Translation of the Holy Quran by Dr.
Gilani |
The Ants - Chapter
27
|
Contains 93 Verses – Mecca |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious the
Most Merciful |
|
|
1- |
Ta. Sin. These are the Verses of the Quran
and ultimately a Book which explains.
1 |
|
2- |
A guide to the right path and good news for
the believers. |
|
3- |
Those who keep up and stand up for regular prayers and
give Zakat (mandatory charity)
and are certain about the Hereafter
(the Resurrection of all, rewards for good deeds, punishment for
evil deeds, Paradise and Hell). |
|
4- |
For those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We
let their acts seem fair to them, so they wonder about without
real insight. |
|
5- |
They are the ones, who will have a very bad
punishment and suffering
and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter (as they
have no good deeds to present
and all their effort during the life on earth were for the life
of the world
and do not count for the Hereafter, as they were not intended
for). |
|
6- |
And in reality you (Muhammad) are being
certainly inspired and taught the Quran
from the One, Who is All Wise, All Knowing. |
|
7- |
(Remember) when Moses told his family: “I
have indeed noticed a fire, far away;
I will bring you some news about it or I will bring you a
burning brand, so that you could warm yourselves”. |
|
8- |
Then when he reached it, he was called:
“Blessed is the one who is at the fire and anyone around it
and Glory to God, Who is Beyond all, The Lord of all the worlds with
all that exist.” |
|
9- |
“O Moses, truly I am God, the All Might, All
Wise”, |
|
10- |
"Now throw down your stick”.
But when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned back
surprised, fearful and did not look back.
(He was called back:) “O Moses, don’t be afraid, as in fact the
Messengers don’t fear in my Presence”. |
|
11- |
“Also the ones who had done wrong, then after
doing wrong, changed his behavior to goodness,
(they should know that) surely I am Very Forgiving, Most
Merciful (to good people)”.
2 |
|
12- |
“Also put your hand to the front part of your
chest inside your clothes,
it will come out shining white, without having anything wrong
with it.
With nine miracles you will be going to the Pharaoh and his
people, which are real evil acting people”. |
|
|
13- |
But when Our miracles and eye opening lessons came to them, clearly visible, they said: “this is an evident
magic”. |
|
14- |
And in their injustice and arrogance, they
rejected them, even though inside they were convinced of it.
So see what was the end of the mischievous people. |
|
15- |
And indeed We gave special knowledge to David
and Solomon and they both said:
“All praise and thanks to God Who preferred us much over many
of His believing servants”. |
|
16- |
And Solomon inherited (the knowledge and
kingdom of) David and said:
“O people, we have been taught the language of birds and have
been granted of all good things.
This in fact is an evident Grace (of God)”. |
|
17- |
(And at one time), his hosts of supporters
including Jinns, humans, and birds were gathered before Solomon,
3
as they were set to march (toward some destination). |
|
18- |
Until they came to the valley of the ants.
(at which time) an ant said:
“O ants, get into your dwellings, so that Solomon and his
marching army don’t trample and crush you,
while they are not aware of their steps". |
|
19- |
And a laughing person (Solomon) smiled at its
words, and said:
3.5
“My Lord, Grant me the insight that I may
appreciate
and thank You for Your favor which You have granted on me and my
parents
and that I may do good righteous deeds that You will be
satisfied with
and that You admit me by Your Mercy to be among Your
righteous servants”.
|
|
20- |
He also checked the birds and said:
“What is
the matter that I do not see the hoopoe?
Is it possible that it is absent?” |
|
21- |
I will surely punish it severely or even
slaughter it unless it comes up with a clear reason”. |
|
22- |
It did not waste a long time, as it arrived
and said (to Solomon):
“I have found out something that you have not
and I have brought
you a certain news from Sheba (present day Yemen)”. |
|
23- |
I found a woman ruling over them and she has been
given everything and has a great throne”. |
|
24- |
“I also noted that she and her people
prostrate themselves, worshipping the sun, instead of God
and Satan made their acts seem fair to them, holding them off
the right way, so that they are not guided”. |
|
25 |
"So far that they do not prostrate themselves
to worship God, Who brings out to light,
the secrets of the heavens and the earth and knows what you hide
and what you reveal”.
4 |
|
26- |
Allah: God. No one is worthy of worship
except He,
Who is the Lord over the entire Great Dominion. |
|
27- |
Solomon said: “We shall see if you told the
truth or said lies”. |
|
28- |
"Go now with this letter of mine, deliver it
to them, then draw back from them and watch what they answer in
return”. |
|
29- |
She (the queen of Sheba) said: “O chiefs, an
important letter was delivered to me,” |
|
30- |
“It is from Solomon and it starts with ‘In
the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”, |
|
31- |
(saying also:) “Do not try to be superior to me and come to
me in submission, as Muslims”. |
|
32- |
She said: “O chiefs, give me your advice and
verdict in this matter of mine,
as I never decided on any important matter without you being
present”. |
|
33- |
They said: “We have great power and strong
military hardware,
but decision on the matter is up to you and see whatever you
order us to do”. |
|
34- |
She said: “Really, when kings enter a town,
they cause lots of harm to it
and they turn the most noble of its inhabitants into lowest
level of the society; and such things they do”. |
|
35- |
“And in fact I am going to send a gift to
them and wait to see what kind of response the messenger will
bring back”. |
|
36- |
Then when they (the messenger and the gift)
arrived to Solomon, he said:
“Are you trying to help me with a valuable thing?
Whereas what God has given me is much better that what He gave
you.
Nevertheless, you are happy with your gift”. |
|
37- |
Go back to them, so we will certainly come up
with armies to them which they can not confront and resist
and we shall certainly drive them humiliated out of it, and they
will be put down”. |
|
38- |
He (Solomon) said: “O you elders, which one of
you could bring her throne (of the queen of Sheba),
before they (she and her followers) come to me, willing to
submit (to God)?” |
|
39- |
One strong Jinn (of the invisible beings in
the service of Solomon) said:
“I will bring it to you before you stand up from your seat.
And I am certainly strong and trustworthy, capable to do it”. |
|
40- |
One person who had special knowledge of the
Book (of God) said:
“I will bring it to you before the twinkling of your eyes
returns”.
Then when he (Solomon) saw it (the throne) set besides him, he
said:
“This is from the Grace of my Lord, to test me, if I am being
grateful or ungrateful.
And whoever thanks (God), his thanking is for his own good
(appreciation of His Blessings causes him or her to be a better
and happier person).
And whoever is ungrateful and unappreciative (it will be to his
own lack of insight and happiness),
then of course my Lord is Self-Sufficient-Rich, Most Generous in
giving". 5 |
|
41- |
He (Solomon) said: “Alter, change somewhat on
her throne for her to see if she recognizes it
and would be guided to the truth (by this miraculous
transportation of her throne)
or would she be one of those who will not be guided”. |
|
42- |
So when she arrived, she was told: “Is this
like your throne?”
She said: “It looks like it is it and we were already given the
knowledge before that (miracle)
and have become Muslims (surrendering ourselves to God)”. |
|
|
43- |
(He, Salomon stopped her, Sheba from
worshipping any entity other than God.)
What really had prevented her (from worshipping God Alone) was
that she worshipped other deity than God,
as she was from a people who disbelieved, denying the
truth (the same way). |
|
44- |
(After a while) she was told: “Enter the
palace court”.
Then when she saw it, she thought it was a pool and she bared
her legs (to wade through).
Solomon said: “this is a palace-court made of (slabs of smooth)
glass”.
She said: “O my Lord, I had wronged my soul before,
but now I
submit myself with Solomon to God, the Lord of the worlds”. |
|
45- |
And indeed, We sent to the people of
‘Thamood’ their brother Saleh, advising them to worship only
God,
but there they split into two groups, (some worshipping God
only, others worshipping other than God,)
quarreling with each other. |
|
46- |
Saleh said: “O my people, why do you seek to
haste for evil, before and instead of goodness?
Why do you not ask God’s Forgiveness, so that you may receive
Mercy?" |
|
47- |
They (the disbelievers) said: "We
consider you and those with you as ill omen to us”.
He said: “Your ill omen or bad luck comes from God (according to your
behavior),
the fact is that you are a people, being tested (so watch your
behavior)”. |
|
48- |
And in the town, there were nine rascal men
who made mischief in the land and would not improve or do any
good. |
|
49- |
They conspired saying: “Swear by God that we
will surely attack him (Saleh) and his family by night,
when we of course would say to his heir that we did not witness
the destruction (murder) of his family
and we are surely telling the truth”. |
|
50- |
And so they plotted and We planned a Divine
plan (for them), while they were unaware of it. |
|
51- |
Then see what and how was the end-result of
their plot; that We destroyed them and their gang altogether. |
|
52- |
So those are their houses all in ruin, for
they did wrong.
Certainly in this, there is a lesson for people who know (right
and wrong). |
|
53- |
And We saved those who believed and were
God-conscious. |
|
54- |
And remember Lot, when he said to his people:
“Do you commit sinful acts while you even look at (your evil
acts)?” |
|
55- |
“Do you approach men with lust, instead of
women?
But in fact you are an ignorant people (who don’t know right and
wrong)”. |
|
56- |
The answer of his people was nothing but that
they said:
“Get the people (the followers) of Lot out of your town.
They are really people who care for being pure and clean (of
sins)". |
|
57- |
So We saved him (Lot) and his folks, except
his wife, whom We decreed to be of those left behind. |
|
58- |
And We rained down on them a shower (of
rocks).
Such an awful rain it was, on people who had been warned (of
consequences of their evil acts). |
|
59- |
Say: “All praise and thanks to God and peace
be on His servants, whom He has chosen (to serve His Message).
Is God better or all those others which they join (with Him,
worshipping them also)? |
|
60- |
Isn’t He better to worship, Who created the
heavens and the earth and sends down water for you from the sky,
by which We cause beautiful garden, full of delight to grow?
You do not have the ability to cause the growth of their trees.
Is there still another god (in their minds) besides God?
The truth is that they try to justify their disbelief,
trespassing the limits of reason
(by attributing unrealistic powers or miracles to their gods and
idols). |
|
61- |
Or Who is the One Who has made the earth a
place of rest and placed rivers and streams in its tracks
and placed firm mountains on it and caused a barrier between the two
sees (of sweet and salty water)?
Is there another god besides God?
Of course not, but most of them (people) are not aware of this
fact. |
|
62- |
Or Who is the One Who responds to the
distressed person, when he calls up to Him
and He removes the distress
and Who makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after
generations?
Is there any real god besides God?
So little is what you reflect and remember of Him. |
|
63- |
Who is the One, Who guides you in the deep
darknesses of the land and the sea
and Who sends the winds, giving good news of His Mercy (Rain) to
come?
Is there any real god besides God?
God is High Above all that
which they associate as partners to Him. |
|
64- |
Who is the One Who initiated the creation in
the first place,
thereafter He reproduces it and Who provides for you from the
sky and from the earth?
Is there a real god besides God?
Say: “Come up with your proof if you are being truthful”. |
|
65- |
Say: “No one in the heavens and the earth
knows the unseen and hidden reality of the existence except God
and they even don’t know when they shall be raised (in the
Hereafter)”, |
|
66- |
Neither their knowledge reaches details of
the Hereafter.
They are even in doubt about it.
They are even blind to it. |
|
67- |
And those who disbelieve say: “When we and
our forefathers (past generations) have become dust,
are we really going to be brought out alive again?” |
|
68- |
This indeed was promised to us and our
forefathers before, these are nothing but old stories of the
ancients”. |
|
69- |
Say: “Travel on the earth and look at how was
the end of disbelieving sinners”. |
|
70- |
And don’t be sad (O Muhammad) about them
(that they don’t believe)
and don’t be distressed or anxious of what false arguments they
would plat. |
|
71- |
And they say: “When is this promise (of
Resurrection or punishment) going to happen, if you are telling
the truth?” |
|
72- |
Say: “May be some of that which you so
hastily wish (to happen to you) has already gotten close to
you”. |
|
73- |
And your Lord is truly full of Grace to
humankind
(and gives them plenty of chances to correct themselves before
any punishment gets to them),
but most of them do not thank Him”. |
|
74- |
And of course your Lord knows quite well what
is hidden in their chests (minds) and what they reveal. |
|
75- |
And there is not a thing hidden in the
heaven and the earth
except that it is all registered in a Clear Book (of God’s
Design). |
|
76- |
In reality, this Quran explains to the
Children of Israel (to the Jews)
the truth about most of the matters in which they have
differences of opinions. |
|
77- |
And it is truly a Guide and Mercy for the
believers. |
|
78- |
And certainly, your Lord will judge between
them by His Wisdom and Rule
and He is the All Mighty, the All Knowing. |
|
79- |
So put all your trust in God, surely you
(Muhammad) are on the clear truth. |
|
80- |
Of course you can not invoke the dead (of the
heart) to hear,
nor can you make the deaf to hear the call (to benefit from it),
while they are fleeing , turning their back (on you). |
|
81- |
And you can not guide the blinds (in the
heart, who can not get) out of their errors and confusions.
You can only make hear and listen those who believe in Our
Verses
and submit themselves (to Our Guidance) as Muslims. |
|
82- |
And when the Word (of Promise) against them
is realized, We shall produce a moving being from the earth,
which will talk to them, that people were not believing in Our
Verses with certainty. |
|
83- |
And (remember) the time and the Day when We
will gather a large group of every nation
and creed who claimed Our Verses and Revelations were lies and
denied them;
they will then be made stand in rows (and taken for reckoning), |
|
|
84- |
Till they come (before God for Reckoning), He
will say: “Did you deny and called My Revelations and Verses as
lies,
whereas you had no comprehensive knowledge about it? What in the
world were you doing?” |
|
85- |
And the Word (for punishment) against them is
fulfilled for the wrongs that they did,
thereafter they won’t be able to say anything. |
|
86- |
Don’t they observe that We made the night, so
that they can rest during that time
and We made the day, a time to see and be alert?
Certainly in this phenomenon, there are many lessons for people
who believe (in Him). |
|
87- |
And the Day when the Trumpet will be blown
and will be heard everywhere,
all beings in the heavens and on the earth will be terrified (by
it) except those whom God wants (not to be terrified)
and all shall come to His Presence, humbled. |
|
88- |
And you see the mountains, thinking them
to be solidly in place, while they move away like clouds (in
space).
That is the Act and Art of God, Who completes the design and the
destiny of everything perfectly.
He is certainly All Aware of what you do. |
|
89- |
Whoever arrives there with good deeds, will
get better than that and they will be safe
and immune from the terror of that Day. |
|
90- |
Whoever arrives there with loads of evil
deeds, they will be cast down with their faces into the Fire,
(while being told:) “Are you being given back anything other
than what you used to do?” |
|
91- |
(Say:) I have been commanded to worship the
Lord of this town (of Mecca),
Who has made it sacred and to Whom belongs everything.
And I have been commanded to be one of the Muslims (those who
submit themselves to God’s Commands). |
|
92- |
And that I would read (and present) the Quran.
Therefore whoever receives guidance and adheres to it,
then of course he or she is getting the guidance for his or her
own good.
And whoever goes the wrong way, say (to that person): I am only
one of the warners
(I can not force you to accept the guidance). |
|
93- |
And say: “all praise and thanks to God, in
time He will show you His (promised) signs,
so that you will recognize them.
And your Lord is never unaware of what you do. |

light years away, and discoveries of enormous resources inside the earth

mankind this ability to discover.

illumination).
