The
Prophets (of God) - Chapter 21
|
Contains 112 Verses – Mecca |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious the Most Merciful
ذ |
|
|
|
1- |
The time for people's Reckoning is getting
ever nearer,
while they turn away (form hearing about the coming
events) in a state of carelessness. |
|
2- |
Not a single reminder from their Lord,
explanation (by Muhammad) reaches them,
but that they keep on
amusing themselves while they listen to it (carelessly), |
|
3- |
Their hearts and minds are occupied with
minor unimportant matters and those who have been doing wrong,
whisper to
each other, saying: “Is this (Muhammad) any more than a human
being like you?
Are you going to submit then to magic while you
see it openly?” |
|
4- |
He (Muhammad) said: “My Lord is aware of any
word spoken in the heaven
and on the earth
and He alone is All Hearing, All Knowing. |
|
5- |
5- They even said :”They (these
Revelations) are
most confusing dreams.
They even said: “He invented them, he is a poet.
Let
him then present a proof and miracle like the previous ones were
sent with”. |
|
|
6- |
None of the town folks, which We
destroyed , had believed before them
(even though We had sent
them miracle and proof with their prophet).
Will these then come
to believe? |
|
7- |
And We did not send (as Messenger) before
you but as a man (like you, O Muhammad),
to whom We made Revelations.
So ask the people familiar with Scripture if you (the
unbelievers) don’t know. |
|
8- |
And We did not create them (the
Messengers) with bodies that did not (need to) eat food, nor
were they immortals. |
|
9- |
Ultimately We made good Our Promise to
them, so We saved them and all those whom We wanted to save
and
We destroyed those who wasted their lives and their beings. |
|
10- |
We have indeed sent down for you
(mankind) a Book (the Quran) , containing all that you should
bear in mind.
Wouldn’t you then not think and use your reasoning
(about it)? |
|
11- |
11- And how many communities
that persisted in wrongdoing,
We demolished and raised up
another people after that. |
|
12- |
Soon as they sensed Our imminent
punishment, they then tried to flee from it. |
|
13- |
“But don’t flee and go back to the place,
in which you lived in luxurious life and to your homes,
so that
you would be questioned there”. |
|
|
14- |
They cried: “Woe to us, we had really
been unjust (in our behavior)”. |
|
|
15- |
And this kind of their cries and
expressions continued
till We caused them to become like a field
mowed down, silent and extinct. |
|
16- |
And We did not create the heaven and
the earth and whatever in between them for idle play. |
|
17- |
If We wanted to indulge in pastime, We
would have certainly produced it on Our Own,
if We had wanted it
at all (without the creation of the heaven and the earth). |
|
18- |
Not so, but We aim the truth
(to be demonstrated clearly) against the
falsehood
(such as disbelief, idol worship, worshipping anyone or
anything other than the Creator),
so that it (the truth) abolishes and destroys it (the falsehood)
and then it shall wither away.
And woe unto you because of what you describe (God as having
wife or son or partner or any other lies). |
|
19- |
Whereas to Him belongs all that is in the
heavens and the earth and those who are at His service
(such as the
angelic forces which He created),
never feel too proud (like
many humans) to obediently worship Him
and never become weary or
tired in doing so. |
|
|
20- |
They glorify Him by doing their duties
night and day, never interrupting their duties. |
|
|
21- |
And yet some people choose to worship
certain things of the earth,
which they suppose to be able to create and spread. |
|
22- |
If there were any gods other than God in
there (in the creation or control of the heavens and earth, by
counteractions)
they both (the heavens and the earth) would have
become ruined.
Therefore above and beyond all is God, Who is the True
Lord in control of the dominion of the universe,
of what they
(the disbelievers try to) describe (Him, as having partner, son,
etc). |
|
23- |
He is not to be questioned of
what He does, whereas they will be called to account. |
|
24- |
Yet do they choose to worship gods other than
Him?
Say: “Bring and show up your proof (of the gods’ divinity).
This Reminder (the Quran) is for those who are with me
(believing in the One God)
and the reminder about those
(Prophets and believers) before me".
Still most of them do not
know the truth and so they stubbornly turn away from it. |
|
25- |
And We had not sent any Messenger before
you,
except by revealing to him that there is really no deity
except Me.
Therefore worship Me alone (and no one else). |
|
26- |
And they (the disbelievers) said: “the
Most Gracious God has begotten a son (or
children)”. 1
Glory too Him, He is above and beyond all that.
(They are not His son or children,) but they are merely honored servants
(of Him). |
|
27- |
They do not speak before He does and they act according to His Command. |
|
28- |
He knows all that is ahead of them and what
is behind them (in their past)
and they
would not intercede to accompany except for those to whom He has
already granted His acceptance
and they themselves are very much in
awe of Him. |
|
29- |
And if anyone of them were to say: “I am
a god beside Him”,
that one We retaliate with Hell.
Thus We punish the unjust evildoers. |
|
30- |
Don’t those who disbelieve,
realize that
in fact the heavens and the earth were originally one piece of
creation, joined together,
We then split them apart?
And the fact that We made all living beings from water?
Will they still
not come to believe?
(in the creator and in these truly miraculous expressions of the
Quran, by the Creator)
2 |
|
31- |
Also We have set up firm mountains on earth
to prevent it (the earth) from moving them excessively,
and We arranged on it
(on the earth), broad paths, so that they might find their way. |
|
|
32- |
And that We have made the sky as a
well-protected roof (over the earth),
3
Yet they
(the disbelievers) turn away from the signs of that (creation
and God’s Revelations in the Quran). |
|
|
33- |
And the fact that He is the One Who
created the cycle of the night and the day,
the sun and the
moon, all circling in specific orbits. |
|
34- |
And We did not grant eternal life to any
human being before you (here on earth).
So then when you
(Muhammad) die, are they (the disbelievers) going to be
eternally alive? |
|
35- |
Every human being is going to ultimately
taste death
and We test you (all) through the bad and good
situations of life as trial and to Us you all shall be returned. |
|
36- |
And yet when those who deny the truth,
see you, they don’t consider you but as a target of mockery,
saying: “Is this the man who speaks badly of your gods (idols)?”.
And yet they are the ones who deny and refuse the mention of The
Most Gracious (God). |
|
37- |
Mankind is a creature of haste, but (in time) I
shall make clear to you the truth of My Message,
so do not ask
Me to hasten (your ultimate destiny). |
|
38- |
And they keep on asking:
“When
is this promise (of Judgment) going to take place, if you (people
who believe in it ) are being truthful?” |
|
|
39- |
If they only knew, those who deny the
truth,
the time when they will not be able to ward off the Fire
from their faces,
nor from their backs and they won’t have any
help. |
|
40- |
But (they haven’t seen anything yet,)
this calamity will reach them suddenly,
so that it will amaze and surprise them and they will have no
means to hold it off,
nor
will they be given any chance (any more to repent: too late) |
|
41- |
Indeed other prophets before you
(Muhammad) were made fun of also, but then those who made fun of
them,
were caught by the same punishment that they used to mock about. |
|
42- |
Say “Who can protect you from the
punishment of the Most Gracious (God) at night or during the day?”
But they even turn away from the mention of their Lord (Creator). |
|
43- |
Do they have any gods besides Us who could
guard them from Us.
They have no power to help themselves, nor
can they be aided by Us (to guard them). |
|
44- |
But We granted them and their ancestors a
good life, even long life.
But do they not see that We are
gradually reducing the land which We gave them, from its borders
(by their loosing their battles against Muslims)?
Are they still
having the upper hand? |
|
45- |
Say “I am indeed warning you by the
Revelation of God”.
Yet the deaf (in heart) will not hear the
call when they are warned, no matter what. |
|
46- |
And by the time a breath blow (sudden
episode) of the
punishment of your Lord touches them,
they will surely realize
and say:
“Woe to us, we have indeed been unjust, wrong doers”. |
|
|
47- |
And We shall establish the balances of
justice and fairness for the Day of Resurrection,
so that no one
will be dealt with unjustly at all in any matter.
And if there
were the little weight of a mustard seed (of their deeds),
We will bring it up
and We are sufficient how to account (for peoples' deeds). |
|
48- |
And indeed We granted the Criterion (of
right and wrong in the Torah) to Moses and Aaron
and as a
shining light and a reminder for pious, God-conscious persons. |
|
49- |
Those who feel awe from their Lord, (their Creator),
fearing to disobey him, without seeing Him, and they
also are very worried about the Judgment Time. |
|
50- |
And this Quran is a blessed reminder, which
we have sent down.
Are you then going to
reject it? |
|
51- |
And We had indeed granted Abraham his
progress by guidance before (he was appointed as a prophet)
and
We had been Well Aware of him. |
|
52- |
When he told his father and his folks
“What are these images and statues which you so devoutly worship?” |
|
53- |
They said: “We found our fathers
worshipping them.” |
|
54- |
He said: “Indeed you and your fathers
have been in an obvious error.” |
|
55- |
They asked saying “Have you come up with
truth or are you playing and joking?” |
|
56- |
He Said: “But in reality your True Lord
is the Lord Creator of the Heavens and the earth,
Who
originated, designed, and created them and I am one of the
witnesses to this truth”. |
|
57- |
“And by God, I shall have a plan for your
idols, after you have gone out and have turned your back.” |
|
58- |
He then broke them into pieces, except their big one, so that they might
turn back to it (about what happened). |
|
59- |
They asked, saying: “Who did this to our
gods? He must be one of the wrong doers.” |
|
|
60- |
Some said: “We heard a young man talking
about them, he is called Abraham.” |
|
61- |
They said: “Bring him before the eyes of
the people so that they may recognize and testify against him” |
|
|
62- |
They said: “Are you the one who did this
to our gods, O you Abraham?” |
|
63- |
He (Abraham) said: “Perhaps the largest
of them did this, so ask them, if they can speak.” |
|
64- |
So they turned back to themselves (thinking
about it,) then said:
"You are
truly the unreasonable – unjust people”. |
|
65- |
Then they scratched their heads,
confused, saying: “You (Abraham) knew well that these idols are
unable to talk.” |
|
66- |
He (Abraham) said: “Do you then worship
other than God, any that can neither benefit nor harm you?” |
|
67- |
“Shame on you and for those things
that you worship other than God. Why don’t you use your
reasoning?” |
|
68- |
They (the devoted idol worshippers and their
leaders) said
“Burn Him and help (rebuild) your gods, if you are going to do
anything.” |
|
69- |
We (God) said: “O fire, become coolness
and safety for Abraham!” |
|
70- |
And they had planed to harm him, but We
made them the worst losers. |
|
71- |
And We rescued him and (his nephew) Lot
(guiding them) to the land
which We have blessed it for the
people of the world. |
|
72- |
And We bestowed upon him Isaac and a
grandson Jacob as an additional Blessing (from Us)
and We made them all as righteous men. |
|
73- |
And We made them leaders guiding mankind
by Our Command
and We revealed to them the act of doing good
deeds
and establishing of regular prayers and the giving of
charity and they were worshippers of Us (Alone). |
َ
|
74- |
And as for Lot, We gave him correct
judgment and prophet hood and knowledge
and We rescued him from
the town (folks) who practiced evil acts.
They were in fact an
evil group who indulged in rebellious acts. |
|
75- |
And We admitted him (Lot) in Our Mercy,
as he was indeed of the righteous ones. |
|
76- |
And (remind them of) Noah, when long
before all that, he called (upon Us),
so We answered and
accepted his call and prayer and saved him and his family from
the great distress. |
|
77- |
And We helped him out from the people who
denied Our guiding Verses.
They were in fact an evil people.
So
We drowned them all. |
|
78- |
And (remind them of) David and Solomon,
when they were giving judgment regarding he harvest of a farm field,
in which
the sheep of certain people pastured off (at night) and We were
Witness to their judgment.
4 |
|
79- |
And We made Solomon to understand the
case and to each of them We granted judgment and knowledge.
And
We subjected the mountains and the birds along with David to
sing Our glory.
And We made that possible.
(such as the echo from the mountains with the songs of David
which caused the birds to sing God’s glory together.) |
|
80- |
And We taught him (David) the knowledge of
making of metal coats of armor,
to protect you (long after him) in
your battles.
Are you then being grateful? |
|
81- |
And to Solomon (We subjected) the wind,
blowing strongly,
moving by his command towards the land
which We had blessed
and We have been All Aware of all things
and situations.
5 |
|
82- |
And from the evil ones, We subjected for him,
those who dived for him (in the sea)
and did other
works besides that and We had been guarding over them |
|
83- |
And (mention also) Job as he prayed to
his Lord:
“(O my Lord,) distress has really seized me, but You are
the Most Merciful of all those who are kind”. |
|
|
84- |
So We answered His prayer and We
removed the distress that was on him
and We restored his family back to him and doubled their number
like them,
as a Mercy and
Grace from Us directly
and as a lesson and reminder for those
who worship Us (that God responds to true prayers). |
|
85- |
And (mention) Ishmael and Enoch and
Ezekiel who all were patient (prophets). |
|
|
86- |
And We admitted them in Our Mercy as they
were really righteous persons. |
|
87- |
And (mention) Dhunnon (Jonah) when he
left (his stubborn folk) angrily
and thought that We would not overpower
him (back in the duty of prophethood).
But then (when he was
washed offshore and got in the jaw of a big fish,)
he called Us
and prayed in the darkness( of water, in his heart):
“There is
really no one worthy of worship and prayer except You (O God
Almighty),
all glory and control is by You, I have been one
unjust wrongdoer.” |
|
88- |
So We answered his prayer and rescued him
from the distress (the big fish released him and he was washed
ashore)
and thus We rescue real believers. |
|
89- |
And (mention) Zachary, when he called
and prayed to his Lord:
“O my Lord, do not leave me lonely
without offspring as You are the Best who give inheritance". |
|
90- |
So We answered his prayer and We gifted
John to him and cured his wife
(who was barren, to become able
to bear a child) for him.
They (the family) were indeed people
who were quick in doing good works
and they used to call us in
loving adoration and in awe and they were humble to Us. |
|
91- |
And (mention also) the woman (Mary) who
protected her chastity
and We breathed in her being of Our
spirit ( for the creation of Jesus)
and We made her and her son
as a Miracle for the mankind.
6 |
|
92- |
Certainly this religion of yours is one
Unitarian religion, and I am your Lord, so worship only Me
Alone.
(all Prophets said the same: Focus your
attention to God and do not worship any except God: there is no god but
God). |
|
|
93- |
But they (humans) broke up in the matter
of their religion among themselves.
They will ultimately all
return to Us (for questioning on the Resurrection Day). |
|
|
94- |
So whoever does righteous good works and
deeds and he (or she) is a real believer
(in the One God, this Message and
the the Afterlife),
of course there will be no denying or
rejecting for his efforts
and We certainly are recording all his
(or her) deeds and actions. |
|
95- |
And it is forbidden for any townsfolk
which We destroyed to return, so that they shall not return (to this
world). 7 |
|
96- |
Until when Gog and Magog will be let loose
and they will inflict down (on people) from every
hill.
8 |
|
97- |
And the true promise (the Day of Resurrection) draws near,
at which time it will startle the eyes
of the nonbelievers, (who would be saying);
"Woe to us, we really were
neglecting this, we were even unjust (in our views, judgment and behavior
to ourselves). |
|
98- |
Certainly you (disbelievers) and whatever you worship other than God,
will be a fuel for the Hellfire which you definitely be arriving in! |
|
99- |
If these (objects and entities of your
worship) were real gods, they would not be entering it (the Hell),
and
all of them will stay in there permanently. |
|
|
100- |
They will have (to bear) in there loud
moaning and shrieks so that they can not hear (anything else)
in there. |
|
101- |
Of course those people who were endowed previously (during their life on earth)
by Our Goodness (Our
guidance), they will be kept far away from it (the hell).
9 |
|
102- |
They shall not hear even the slightest
sound of it (of the Hell)
and they are going to remain in whatever good condition
(in Paradise) which they desire. |
|
|
103- |
The greatest terror (at the Day of
Resurrection and the awful condition of the evildoers) will
cause them no grief
and the angels will receive them with the
greeting:
“This is your Day of success and triumph which you were promised”. |
|
104- |
On that Day, We shall roll up the sky as
written scrolls are rolled up,
just as We brought it into being at the
first creation,
We shall do it again.
This is a promise whose fulfillment is on
Us.
Which We are certainly going to do it. |
|
105- |
And indeed we recorded in the Psalms,
after the Reminder (to Moses, the Torah)
that My righteous
servants shall ultimately inherit the (control of the) earth. |
|
106- |
Truly in this statement there is a far
reaching message for people who truly worship Me. |
|
|
107- |
And (along this line) We have sent you
(O Muhammad) only as a mercy and grace for all the inhabitants of
the worlds. |
|
108- |
(O Muhammad) say:
“It has been revealed
to me that your God is the One and only God;
will you then
submit yourselves to Him as Muslims?” |
|
109- |
But if they turn away, say (to them): “
I have announced this to you in a fair manner
and I do not know
(the Judgment) which is promised to you by God is near or far”. |
|
110- |
“Indeed He (God) knows all that is
spoken aloud and all that you would conceal and hide”. |
|
|
111- |
"And I also do not know perhaps this
(delaying God’s Judgment) is a further trial
and a merciful
chance for a while (to correct yourselves)”. |
|
112- |
He said : “The Lord is Best to judge in
truth (Our Lord, You are the Best One to Judge, in truth)
and that our Lord is the Most Gracious,
the One, Whose
help is ever needed and requested against all the fabrication
that you ascribe
(unto Him, such as He has a son or daughters or
that this Quran is made up by me, etc.)” |
Such as the illogical assumption
of the trinity.
2
Recent scientific studies came to the same conclusion and named
it “The Big Bang”.
3
With Layers of spheres such as
the atmosphere, the ozone- layer etc.
Spirit comes to being by the Command of God: ”Say: .the spirit is
brought to being by the Command of my Lord and you (humans) are
not endowed of its knowledge except a little.” 17:85
7
That is: no
reincarnation!
8
Gog and Magog
is referred to like evil people of the past who had no
inhibitions who would commit any kind of promiscuity, violence
and crime. We are observing similar phenomena now a days, when
media channels and networks of such evil people, as they are
attacking the minds of humankind, especially the young innocent
minds. These movies and shows are causing illicit sex,
illegitimate children and violence even at schools and
universities.
9
Good people such as Jesus, even though they are worshipped, they
will be kept away from hell as they were good servants of God.
