peace (living)
with her.
Then when the sex covered (happened) unto her, she
became pregnant, initially carrying lightly and she carried on.
Then when it became heavy, they both (the couple) called upon
God, their Lord, (saying):
"If You grant us a child with good personality, we shall certainly be ever so grateful."
|

|

| 190- | But when He gave them a good child, they
both attributed partners in this which God gave them. High above
all is God from which they imagine partners to Him (in His
Creation).
|

|

| 191- | Do they attribute as partners to God,
those who do not create anything but they themselves are
created? |

|

| 192- | And they have no power to help them, nor
can they help even themselves. |

|

| 193- | And if you call them to guidance (to
help you), they won't follow you, it is the same for you, whether you call them or you keep silent.
|

|

| 194- | Of course, those whom you call upon
other than God, are creature-servants like yourselves. So keep
calling them, they should really answer your prayers, if you (think
you) are right.
|

|
| |

| 195- | Are there any feet for them to walk
with? Or do they have hand with which they would hold?
Or do
they have eyes, to see with?
Or do they have ears with which
they could hear?
(O Muhammad) Say: "keep praying to your (idols)
as partners (to God) and then plot against me
and don't give me a
chance (to help guiding you)."
|

|

| 196- | But really my True Protector is God Who
has revealed down the Book and He will protect-support the
righteous ones.
|

|

| 197- | And those whom you call upon other than
Him, they have no power to help you and they can't even help
themselves. |

|

| 198- | And if you call them for guidance (to
help you), they don't hear and you see them (the idols, as if)
they are looking at you, but they don't see.
|
