Gilani |
Repentance - Chapter 9
|
Contains 129 Verses – Medina |
|
1- |
This is a declaration from God and His Messenger for withdrawal
from all obligations and any agreement,
with those parties of
polytheists with whom you had made a treaty
(and they kept on
breaking the treaty of non-aggression). |
|
2- |
So (you idolaters) go about in the land
for four the months term,
but be aware that you cannot escape
from (the punishment of) God
and God will bring disgrace on
those who refuse the truth. |
|
3- |
And declaration from God and His Messenger
to mankind is given on this day of the Greatest pilgrimage (to
Mecca)
that God disregards the idolaters, so does His messenger.
So if you (idol worshippers) repent, it is better for you, but
if you still turn away (from the truth),
then know that you
cannot escape the punishment by God
and (O Muhammad) give to
those who reject the truth, the news of a coming painful
suffering. |
|
4- |
Except those of the idol worshippers with
whom you have a treaty
and they subsequently did not violate any
part of the treaty and did not support any one against you.
So
complete their treaty with them to the end of their term.
Surely
God loves the careful pious people. |
|
5- |
Then when the (four) Sacred Months have
passed,
1
then kill the (treaty-breaking, attacking) idol worshippers
wherever you find them
and capture them and besiege them and sit and wait for them on
each and every ambush.
But if they repent and do prayer and pay Zakat (charity dues),
then leave them free on their way,
as God is Very Forgiving, Most Merciful (to good people). |
|
6- |
And if anyone of the idol worshippers
requests your help and protection, then grant him that,
so that he may hear the Word of God (the Quran), then escort him
to his safe place,
this is because they (the idol-worshippers) are folks who do not
know
(any better and if they don't attack you, be kind to them). |
|
7- |
How could there be any treaty for the
idol worshippers with God and with His Messenger
except those with whom you made a treaty near the Sacred Mosque.
So as long as they stand true to you, then you stand true to
them.
Indeed, God loves careful pious people. |
|
8- |
Also how (could there be any treaty) that
when they overpower you,
they do not respect ties, neither by kinship nor by treaty
obligation.
With (deceitful) words of their mouth, they pacify you, but
their hearts hate you and most of them are rebellious gangsters. |
|
9- |
They bartered away the Verses of God for a
little (worldly) gain, then they hindered others from His Way;
evil indeed is what they have been doing. |
|
10- |
They respect no ties either by kinship, nor
by treaty with a believer
and they are really the aggressors and trespassers. |
|
11- |
Yet if they repent, perform regular
prayer and pay Zakat (charity dues), then they are as your
brothers in religion
and We explain the Verses in detail for
people who (have the ability to) know the truth (who will
understand). |
|
|
12- |
But if they violate their oaths after their
promise and treaty and insult your religion,
then fight
and campaign against the leaders of the faithlessness and
disbelief,
since they have really no faith and respect (for their own pledges and
oaths), so that they may stop (the nonsense). |
|
13- |
Why shouldn't you fight against a group (of Mecca pagans) who
have violated their oaths
and made much effort to expel the
Messenger (Muhammad from Mecca)
and they started the fight and
attacks in the first place?
Are you afraid of them?
But God is
the most correct Authority that you should be in awe of Him and
be afraid of disobeying Him,
if
you are real believers. |
|
14- |
Fight against them, that way God will
punish them by your hands and disgrace them
and aid you to
overcome them and relieve and heal the anguish in hearts of the
believers |
|
15- |
And remove the anger of their hearts (the
believers' hearts)
and God accepts the repentance of whom He wants (who
deserves God's Mercy by repentance)
and God is All-knowing,
All-Wise |
|
16- |
Do you think that you shall be left alone
and God would not make known those of you who have
worked hard (in the Way of God)
and fought and did not take intimate confidents other than God, His Messenger and the believers?
And (know that) God is All Aware of what you do. |
|
17- |
It is not for the polytheist pagans to repair or
maintain the Mosques of God, while they inside themselves, insist on
disbelief.
Those are the kind of people whose efforts will be
worthless and they will remain forever in Hellfire. |
|
18- |
The Mosques of God should be repaired and
maintained only by those who believe in God and in the Hereafter
and who perform regular prayers and give Zakat (charity-dues)
and are not in awe or worship of anyone except God,
such
people may hope to be among the truly guided persons. |
|
19- |
Do you consider that providing drinking water
for the pilgrims
and the maintenance of the Sacred Mosque (Kaaba in
Mecca)
to be equal in value to the efforts of a person who
believes in God and the last Day (of Judgment)
and strives hard
and fights in the Cause of God?
They are not equal before God.
And God
does not guide the unjust and oppressors (those who oppress the
truth in themselves or others). |
|
20- |
Those who have believed and emigrated and
strove hard and fought for the Cause of God
with their wealth
and their own beings, are of greater degree and standing before God
and those are the real successful people. |
|
21- |
Their Lord gives them good news of Mercy
from Him
and the news of His being pleased with them
and of Gardens (of Paradise) full of lasting bliss (for them), |
|
22- |
In which they will remain forever. Indeed,
with God is a great reward. |
|
23- |
O you who believe,
do not take and do not
consider as allies your fathers nor your brothers,
if they
prefer and tend towards disbelief rather than Faith (in the One
God, the Hereafter and the Messengers)
and whoever of you aligns
with them, then those are oppressors (also). |
|
24- |
Say: "If your fathers, your sons, your
brothers, your
spouses, your tribe
and the worldly belongings that you have
gained
and the business, the decline of which you worry and the
homes and dwellings in which you are delighted with,
are dearer to
you than God and His Messenger and striving and fighting in His
Cause,
then wait to see until God brings His Command (of
punishment).
And God does not guide disobedient people." |
|
25- |
Indeed God helped you (to victory) on
many battlefields and also on the (Battle- day) Day of Hanayn
(a
valley between Mecca and Taif), when you were happy and pleased
with your great number,
but it was not at all enough for you and
the earth despite its vastness, appeared narrow to you,
then you
turned back, retreating. |
|
26- |
Then God sent down a calmness and inner peace to His Messenger
and upon the believers
and sent down (angelic) forces which you could not see
and
punished hard the disbelievers; and such is the penalty on the
disbelievers. |
|
27- |
Then after all this, God accepts the
repentance from and turns His Mercy towards whom He wills;
for
God is Very Forgiving, Most Merciful (to good people). |
|
28- |
O you who believe, indeed the pagans
(polytheists, idol worshippers) are impure and unclean,
therefore they should not get close to the Sacred Mosque after
this year
and if you are worried about any financial hardship (because
they won't be coming to spend money),
then know that God will enrich you of His Bounty, if He wills;
because God is Truly All Knowing, All Wise.
3 |
|
29- |
Fight against those who don't believe in
God, nor in the Last Day (of Judgment),
nor forbid what God and
His Messenger have forbidden
and do not have the Religion of
Truth (belief in the One God-Islam)
from among the people of
Scripture (Jews, Christians etc)
until they pay their special
(protection) tax willingly and while they are being subdued. |
|
30- |
And the Jews said: "Ezra is the son of
God"
and the Christians said: "Jesus the Messiah is the son of
God".
This is their baseless saying by their mouths, resembling
the saying of those who disbelieved before
(ancient Greeks ,
Romans etc).
Curse of God will be upon them, for the stories they make up and
turn away from the truth.
4 |
|
31- |
They (Jews and Christians) assumed their
rabbis and their monks as their lords (patron saints!) besides
God,
and (they also took even) the Messiah, son of Mary as their
lord,
whereas they were commanded that they should not worship
anyone except the One and Only True God.
There is no one worthy
of worship except He.
He is beyond all that they imagine and
associate partners to Him. |
|
|
32- |
They (the disbelievers) want to
extinguish the Light (and Glory) of God with their mouths
(by
lying against the One and Only God),
but God will not allow
except that His Light will be widespread all over, even though
the disbelievers dislike
(the Truth of the Oneness of God). |
|
33- |
He is One, who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with
guidance and the religion of truth (Islam),
to make it shine
over all creeds and religions although the polytheists (who assume
others as their lord), hate (Islam) |
|
34- |
O you who believe, in fact many of the
rabbis and monks (priests and pastors) devour the wealth of
mankind wrongly
and they hinder (people by their wrong teaching and
spending) from the Way of God.
And those who hoard up gold and
silver (money which is due to charity and was not paid to them)
and do
not spend them in the Way of God, announce unto them a painful
punishment (to come),
5 |
|
35- |
On the Day (of Reckoning) when that
(hoarded treasure) will be heated in the Hell Fire
and with it
will be branded their foreheads, their sides (their flanks) and
their backs.
(It will be made understood):
"This is what you
hoarded for yourselves, so now taste the result of what you had
been hoarding." |
|
36- |
In fact the member of months by God is twelve months (in a your),
ordained in God's Decision, at the time when He created the heavens and the earth;
of which
four of them are Sacred months (times for more intensive meditation and worship,
avoiding wars).
This is the upright religion, so do not wrong
yourselves during those times,
but do fight the polytheists (if
they attacked you), united and collectively, as they fight against
you collectively
and know that God is with the careful pious
people. |
|
37- |
The (pagan way of) postponing (of a
sacred month) is indeed an addition to (the rituals of)
disbelief:
thereby the disbelievers are led astray, they make it lawful one
year
and make it forbidden another year, to manipulate the number of
months, forbidden by God,
so
they make it (look) lawful what God has for bidden (to change
the order of the months).
The evil aspect of their acts seems
fair to them,
and God does not guide the people who disbelieve the
truth. |
|
38- |
O you who believe, what is the matter
with you
that when you are told to march forward in the Cause of
God (for defense), you weigh heavily on earth?
Are you pleased
with the life of this lowly world rather than the Hereafter?
But
the enjoyment of life of this world is only little compared to
the life in the Hereafter. |
|
39- |
If you do not march forth (to defensive
war), He will punish you with a painful torment
and He will replace
you by another people and you can not cause any harm to Him
and
God is Powerful-Determinant over all things. |
|
40- |
If you do not help him (Muhammad, in the
defense, you should know that),
indeed God helped him when the
disbelievers drove him out (of Mecca, to flee),
he was one of the two persons, while they were in the cave
(where they
were hiding from the disbelievers who wanted to kill the
prophet),
at which time he said to his companion (Abubakr):
"Don't be sad, God is with us".
Then God sent down His peace and
calmness upon him (the prophet) and strengthened him by
(angelic) forces
which you could not see and He put down the word
of the disbelievers to the lowest level by defeating them
and the Word of God, is absolutely the Highest.
And God is
All Powerful Invincible, Most Wise. |
|
41- |
Go on to fight for the Cause of God, heavily
or lightly armed, (whether it is easy or difficult,)
with your material possessions
and with your lives.
This is better for your own good, if you
but knew it. |
|
42- |
Had there been a near (battle with) gain and
an easy journey, they would have followed you (Muhammad),
but the distance (in the Tabuk expedition) was too far for them
and (after you returned,) they would swear by God:
"If we only could, we would have certainly come out with you."
They destroy their personalities (by this false swearing) and
God knows that indeed they are lying. |
|
43- |
God forgave you (O Muhammad).
Why did
you allow them to leave? (To stay behind, you should have persisted
that they come along to fight,)
until those who told the truth
would become evident for you if they are telling the truth
(they can or cannot come to
fight along with you) and that you would know the liars. |
|
44- |
Those who believe in God and in the Last
Day (of Judgment)
would not ask your permission to be exempted from
fighting with their possessions and their lives
and God is
All Knowing (has full knowledge) of the God-conscious pious
ones. |
|
45- |
In fact only those who do not really
believe in God and the Last Day (of Judgment)
and whose hearts are in doubt, they are the ones who ask you for your permission
to be excused
and then they go back and forth
in their doubt (if they did the right thing or not). |
|
46- |
And if they had intended to march out
(with you), they would certainly have made some preparation for
it,
but God (because of their doubt and mental uneasiness)
was against their deployment,
so He caused them to hold back and
lag behind and it was said:
"You stay and sit behind with those
(others) who stay at home." |
|
47- |
If they had marched with you, they would
have added nothing to you but disorder
and they would have
hurried between your companions trying to cause discord (and
mutiny)
and among you there are some who would have even
listened to them (to hear news as spies)
and God has full knowledge of the evildoers.
|
|
48- |
Indeed they plotted rebellion before and
had upset matters for you,
till the truth (of victory) came
and
the Command and will of God became Manifest (by the victory of
Islam),
all the while they (the hypocrites) have hated it. |
|
49- |
And among them, one would say: "Allow me
leave (exempt me from fight) and do not put me on trial".
but know that they have already fallen in to trial and surely the
Hell will surround the disbelievers. |
|
50- |
If any good happens to you, it makes them
sad and if a misfortune hits you, they would say:
"We took our
precaution beforehand."
And they turn away, being happy. |
|
51- |
Say: "Nothing ever happens to us, except
whatever God has decreed for us.
He is our Lord Guardian and in God
should the believers trust." |
|
52- |
Say: "Are you expecting on us anything
other than one of two best conclusions (martyrdom or victory)?
while we are awaiting on you either that God will hit you with a
punishment from Himself or by our hands.
So you wait, we are also
waiting with you." |
|
53- |
Say: "If you spend (money with your
hypocrisy) willingly or unwillingly, it will not be accepted
from you.
Indeed you are a rebellious gang". |
|
54- |
And the reason that their contributions
were not accepted from them,
was none other than that they
disbelieved in God and in His Messenger
and that they come to
prayer only in a lazy and tired manner.
And they do not
contribute except unwillingly. |
|
55- |
So their wealth and children should not
amaze you.
In reality, God intends to punish them by these
means during their life in this world
and their souls shall
depart (their bodies) while they are still disbelieving (denying
the truth). |
|
56- |
And they swear by God that they are
really of you,
not so, they do not belong to you, but they are a
different kind of people who are afraid (of you). |
|
57- |
Should they find a refuge, a cave or any
place to flee into, they would turn straightaway into it in a
rush. |
|
58- |
And of them are some who accuse you
(Muhammad, of unfairness in the distribution) of the charity;
If
they are given of that, they are pleased, but if they are not
given of it, they become very angry. |
|
59- |
But if only they would have been happy
with what God and His Messenger
had already given them and would
have said: "God is Sufficient for us, God will give us of His
plenty,
and so will His Messenger (from charity) and we look forward for God's Help."
(it would have been better for them) |
|
60- |
Indeed the offerings for the sake of God
are meant only for the poor,
the needy and those employed to collect and distribute them and to attract the hearts of those
inclined (to Islam)
and to free slaves and captives and for
those in difficult debt and for the Cause of God (to defend
Islam)
and for the traveler (run out of means);
this is a duty
ordained by God and God is All Knowing, All Wise. |
|
61- |
And among them are men who bother and
annoy the prophet (Muhammad), saying:
"He is all ear (listening
to everybody)."
Say (yes): "He is all ear (listening carefully)
which is best for you,
he believes in God and trusts the
believers and he is a mercy (from God) to those of you who truly
believe."
And those who hurt the Messenger of God, will have a
painful suffering. |
|
62- |
They the hypocrites swear by God to you
(Muslims) to please you,
but God and His Messenger should rather have
been on their mind, so as to please Him if they really were
believers. |
|
63- |
Don't they know that whoever opposes God and
His Messenger,
there is certainly the Fire of Hell in store for him,
in which he will be a permanent resident
that is a great humiliation and disgrace. |
|
64- |
The hypocrites fear that a chapter (of the
Quran) be revealed against them, warning them of (the evil
thoughts)
that are in their hearts.
Say (to them): ” (Go ahead and) make fun, but certainly God will
bring about that which you fear.” |
|
65- |
And when you question them (about their
sarcastic behavior),
they would say: ”We were doing small talk
and joking”.
Say (to them): "Are you making fun of God, the Verses (of the Quran) and His messenger? ”, |
|
66- |
“Don’t make excuses; you behaved in
disbelief after you have had believed.
If We pardon some of you
(if you repent),
We shall punish some others of you, because
they have been trouble-makers”. |
|
67- |
The hypocrites, men and women, some are
(supporters) of others;
they enjoin (on people) to do evil and
hinder from doing good
and they hold their hands tightly closed (so they
won't give charity),
they have forgotten God, so God has
disregarded them also.
The hypocrites indeed are the rebellious
trouble-makers. |
|
68- |
God has promised the hypocrites, men and
women and the disbelievers, the fire of Hell, in which they will
stay forever.
That will be sufficient for them and God cursed
them (away from His Mercy)
and they will get a lasting
punishment. |
|
69- |
Like those before you, they (the hypocrites
and the disbelievers of the past) were even mightier than you in
power
and had more in wealth and children and they enjoyed their
way of life for a while,
so you are enjoying your way for a while like
those who did before you,
and you indulged also like they did in
pastime, nonsense and fun.
But those are the ones whose efforts and deeds
became void in this world and in the Hereafter and they are the
losers. |
|
70- |
Has the story of those before them not
reached them?
Of the people of Noah, Ad, Thamood and the people
of Abraham and the dwellers of Madyan
and those towns overthrown
(where Prophet Lot preached)?
Their Messengers (of God) came to
them with clear evidences and proofs (of the oneness of God).
Thereafter (when they went wrong), it was not God, Who would
wrong them,
but it was they who had wronged themselves (by their
wrong attitudes and behavior). |
|
71- |
(Contrary to them,) The believers, men and
women, some are close friends-supporters of each others,
they
enjoin the people to do good and hinder from evil acts,
they
keep up with regular prayers and give Zakat (charity dues) and
they obey God and His Messenger.
God will have Mercy on them.
Surely God is Almighty, All Wise. |
|
72- |
God has promised the believing men and
believing women gardens (in Paradise) below which rivers flow,
in
there they will stay forever and nice mansions in the gardens of
Everlasting bliss.
But the greatest bliss is the satisfaction
from God (about His servants).
That is the supreme success and
achievement. |
|
73- |
O Prophet (Muhammad), strive hard against
the disbelievers and hypocrites and be harsh against them;
their stay will be in Hell and it is a such an evil destination. |
|
74- |
They swear by God that they did not say
anything wrong, but indeed they did say the word of disbelief
and
they disbelieved after accepting Islam and they made efforts on
(the murder of Prophet Muhammad)
which they did not succeed and they
committed (these hostilities)
despite the fact that God and His
Messenger enriched them of His Bounty (material and spiritual
enrichment).
So if they repent, it shall be better for them and
if they turn away;
God will punish them with a painful suffering
in this world and in the Hereafter.
And there is no one on earth to
be a protector or a supporter for them. |
|
75- |
And of them, there are some who promised
God that:
"If He would grant us His bounty, we will definitely
give charity and be among the righteous good people.” |
|
76- |
But then when He gave them of His bounty,
they became stingy (refusing to spend in charity)
and turned
away, avoiding (their promise). |
|
77- |
As a result, He persecuted them with
suffering from confusion and hypocrisy in their hearts,
till the
Day when they shall meet Him, because they broke the promise and
vow
which they had made with God and because they had been lying (all
along). |
|
78- |
Don’t they know that God knows their
secret ideas and their secret whispering conversations
and that
God is the All Knower of all unseen. |
|
79- |
Those who speak against the believers who
give charities
and against those who can not find much to give
except their efforts (in the Cause of God)
and so they make fun
of them, God will throw back their mockery on them and they will
have a painful suffering. |
|
80- |
Whether you (Muhammad) ask forgiveness
for them or not, even if you ask seventy times for their
forgiveness,
God will not forgive them, because they have
disbelieved in God and His messenger.
And God does not guide the
rebellious, trouble-making people. |
|
81- |
Those who stayed behind on their seats (not going along to the defensive war of Tabuk),
contrary to the
advice of the Messenger of God, were happy staying behind
and they hated to
strive and fight with their wealth and their lives in the Cause
of God and said:
“Don’t march in the heat”.
Say: "The Fire of
Hell is more intense in heat”,
if they only could understand it. |
|
82- |
So (now) they can laugh a little, but they will
be weeping and crying a lot
as a consequence of what they had
been earning (by committing sins). |
|
83- |
So if God brings you back to a party of
them (the hypocrites) and then they ask your permission to go
out (to fight),
say:’ You will never go out with me, nor will you ever
fight an enemy with me.
You really were happy to sit (idle) the
first time, so keep sitting with those who stayed behind”. |
|
84- |
And (O Muhammad) never pray for anyone of
them who dies and do not stand at his grave (to pray).
They
indeed disbelieved in God and in His Prophet
and they died while
they were rebellious disobedient trouble-makers. |
|
85- |
And don’t let their properties and
children amaze you (in admiration),
God certainly intends to
punish them by those things in this world
and that their souls
shall pass away while they are disbelievers. |
|
86- |
And when a chapter (of the Quran) is
revealed that you should believe in God and strive hard
and
fight along with His Messenger, the able-bodied wealthy ones of
them asked you of exemption
and they said: “Leave us behind, to be with
those sitting back (at home)." |
|
87- |
They are happy to stay with those (the
women and children) who stayed behind (at home).
Their hearts
are sealed (not allowing any good advice to enter),
so they don’t understand (the importance of guidance and to defend the
society). |
|
88- |
But the Messenger (Muhammad) and those
who believed with him
strove hard and defended (the Muslims) with their possessions and their lives
and those are the ones, for
whom there will be good futures and those are the real successful
achievers. |
|
|
89- |
God has already made ready for them; Gardens
(of Paradise) below which rivers and streams flow,
they
will dwell in there forever.
That is the supreme success and
achievement. |
|
90- |
And those who made excuses from among the
Bedouin Arabs (of the desert),
came (to you Muhammad) to be
exempted (from the defensive battle)
and those who told lies to
God and His Messenger, sat (at home) also.
Those among them, who
disbelieved and were hiding the truth, a painful suffering will hit
them. |
|
91- |
There is no blame or hardship intended for the
weak or sick persons,
or for those who do not find any resources
to spend (in the Cause of God),
when they are sincere and true
to God and His Messenger.
(Of course) there is no blame on good
acting people
and God is the Very Forgiving, Most Merciful (to good
people). |
|
92- |
There is no blame or hardship also on those who came to
you to be provided with some ride to carry them (to battle),
to
whom you said: “I don’t find any means of transportation to carry you on (now),”
whereupon they turned back and their eyes were overflowing
with tears, in sorrow and sadness,
because they did not have or could find the means to spend (in the cause of God). |
|
93- |
Of course, blame is only on those who ask
you for exemption while they are rich and resourceful.
They are
just happy to be with those (women and children) left behind
and
God placed seal on their hearts (because of their unwillingness), so
they don't know (what they are missing). |
|
94- |
They (the hypocrites) will present
excuses to you (Muslims) when you return (from the battle) to
them.
Say: "Don't make excuses, we will never believe you.
God
has indeed informed us of your news.
God and His Messenger will
observe your behavior.
After all that, you will be brought (after
death) to the All Knower of the unseen and the visible,
He will
then inform you of what you had been doing". |
|
95- |
They will swear to God for you when you
return to them, to leave them alone.
So leave them alone (for
good).
Certainly they are evil impure and their destination is
Hell,
as the consequence of what they used to earn (in evil
deeds). |
|
96- |
They (the hypocrites) swear to you
(Muslims) that you will be pleased with them,
but then even if
you become pleased with them, God is not pleased with the
disobedient people. |
|
97- |
The (hypocrites of the) Bedouin Arabs are
the most intense in disbelief and hypocrisy
and more likely to
ignore the limits (of Law) that God has revealed to His
Messenger
and God is All Knowing, All Wise. |
|
98- |
And from among the Bedouin Arabs, there are some
who perceives what he spends (in God's Cause,)
as a fine and
expectantly wishes cycles of calamities for you.
To them shall
be the vicious cycles of evil (thought and evil behavior).
And
God is All Hearing, All Knowing (of thoughts, behaviors and
their interactions). |
|
99- |
Also from among the Bedouin Arabs, are
those who believe in God and the Last Day (of Judgment)
and
look upon what they spend (in the Cause of God) as means of
nearness to God
and a cause of well-wishing prayers by the
Messenger.
Indeed these (offerings and prayers) are a means of
nearness (to God) for them.
God shall admit them in to His
Mercy.
Certainly God is Very Forgiving, Most Merciful (to good
people) |
|
100- |
As for the first forerunners of the
emigrants
(from Mecca, because of persecution against the
Muslims by the polytheists) and as for the helpers
(in Medina
who accepted and gave aid to the Muslims there)
and those who
followed taking care of them with kindness,
God is pleased with
them and they are pleased with Him and He has prepared Gardens
(of Paradise)
for them, blow which streams and rivers flow, in
which they will dwell forever.
That is the supreme success and
achievement. |
|
101- |
And from among the Bedouin Arabs around
you (Muslims) there are hypocrites
and from some of the people
of Medina, there are those who persist in hypocrisy.
You do not
know them. We know them and We shall punish them twice (in their
lifetime).
Then they will be brought back for a horrible
suffering. |
|
102- |
And there are others who confessed their
sins; they had mixed up their good actions with some bad ones.
May be God will turn unto them in forgiveness.
God is certainly
Very Forgiving, the Most Merciful (to good people) |
|
103- |
Accept from their property alms (for the
poor) to purify them and cleanse them with it and pray for them.
Indeed your prayer (for them) is a means of tranquility for them
and God is All Hearer (of all prayers), All Knowing. |
|
104- |
Don't they know that God is the One Who
accepts apology and repentance from His servants
and accepts
alms-charity (as good deeds to poor people)
and that He is really the One
Repentance-Accepter, Most Merciful (to good people)? |
|
105- |
And (O Muhammad) say: "Keep on doing, God will see your acts and also His Messenger
and the
believers will see that.
And you will be brought back to the All Knower of all the unseen
and the visible (on the Judgment Day).
He will them inform you of what you had been doing. |
|
106- |
And there are others, who are destined to
wait for the Command of God,
whether He will punish them or
turn unto them with forgiveness.
And God is All Knowing,
All Wise. |
|
107- |
As for those who put up a mosque with the
intention to cause harm (in the society)
and disbelief and
disunity among the believers (by double talk)
and as an outpost
for those who had been warring against God ('s religion)
and His
Messenger from before and they even swear that: "We have no
intention other than goodness",
and God knows and witnesses
that they are indeed the liars. |
|
108- |
Never, ever set foot in such a place and do
not stand, nor pray in it.
A mosque that was founded on day one upon piety and
God-consciousness
is more worthy that you set foot in it (to perform prayers),
in which there are men who like to purify
themselves (and others) and God loves those who purify
themselves
(physically and spiritually). |
|
109- |
Is a person who lays the foundation of
his being on solid God-consciousness and piety and His good
acceptance,
better or the one who lays the foundation of his
being at the edge of a crumbling weak slope,
so he tumbles with it (and because of it) down into the Fire of Hell?
And God does not guide those
who do wrong (on purpose). |
|
110- |
The building that they built will not
cease to be a source of doubt within their hearts
until their
hearts are cut into pieces (of anxiety, confusion, instability
or until they die).
And God is All Knowing (of all, including
human psyche and its process), All Wise. |
|
111- |
Indeed God buys from the believers, (the offer of) their lives and their possessions (in
His Cause)
that the Paradise will be their (home).
They
(such believers) fight in the Cause of God, so they kill (the attackers) and
they are killed.
This is a promise in truth that He has willed
upon Himself,
(which is mentioned) in the Torah, the Gospel and the
Quran.
And who could be more faithful to his promise than God?
So be informed of the good news of the result of the deal that
you made with God and that is the great success. |
|
112- |
(The believers are) Those who turn (to God) repeatedly,
worshipping (Him), praising (Him) on and on and they observe fasting,
bow down (in prayer), put their foreheads on ground (in prayer),
encourage and enjoin people to goodness and hinder from
evil behavior,
observe the limits of Law that God has set and so
give good news to (such) believers. |
|
113- |
It is not proper for the prophet and
those who believe to ask God's forgiveness for idol worshippers
(polytheists)
even if they would be close relatives, after it was
clearly explained to them that
(if they continue worshipping others beside God,)
they will be dwellers of Hell. |
|
114- |
And the asking God's Forgiveness by
Abraham for his father was only because of a promise he had made
to him (before).
But when it became clear to him (Abraham) that
he (the father) was an enemy of God ('s religion),
he
dissociated himself from him.
Indeed Abraham was a person who
frequently returned his mind (to God) in humility,
(glorifying
Him,) and he was a patient person. |
|
115- |
And God would never let a people go
astray after He has guided them,
until He has made clear to them
what they should be aware of and avoid
(but they keep on doing the wrong acts any way).
Indeed God is the All Knower of
everything (and all details). |
|
116- |
Certainly God is the One, to Whom belongs the rule and
dominion of the heavens and the earth.
He gives life and causes
death; and other than God, you have no true protector nor a real
supporter. |
|
117- |
God indeed directed His Mercy to the
prophet and the emigrants (Muslims who had left Mecca)
and
(their kind) assistants (in Medina) who followed him (the
prophet) in the difficult time
(of expedition to defensive war
of Tabuk northwards),
after the hearts of a certain number of
them had almost deviated (from following the prophet),
but God turned His Mercy on them
Certainly He is Very
Kind, Most Merciful to them. |
|
118- |
God indeed also forgave the three
persons (who did not join the Tabuk expedition) and remained
behind
till the earth, as vast as it is, it became like a narrow strait
to them
and their own beings became tightened to them
and they perceived then that there is no refuge and shelter from
God ('s punishment),
other than turning back to Him (begging help from Him).
Then He turned His Mercy on them, allowing them to repent and ask His pardon.
Truly
God is the One who accepts repentance often, Most Merciful (to
good people who go back to Him). |
|
119- |
O you who believe, be in awe of God,
aware of Him and be with those who are truthful (in words and
deeds). |
|
120- |
It is not proper for the citizens of the
Medina City,
nor for the Bedouins of its surrounding area to
disobey the Messenger of God,
nor to prefer the importance of his
life over their own lives.
That is because neither thirst nor
fatigue nor hunger in the Cause of God is affecting them
nor do they take any step that makes the disbelievers angry,
nor
do they suffer or gain anything from the enemy,
except that all
is being written and recorded for them as a good deed.
Certainly God
does not distort the reward of the good working people. |
|
121- |
And neither do they spend anything,
little or great, nor do they cross a valley (in the Cause of God)
except that it is written and recorded to their credit,
so that
God will reward them more and better than what they were
achieving. |
|
122- |
And it is not proper for the believers
to go out to fight altogether;
there should then a number
of them of each group (that are left behind,)
to study
extensively in religious laws and instructions so that they
should warn their people when they return to them,
that way, they
be aware (of their duties to God) and to avoid (evil acts). |
|
123- |
O you who believe, fight those of the
disbelievers who are close to you (in battle)
and let them find
ferocity and harshness in you
and know that God is ever with
those who are pious and conscious of Him. |
|
124- |
And whenever a chapter (of the Quran) is
revealed, some of them (the hypocrites or unbelievers) would
say:
"To which of you has this (chapter) increased any faith?"
As for those who believe, it already has increased
their faith
and they are glad of the good news (for them),
rejoicing by it. |
|
125- |
But as for those in whose hearts there
is a disease (of doubt, confusion and hypocrisy),
it will add
further impurity (of disbelief and doubt) to the impurity
which they
already harbor in themselves and they die while refusing and
overlooking the truth. |
|
126- |
Don't they observe that they are being tested (with different kinds of calamities) once or twice every
year,
yet they do not turn into repentance, nor do they learn
any lesson. |
|
127- |
And whenever a chapter is revealed, some of them look at others (thinking):
"Is anyone
seeing you (us)?"
Then turn away (in rejection).
God let their heart
turn away because they are the kind of people who do not (want
to) understand
(by their total rejection). |
|
128- |
Indeed a Messenger (Muhammad) has come
to you from amongst yourselves;
it saddens him whatever causes
you to suffer or hurt,
he is anxious for your improvements, full
of kindness and mercy on the believers. |
|
129- |
But if they turn away, (O Muhammad) say:
God is Sufficient for me, there is no one worthy of worship but
He.
In Him I have put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty
Dominion (of all). |
:This is the only chapter in Quran which
does not start with
1
The four months, in which wars were prohibited
3
Spiritually unclean,
because they believe in more than One God and physically unclean,
because they do not cleanse themselves of urine, stool or blood, etc
Ancient Greeks believed Zeus (God of gods)
sent his son Apollo to earth with the winged horse Pegasus. Romans and
later Paul and other Christians presumed similar beliefs, this time in
the name of Jesus as son of God.
5
Many churches own vast empires, in the hands of a few
priests, who spread the illogical concept of Trinity, which is never
mentioned in the Bible
