Abraham - Chapter 14
|
Contains 52 Verses – Mecca |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious the Most Merciful
|
|
|
1- |
Alif-Lam-Raa (From Allah = God to Rasool =
Messenger);
This is a book that We have sent down to you so that
you might lead mankind out of darkness
(of ignorance and
disbelief) into the light (of perception, knowledge and piety)
by the permission of their Lord towards the path of the
Almighty, All Praiseworthy, |
|
2- |
God to whom belongs whatever is in the
heavens and the earth.
And woe to the disbelievers about a severe
punishment (which awaits them), |
|
3- |
Those who prefer the life of this world
over the Hereafter life and stop (people) from God’s way (Islam)
and try to find crookedness (something wrong) in it; they are astray
very far. |
|
4- |
And We did not send any Messenger except
by the language of his folks
so that he might make the Message
clear to them.
And so God leaves astray whomever He wills (since the
person insists in disbelief)
and guides whom He wants (and he or she wants);
and He is
the Almighty, the All Wise. |
|
5- |
Indeed We sent Moses with Our signs (of
guidance saying):
“Get your people out of the darkness into the
light (of understanding)
and mention to them the historic
events-periods of God’s religion
(what happened to the
Messengers and their people).
Certainly in (studying) these
(events), there are important lessons
for all who are very
patient (in adversity) and very grateful (to God). |
|
6- |
And (remember) when Moses told his people:
“Remember God’s Mercy upon you, when He delivered you from the
adherents (followers) of the Pharaoh,
who kept torturing you
badly and used to slaughter your sons (to cutoff your
generation)
and letting your women alive (to use them as
maids); and in this, there was a tremendous trial from your
Lord.” |
|
7- |
Remember also when your Lord stated:
“If you become grateful, I will
increase (My Blessings) for you,
but if you disrespect and
become ungrateful and reject (My Guidance),
then My punishment will be very severe.” |
|
8- |
And Moses said: ”If you reject and disbelieve
and become ungrateful, all of you
and whoever is on earth,
then (you must know that) certainly God is
Needless (of all of you) and He is Ever Praiseworthy.” |
|
9- |
Has the news of the people before you not
reached you yet,
the people of Noah, Aad, and Thamud and those after
them?
Nobody knows them except God.
Their Messengers came to
them with clear lessons (for good behavior),
but they put their
hands in their mouth (of the Messengers to prevent them from
speaking) and said:
“We firmly disbelieve and reject the message
that you were sent with
and we are in doubt about that which you
invite us to accept.)
1 |
|
|
10- |
Their Messengers said: “Is there any
doubt about God, the Originator of the heavens and the earth?
He
calls you to forgive your sins and to give you a chance
till a (later) predetermined date (of your passing)”.
They
responded saying: “You are no more than human beings like us,
you want to stop us
from worshiping what our forefathers used
to worship, so come up with some clear proof.” |
|
|
11- |
Their Messenger said to them:
“We are certainly
human beings like you, but God grants His Grace and Favor (of
prophethood)
to whomever of His servants He wills and there
is no way we could come up to you with an authority
or proof
except by the Permission of God and in God should place the
believers their trust.” |
|
12- |
“And why shouldn’t we put our trust in
God who indeed has guided us in our ways?
And we shall certainly
bear with patience all the hurt that you can cause on us
and of
course in God should place their trust, all those who have any hope and
trust.” |
|
13- |
And the disbelievers told their
Messengers: “We shall drive you out of our land or you shall
revert to our religion.
Then their lord revealed to them: “We
will certainly destroy the unjust evildoers.” |
|
14- |
And we shall settle you in the land
after their passing;
this favor is for persons who fear
disobeying My Authority and are fearful of My threat.” |
|
15- |
And they (the Messengers and believers)
asked (God) for prevailing them
and all the persistent tyrants and dictators got utterly lost
and destroyed. |
|
16- |
Beyond his loss and destruction, he
face the Hell and will be given a festering water to drink. |
|
17- |
Such person will sip it (the festering
water), but can hardly swallow it
and feeling of death will
reach him from every direction but he will not die
and beyond
that, he will face yet a severe suffering. |
|
|
18- |
The example of people who deny their
Lord, is that their activities are like ashes,
on which the wind
blows strongly on a stormy day,
they can't keep any benefit at
all of what they earned and that is (the result of) straying far
away
(from the correct attitude). |
|
19- |
Don’t you see that God has created the
Heavens and the earth for (the expression of) the Truth.
If He decides, He would remove you (from the face of the earth) and bring
on a new creation. |
|
20- |
And that is not hard or difficult for
God. |
|
21- |
And (on the day of resurrection) all the
people will appear before God,
then the weak ones will tell the
arrogant one: “ We have indeed been your followers (during our
life on earth),
can you then now help us out of God’s punishment
at all?”
They (the arrogant chiefs) would say:” If God had guided us, we would have certainly guided you also.
Now it is the
same if we cry aloud, complaining or bear the punishment with
patience,
at any rate there is no route of escape available to
us”. |
|
22- |
And Satan shall say after the judgment is
passed:
” Truly God promised you a True promise and I too
promised you, but I betrayed you.
And I had no force over you,
except that I just invited and tempted you (to evil doings) and
you accepted.
So now don’t blame me, but blame yourselves.
I
can't help you out and you can't help me either.
I deny and refuse
your previous associating of power and authority for me
(besides
God and that you followed me instead of Him).
In fact the
unjust oppressors (of the truth) will have a painful suffering." |
|
23- |
And those who believed and did righteous
good works, will be admitted into gardens,
down where streams
and rivers flow,
permanently staying there with the permission
of their Lord, their greetings there will be “Peace" (to each
other). |
|
24- |
Haven’t you noticed how God gives an
example?:
A nice word is like a good tree whose root is firmly
fixed and its branches reach high towards the sky, |
|
25- |
Giving fruits every season by the Permission
and the Grace
of its Lord and God gives examples for mankind,
so that they
might come to deeply think and remember. |
|
26- |
And the example of an evil and dirty word is like a
bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, with no
stability. |
|
27- |
God, by good words and speech, makes the
believers firm and stable
during their life
in this world and in
the Hereafter
and leaves the unjust oppressors of truth (shaky)
in their error.
And God puts in action what He decides upon. |
|
28- |
Haven’t you observed those who have
exchanged the Blessings of God
2
(belief in One God, His Messenger
and the Hereafter) with disbelief and ingratitude
(such as
worshipping Jesus or other entities) and caused their folks to
enter the place of total loss (the Hell)?
3 |
|
29- |
It is the Hell, in which they will burn
(with severe regret) and what an awful place to settle in. |
|
30- |
And they fabricated (by talking, paintings,
statues, idols etc.) equals to God
to mislead people
from His True Path.
Say (O Messenger): “Enjoy for a while (what you are doing), but
your destination will be the (Hell) Fire. |
|
31- |
(O Muhammad), say to My servants who have
believed, to
perform regular prayers
and to spend in charity from what We
have given them (in wealth, knowledge) in secret or openly,
before the day comes in which there will be neither trading (of
deeds), nor befriending
(to vouch or bail for one another). |
|
32- |
God is the One Who created the heavens
and the earth (not anyone else)
and He sends down (in showers)
water from the sky
and has produced thereby fruits as foods and
sustenance for you.
And He has made possible the ships to be in
your service,
sailing and running on the sea by His Permission
and He
has made rivers to be of service to you (by boating or building
dams etc.) |
|
33- |
And He has made the sun and the moon of service for you,
each one pursuing constantly they courses of movement
and He has
made the night and the day to be of service to you. |
|
34- |
And He gave you of all that you asked Him
for
and if you would count the Blessings of God,
you won't be able to count them all.
Indeed, the humankind is very unjust and
very ungrateful. |
|
35- |
And (O Muhammad, remind people) when Abraham
prayed by saying:
“O my Lord, make this town (Mecca) a
place of peace and safety and keep me and my son from
worshipping idols.” |
|
36- |
“O my Lord, they (the idols) have confused and misled
a lot of people.
But then whoever follows me (in worshipping you
the Only One God), then that person is of me (of my religion)
and whoever disobeys me, of course You are the One Who is the
Very Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” |
|
37- |
“O our Lord, I settled some of my
offspring in an uncultivated valley without farming, by Your Scared House
(of
worship, The Kaaba), o our Lord, so that they may perform regular
prayers.
So please make some peoples’ hearts to observe with
kindness upon them
and please provide them with fruits and
produces, that they might become grateful.” |
|
38- |
“O our Lord, certainly You know what we
conceal and what we reveal
and nothing is ever hidden from God
in earth or in heaven.” |
|
39- |
“All praise and thanks be to God who gave me
Ishmael and Isaac in old age.
Certainly my Lord is All Hearer of prayers and all requests”. |
|
40- |
“O my Lord, keep me on performing prayers
regularly and also keep members of my offspring praying,
and
our Lord, accept
my prayer and requests” |
|
41- |
"Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and
all the believers on the Day when the Reckoning is established
to proceed.” |
|
42- |
Don’t ever think that God is unaware of what
the unjust oppressors (of truth) and evil people do,
in fact He
gives them time (and chance to improve themselves) for the Day
(of Reckoning)
when the eyes will stare in horror. |
|
43- |
They will be hurrying forward with their
necks and heads raised up,
their eyes are not looking towards each other (since they are
staring),
and their hearts are empty (of any hope, full of fear). |
|
44- |
(O Muhammad) warn mankind of the Day
when suffering will reach them,
then the evildoers will say: “O
our Lord, give us a little more chance and time,
we will respond
to Your Call (for Guidance) and will follow Your Messengers”
(They will be asked) “Weren’t you the ones who before swore that
you won't leave (the world for the Hereafter)
