Translation of the Holy Quran by Dr.
Gilani |
Poets - Chapter 26
|
Contains 227 Verses – Mecca |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious the
Most Merciful |
|
|
2- |
These are the Verses of the explaining
Book (the Quran). |
|
3- |
You (Muhammad) are almost destroying
yourself with grief
because they (your people) are not becoming
to be believers. |
|
4- |
If We wanted, We would send down to them a
sign from the sky,
to which they would bend down their necks in
humility. |
|
5- |
And not a single reminder from the Most
Gracious (God) is revealed to them, but that they turn away from it. |
|
6- |
So they have indeed rejected and claimed
(the Revelation) as a lie,
therefore the (bad) news of what they
made fun of, will reach them. |
|
7- |
Don’t they observe and look at the earth,
how many nice plants We caused to grow in there? |
|
8- |
Certainly in this phenomenon, there is a
sign (to appreciate their Creator), but the majority of them are
not believers. |
|
9- |
And in reality your Lord is the
All Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
|
10- |
And (remember) when your Lord called
Moses saying:
“Go to the unjust behaving people (who worship
other than God and are cruel)", |
|
11- |
The people of the Pharaoh, trying to see
if they do not become conscious and mindful of Me. |
|
12- |
He said: “My Lord, I really fear that
they will reject me and call me a liar,” |
|
13- |
“And I get tightness in my chest and my
tongue does not express well.
So please send for Aaron (my
brother, to help me)”.
2 |
|
14- |
“And they have a charge of crime and
felony against me, so I am afraid that they would kill me”.
3 |
|
15- |
God said: “No, (no excuses) So both of you go
with Our Signs and Miracles;
We shall be with you,
listening everything”. |
|
16- |
So both of you arrive at the
Pharaoh’s place and say:
“We are Messengers of the Lord of all the
worlds, with all that exist”. |
|
17- |
“We are asking you to let the Children of Israel
go with us”. |
|
18- |
(The Pharaoh) said:
“Did we not bring you (Moses) up among us as a son and you spent so much of your
life inside our household?”. |
|
19- |
“And you did the act which you did,
(killing a man) and now you are a thankless person”. |
|
20- |
Moses said:
“I did it then, when I was
misled (by an Israelite who had animosity with the victim and
had called for help)”. |
|
21- |
So I fled from you when I feared you.
But
since then, my Lord has granted me proper judgment of the
affairs and prophethood
and made me one of the Messengers. |
|
22- |
And is this a favor on me that you claim,
having enslaved the children of Israel?” |
|
23- |
The Pharaoh said: “What is then the Lord
of all the worlds?” |
|
|
24- |
Moses replies: “The Lord of the heavens
and the earth and whatever all in between them, if you want to
be certain”. |
|
25- |
The Pharaoh said to those around him:
“Are you listening (to what he is saying)?” |
|
26- |
Moses kept saying: “Your Lord and the
Lord of your ancient forefathers”. |
|
27- |
The Pharaoh said: “This Messenger of yours
that was sent to you, is indeed a real crazy men”. |
|
28- |
Moses continued saying: “The Lord of the
east and the west and all that is in between them,
if you would
just use your reasoning and understand”. |
|
29- |
The Pharaoh said: “If you choose a God
other me, I shall certainly put you among those who are
imprisoned”. |
|
30- |
Moses asked: “Even if I come up to you
with convincing things?” |
|
31- |
The Pharaoh said: “Then bring it on, if
you are being truthful”. |
|
32- |
So he (Moses) threw his stick and suddenly,
it became an evident serpent. |
|
33- |
He also drew his hand out (of his pocket)
and then it was shining white to the onlookers. |
|
34- |
The Pharaoh said to those around him:
“This is indeed a very knowledgeable sorcery magician". |
|
35- |
“He intends to get you out of your land
by his witchcraft and sorcery, so what you want to be down?”
|
|
|
36- |
They said: “Keep him and his brother off
for a while and assign callers the cities”. |
|
37- |
“To bring to you each and every
well-knowledgeable, skilled sorcerer”. |
|
38- |
So the sorcerers were assembled at a
fixed time of an appointed day. |
|
39- |
And it was announced to people: “Are you
coming all together?” |
|
40- |
So that we may support and follow the
sorcerers (of the Pharaoh) if they become the winners”. |
|
41- |
So when the sorcerers arrived, they asked
the Pharaoh:
”Is there for sure going to be rewards for us, if
we become the winners?” |
|
42- |
He said: “Yes, and you even become close
(to me in my court)”. |
|
43- |
Moses told them: “Now throw whatever
stuff you are going to throw”. |
|
44- |
Then they threw their magic ropes and
their sticks and said:
“By the might of the Pharaoh, it is we
who will certainly win”. |
|
45- |
Then Moses threw his stick and then it
swallowed up all that they had falsely presented. |
|
46- |
Thereafter the sorcerers fell down in
prostrating their forehead to the ground (in prostration to God). |
|
47- |
They said: “We believe in the Lord of all
worlds”. |
48- |
“The Lord of Moses and Aaron”. |
|
49- |
(the Pharaoh angrily) said: “You have
believed in him before I give you permission?
Surely he must be
your chief, who taught you sorcery, so you shall certainly know
(what I am going to do to you).
I will of course cut off your
hands, and your feet on opposite side and I will crucify you
all”. |
|
50- |
They said: “No problem, we are of course
returning to our Lord”. |
|
51- |
“We really hope and wish that our Lord
will forgive our sins, as we are the first and foremost of the
believers”. |
|
52- |
And We revealed to Moses, saying:
“Do
depart during the night with My servants, as you certainly will
be pursued and followed”. |
|
53- |
Then the Pharaoh sent recruiters to the
cities to assemble people, |
|
54- |
(Telling them:) “These are only a small
band”. |
|
55- |
“Which have really enraged us”. |
|
56- |
"But we are all ready (to counter them)”. |
|
57- |
But We expelled them (the Pharaoh and his
gang) from the gardens and the springs, |
|
58- |
And from the treasures and high status (in their
society), |
|
59- |
So it was and We caused the Children of
Israel inherit them (later on). |
|
60- |
So they (the Pharaoh and his group)
pursued them (Moses and his fleeing people) at sunrise. |
|
61- |
And when the two opposing group saw each
other, the companions of Moses said:
“We are for sure overtaken
and trapped”. |
|
62- |
Moses said: “Not at all, truly my Lord is
with me, He will guide me”. |
|
63- |
At that moment, We revealed to Moses the
following: “Strike the sea with your stick”.
It then parted and
each part became like a huge mountain (and they crossed). |
|
64- |
And We let the others (the party of the
Pharaoh) to get near them. |
|
65- |
And We saved Moses and all who were with
him altogether. |
|
66- |
Then We drowned the others. |
|
67- |
Certainly there is a lesson in this, and most
of them were not believers and would not believe. |
|
68 |
And truly your Lord is the All Mighty,
the Most Merciful. |
|
69- |
And read to them the story of Abraham. |
|
70- |
When he asked his father and his people,
saying: “What do you worship?” |
|
71- |
They said: “We worship our idols and we
devote ourselves in their reverence and worship”. |
|
72- |
Abraham said: “Do they hear you when you
call or pray to them?” |
|
73- |
“Or do they benefit or harm you at all?” |
|
74- |
They said: “No, but we noticed our
fathers doing the same”. |
|
75- |
He said: “Have you considered and looked
objectively at what you have been worshipping?” |
|
76- |
“You and your ancient forefathers?” |
|
77- |
“In reality (worship of) these (idols) is
an enemy to me and my integrity (and my Message, which is from
God),
unlike the worship of the Lord
of all the worlds,” |
|
78- |
“Who has created me and He is the One Who
guides me,” |
|
79- |
“And He is the One who feeds me and gives
me drink,” |
|
80- |
“And when I get sick, He is the One Who
cures me,” |
|
81- |
And He is the One Who causes me to die,
then He will bring me to life (on the Day of Resurrection). |
|
82- |
“And Who, I hope and wish would forgive
me for my faults and mistakes on the Day of Reckoning of Creed”. |
|
83- |
“O my Lord, grant me wisdom and have me
join the good righteous ones”. |
|
84- |
“And Grant me to be as an honest truthful
expression to later generations”. |
|
85- |
“And make me one of the inheritors of the
Blissful Paradise”. |
|
86- |
“And forgive my father, since he in fact
was one of those who have gone astray”. |
|
87- |
“And do not put me down on the day when
all people will be raised up into life again,” |
|
88- |
“The Day when neither wealth nor sons
(children)
will be of any benefit”. |
|
89- |
Except the person who brings to God
(comes to God with) a clean heart (will be happy). |
|
90- |
And the Paradise will be brought near,
for the pious, God-conscious ones |
|
91- |
Whereas the Hellfire will become clearly
visible for those lost in errors. |
|
92- |
And they will be asked: “Where are those
(false gods) that you used to worship?” |
|
93- |
“Instead of God? Can they help you or get
any help themselves?” |
|
94- |
And they will be thrown with their faces
first into it (the Fire),
they and the ones lost in grave errors
(in Judgment and behavior), |
|
95- |
And the armies, helpers of Iblis (Satan)
altogether. |
|
96- |
They will say, while arguing there: |
|
97- |
"By God, we were really in an evident
grave error", |
|
98- |
"When we held you (false gods) as equal
(in presence and power) to the Lord of all the worlds with all
that exist". |
|
99- |
"And none misled us into the error except
the habitual sinners and criminals (who are guilty)". |
|
100- |
"Now then we have nobody to mediate for
us". |
101- |
"And no close friend of any help". |
|
102- |
"Alas, if only we had another chance (to go
back to the world of earthly living),
we would then certainly be among the believers". |
|
103- |
In studying this, there is indeed a lesson to
be learned,
but most of them (people) were not and are not true believers.
4 |
|
104- |
And your Lord is Ever the All Mighty, the
Most Merciful. |
|
105- |
The people of the Noah also rejected the Messengers
and called them liars. . |
|
106- |
When their brother Noah told them: “Aren’t
you going to be mindful of Him?” |
|
107- |
“I am really a trustworthy Messenger for
you”. |
|
108- |
“ So heed God and obey me,” |
|
109- |
“And I am not asking you for any wage or
reward for it,
as my reward is only from the Lord of all the worlds and all the
inhabitants”. |
|
110- |
"Therefore be conscious of God and obey me”. |
|
111- |
They said: “Do you expect us to believe you,
whereas the lowest level of people are following you?” |
|
112- |
He said: “What knowledge do I have about what
kind of work they have been doing?” |
|
113- |
“Their account is only with my Lord, if you
would only understand”. |
|
114- |
And I am not going to be driving the
believers away”. |
|
115- |
“I am simply a plain warner”. |
|
116- |
They threatened him, saying: “Hey Noah, if
you don’t shape up, you will also be stoned (to death)”. |
|
117- |
He said: “O my Lord, my people have really
disbelieved me, calling me a liar”. |
|
118- |
“So please open a way out between me and them
and rescue me and those of the believers together with me”. |
|
119- |
Then We saved him and those with him in the
loaded ship. |
|
120- |
Thereafter We drowned the rest who stayed
(the disbelievers). |
|
121- |
In studying this, there is a lesson to be
learned, yet most of those people were not true
believers. |
|
122- |
And truly your Lord is the Ever All
Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
|
123- |
The people of “Aad” also rejected
their Messengers and called them liars. |
|
124- |
When their brother Hood told them: “Aren’t
you going to be mindful of God?” |
|
125- |
“I am in fact a trustworthy Messenger for
you”. |
|
126- |
“So be God-conscious
and obey me”. |
|
127- |
“ I am not asking you any wage or reward for
it (to guide you),
as my reward is only from the Lord of the worlds and all that
exist”. |
|
128- |
Why do you build a sign on every high
place for no good reason?” |
|
129- |
“And you take on buildings with extensive
decorations as if you are going to live there forever”. |
|
130- |
“And when you seize someone, you arrest him
like tyrants”. |
|
131- |
“So instead, be mindful of God and obey me
(to guide you the right way of life)”. |
|
132- |
“And be conscious of the One, Who aided you
with all knowledge that you know”, |
|
133- |
“Who aided you by animals, cattle and by
children”, |
134- |
“And by gardens and springs”. |
|
135- |
I really fear regarding the torment of the
Great Day (of Reckoning) on you”. |
|
136- |
They said: “It is the same to us if you
preach or stop being a preacher”. |
|
137- |
“This all is nothing but religious traditions
of the ancients”. |
|
138- |
“And we are not going to be punished”. |
|
139- |
So they kept calling him a liar and rejected
him, so We destroyed them.
In reality there is a lesson in this to be learned, but most of
them folks were not true believers. |
|
140- |
And in reality your Lord is Ever the All
Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
|
141- |
The people of the Thamood also rejected their
Messengers and accused them of lying. |
|
142- |
When their brother Saleh told them: “Aren’t
you going to be mindful of God” |
|
143- |
“I am really a trustworthy Messenger for
you (from God)”. |
|
144- |
“So be God-conscious and pious and obey me
(to guide you)”. |
|
145- |
“And I am not asking you for any wage or
reward,
as my reward is only by the Lord of all the worlds with all that
exist”. |
|
146- |
“(Do you feel) you will be left secure here
in your livelihood?” |
147- |
“In the gardens and by the springs?”. |
|
148- |
“And on the farms and date-palms with fine
digestible species of date?”. |
|
149- |
“And with your skillful ability you carve
houses in the mountains”. |
|
150- |
“So come to be God-conscious and obey me (to
guide you)”. |
|
151- |
“And do not obey the orders of the
extravagant bosses,” |
|
152- |
“Those who cause mischief in the land and do
not improve or do any good”. |
|
153- |
They responded saying: “You are also one of
the bewitched ones”. |
|
154- |
“You are only a human being like us. So if
you are being truthful, bring us a proof”. |
|
155- |
(By miracle of God, an unusual she-camel
appeared, coming from the mountains and)
he (the Prophet Saleh) said: “Here is a she-camel. It has the
right to drink spring-water on certain day
and you have the right to drink spring water on other specified
days”. |
|
156- |
“And do not touch her, to cause any harm,
otherwise the punishment of an Awesome Day will seize you”.
|
|
157- |
But they mistreated and restricted her and then
they became sorry. |
|
158- |
Later on, the punishment caught up with them.
In studying this, there is a lesson to be learned, yet most of
them were not believers. |
|
159- |
And your Lord is Ever the All Mighty, the
Most Merciful (to good people). |
|
160- |
The people of Lot also rejected the Messengers
and accused them of lying.
5 |
|
161- |
When their brother Lot told them: “Aren’t you
going to be mindful of God?” |
|
162- |
“I am truly a trustworthy Messenger for you”. |
|
163- |
“So come to be God-conscious and obey me (to

|
164- |
“And I am not asking for any wage or reward,
as my reward is only from the Lord of all the worlds and all
that exist”. |
|
165- |
“(Why) do you approach males (to have sex)
from all the people of the world?” |
|
166- |
“And leave your wives that God created for
you?
You are really a people trespassing the limits”. |
|
167- |
They responded saying: “Hey Lot, if you don’t
shut up, you will be driven out”. |
|
168- |
He said: “I am really disgusted and furious,
like others, with your evil acts (of sodomy)”. |
|
169- |
“O my Lord, save me and my family from the
consequences of what evil they do”. |
|
170- |
So We saved him and his family, all, |
|
171- |
Except an old woman (his no good wife) who
remained among those left behind. |
|
172- |
Later on, We destroyed the others. |
|
173- |
And We kept on raining at them and how awful
a rain (of rocks) it was at those who had been warned. |
|
174- |
In studying this, there is a lesson to be
learned, but most of them (people) were not believers. |
|
175- |
And in reality, your Lord is Ever the All
Mighty, the Most Merciful (to good people). |
|
176- |
The inhabitants of Aikah (near Midian) also
rejected the Messengers, accusing them of lies. |
|
177- |
When Shuaib told them “Aren’t you going to be
mindful of God?” |
|
178- |
“I am really a trustworthy Messenger for
you”, |
|
179- |
“So be God-conscious and obey me (to guide
you right)”. |
|
180- |
“And I am not asking you for any wage or
reward, as my reward is from the Lord of all worlds with all
that exist”. |
|
181- |
“In trading, give full measure and do not
cause loss to others”. |
|
182- |
“And weight with a straight and level scale”. |
|
183- |
“And do not cheat people by reducing or
withholding their things and goods
and do not cause corruption and mischief in the land”. |
|
184- |
“And be conscious of the One, Who created you
and all the generations of the past”. |
|
185- |
They responded by saying: “You are really one
of those who are bewitched”. |
|
186- |
“And you are only a human being like us and in
fact, we suspect that you are a liar”. |
|
187- |
“So cause a piece of the sky to fall on us,
if you are being truthful”. |
|
188- |
He said: “My Lord is Best Knowing of what you
do”. (He will decide about your punishment). |
|
189- |
So they kept accusing him of telling lies and
then the torment of the day of shadow
(a gloomy dark thunderstorm cloud) seized them
and that indeed
was the punishment of the Grave Day (that they wanted). |
|
190- |
Certainly in studying this, there is a lesson
to be learned, yet most of them (people) did not believe. |
|
191- |
And your Lord is Ever the All Mighty, Most
Merciful. |
|
192- |
And definitely this (Quran) is a revelation
from the Lord of all the worlds with all that exist, |
|
193- |
Which the trustworthy spirit (angel Gabriel) has
brought down, |
|
194- |
Upon your heart (your mind, O Muhammad), so
that you will be a warner. |
|
195- |
In a plain Arabic language. |
|
196- |
And indeed it (the coming of Muhammad and the
Revelation from God to him)
is mentioned in the previous
Scriptures of former people.
6 |
|
197- |
Isn’t there an indication (in the previous
Scripture) available to them,
which the learned scholars of the Children of Israel are aware
of?
7 |
|
198- |
And if We had revealed it (the Quran) in a
|
199- |
And he would have read it to them, they would
not have believed in it. |
|
200- |
In this way, We let it enter the hearts of
evil-doers, sinners (to give them a chance to change
themselves). |
|
201- |
But they will not believe in it until they
see a painful punishment, |
|
202- |
Which will come to them suddenly and which
they would not have expected it. |
|
203- |
Then they will say: can we have another
chance? |
|
204- |
But aren’t they asking for Our punishment to
arrive sooner? |
|
205- |
Have you considered, even though We let them
enjoy for years, |
|
206- |
Then that which was promised to them, arrives
at them, |
|
207- |
All that which they used to enjoy, will not
take their problem away. |
|
208- |
And never did We destroy any township, except
that it had its warners, |
|
209- |
By way of reminding and We were never unjust
(in punishing evil people). |
|
210- |
And devils did not bring it (the Quran) down. |
|
211- |
Neither it is suitable for them, nor can they
(produce it). |
|
212- |
They have been removed and kept away from
hearing it. |
|
213- |
Therefore, don’t call beside God any other god or
deity, lest you be among those to be punished. |
|
214- |
And warn your close relatives, of your tribe. |
|
215- |
And be kind and care for the believers who
follow you. |
|
216- |
And if they disobey or rebel against you,
say: “I am not responsible for you and detest what you are
doing”. |
|
217- |
And always trust in the All Mighty, the Most
Merciful. |
|
218- |
He Who sees you when you get up (for prayer). |
|
219- |
And sees your movement among those who
prostrate themselves in prayers (to God). |
|
220- |
He is indeed the Only One Who can hear and
knows every thing. |
|
221- |
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils
descend? |
|
222- |
They descend on all lying sinful persons, |
|
223- |
