Gilani |
The Originator - Chapter 35
|
Contains 45 Verses – Mecca |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious the
Most Merciful |
|
|
1- |
All grateful praise is due to God, the
Originator, the Creator of the heavens and the earth,
who made the angels as messengers, given wings (of power of
varying degrees,) two, three or four.
He adds up to the creation whatever He wills;
as He indeed is Capable to do all things and is the Giver of
measures and size to all things. |
|
2- |
Whatever God of His Grace opens up to people,
no one can withhold it or stop it
and whatever He withholds, no one then can release it thereafter.
And He Alone is the All Mighty-Irresistible, the All Wise. |
|
3- |
O mankind, remember and mention the Blessing
that God has granted upon you.
Is there any creator other than God, who could provide for your
living, from the sky and the earth?
There is no God but He, so then how and why do you turn away
from the truth (and worship other than God)? |
|
4- |
(O Muhammad) If they call you a liar and
reject you, (do not be distressed, since)
the Messengers before you were also rejected and called as
liars.
And ultimately all the affairs will go back to God (for
Judgment). |
|
5- |
O mankind, certainly the Promise of God is
true (about the Resurrection and the Hereafter).
So don’t let then the attractions of the life in this world
deceive and delude you
and do not let the major deceiver (Satan and your deceptive
thoughts) deceive you about God (and His Promise). |
|
6- |
Surely, Satan is an enemy to you, so treat
him as an enemy.
He only invites his followers (to his way) to the end that they
become inhabitants of the blazing Fire, |
|
7- |
Those who deny the truth, for whom there will
be a severe suffering, waiting.
On the contrary, those who have believed and have done righteous
good deeds,
they will receive Forgiveness and a great reward (especially in Paradise). |
|
8- |
Is then the person whose evildoing is so
fair-appearing him, that he considers it as good
(,anything but a lost soul, following his desires and Satan,
like the one who is rightly guided)?
The fact is that God lets astray whom He decides and guides whom
He wants (,those who want to be guided).
Therefore don’t waste your energy in being sorry for them; of course
God knows well all that they are doing. |
|
9- |
And (remember) God is the One Who sends the
winds, so that they move the clouds, as a result
We drive them to a dead land to irrigate it, thereby We give life to the
land after it had been lifeless.
Similar to this shall be the Resurrection. |
|
10- |
Anyone who desires might and glory, (should
know that) all might and glory belong to God.
To Him ascend all good, sincere words and the corresponding good
behavior
and good deed raises up the person’s standing.
But those who devise evil deeds, will get severe punishment and
all their plotting will perish. |
|
11- |
And (remember) God created you (humans) from
(the substances of) the ground dust,
then from a "nutfah" (sperm copulated ovum), then He makes you
into male or female.
And there is no female, conceiving, carrying or giving birth but
with His Knowledge.
And no aged person's life is extended into further old age,
nor any person whose life has been cut short, except all is laid
down in a Book (of God’s Design);
in fact all that is easy for God. |
|
12- |
And observe the two different kinds of sea
water, which are not alike (two seas are not alike),
this one is fresh, sweet and pleasant to drink and that one
salty and bitter.
And from each one you get to eat fresh tender meat (of seafood)
and you take out ornaments which you wear.
And you see the ships sailing on it, by which you seek to have a
good catch of His Bounty
and that you may be grateful (to Him). |
|
13- |
He merges the night(time) gradually into the
day
and He merges the daytime gradually into the night-time
(by changing the durations of the day and the night through the
seasons)
and He subjected the sun and the moon (to help you with), each
running its course for a predetermined period of time.
Such is (the Might of) God, your Lord, to Him belongs all
existence and His is the True Kingdom.
And all those whom you call and pray to, other than Him, they
don’t own even a date-stone’s thin cover. |
|
14- |
If you call them, they do not hear your call
and prayer
and even if they could hear, they could not grant you anything.
And on the Resurrection Day, they will reject your idol
worshipping.
And no one can inform you as good as the One, the Aware of all. |
|
15- |
O mankind, you are all in need of God.
And
God Alone is Truly Rich, Needless, Worthy of all praise. |
|
16- |
If He Willed, He could take out and destroy
you and bring about a new creation. |
|
17- |
And that is not hard at all for God. |
|
18- |
And know that no responsible being shall bear
the burden (of sins) of someone else
and if a heavily burdened person (bearing a heavy burden of
sins) would call another one to bear it for him,
nothing of that burden will be carried for him (or her), even
though (the person requested) be a next of kin or a relative.
You (Muhammad) practically warn those who have awe and fear of
their Lord in an unseen and secret manner
and they regularly perform the prayers.
And whoever cleanses his or her personality and inner being, of
course he does it for the benefit of himself.
And the ultimate return is to God! |
|
19- |
The blind and the observer are not equal, |
|
20- |
Neither are equal darkness (of disbelief) and light
(of Monotheism: Believing in the One God, the Creator),
|
|
21- |
Nor are equal the condition in the shade and
the heat of the sun, |
|
22- |
Nor are alike those who are alive and those
who are
dead.
In reality, God makes to hear and listen, whom He wills
and you (Muhammad) are not able to make hear those who are in
graves. |
|
23- |
You are only a Warner. |
|
24- |
We have truly sent you for the explanation of
the truth, as a bearer of good news (for the good ones) and as a
warner.
In the past there was no nation, but that a warner was among
them. |
|
25- |
And if they call you a liar, (don’t worry)
those before them, also called their Messengers liars,
who came to them with clear evidences and with the scriptures
and with the book, giving light (of guidance). |
|
26- |
As a result, I seized those who disbelieved
and denied the truth and how awful was the outcome and the
punishment. |
|
27- |
Don’t you see that God sends down water
(rain, snow, hail, etc) from the sky,
by which We bring forth produce (fruit, vegetables, grains etc )
of various colors?
And you see on the mountains, layers of white and red with
variations of colors and some rocks being raven black. |
|
28- |
And likewise form among different people, beasts and
cattle are of various colors, by the same token.
Really only those who are knowledgeable, are in awe of God, as
truly God is the Almighty, Very Forgiving. |
|
29- |
Certainly, those who read the Book of God and
perform prayer regularly
and spend in charity from what We have provided for them,
secretly or openly,
they hope for a business profit that will never perish. |
|
30- |
They hope that He will pay them their rewards
and give them more of the Bounty of His Grace;
for He is Very Forgiving (of His servants’ shortcomings) and
Very Appreciative |
|
31- |
And all that we have revealed to you of the
Book (the Quran), is all the very truth,
confirming that (portion of the true Scriptures) which is
available at this time.
Certainly God is indeed All Aware, All-Observant over the
servants. |
|
32- |
We then let those whom We chose of Our
servants (who are the followers of Muhammad) to inherit the
Book.
But then from among them, there are some who are or will be
those who wrong themselves
(by disobeying God’s Commandments)
and among them, there are those who follow an average middle
road
and among them are also those who, by God’s Blessed Design are far
ahead, who are leaders in doing good deeds.
That is (the Quran and following it,) really a great Grace. |
|
33- |
They will enter the Everlasting gardens of
Paradise,
where they will be decorated with bracelets of gold and pearls,
and their clothing will be of silk. |
|
34- |
And they will say: “All grateful praise are
due to God, Who removed grief and sadness from us.
Indeed our Lord is Very Forgiving, Very Appreciative,” |
|
35- |
“Who out of His Grace, lodged us in a home,
to last forever,
where we won’t feel any need for hard work, nor we will feel any
boredom there .” |
|
36- |
But those who had disbelieved, will get the
Fire of Hell,
which neither finishes them up, so that they would die, nor will
there be any reduction of its suffering.
Thus do We punish the very ungrateful person, who denies and
rejects the truth. |
|
37- |
They will cry over there: ”Our Lord, please
take us out of here, we shall behave and do righteous deeds,
different from what we had been doing.”
God will say: “Did We not give you enough lifetime, so that
anyone would have a chance
to think well about all that was supposed to have been thought
about (the reason God placed you) in there (on earth)?
And the warner (messenger) did come to you (but you did not pay
attention),
So now experience and taste the consequence, as there is no
helper for the evildoers”. |
|
38- |
Truly God is the All Knowing of all the
unseen secrets of the heavens and the earth.
He is indeed All Knowing of all that is inside the hearts and
souls and all the though process in all and everyone. |
|
39- |
He is the One, Who has made you successors, generations
after generations.
So whoever disbelieves or behaves ungrateful, his (or her)
disbelief will be against himself (or herself)
and the disbelief or thanklessness of the disbelievers add
nothing but more dislike from their Lord.
And the disbelief of the disbelievers adds nothing to them but
loss. |
|
|
40- |
(O Muhammad) say: “Have you observed your
imaginary god-partners, whom you call or pray to, besides God?
Show me what have they created of the things of the earth?
Or do they have any share in the heavens?
Or did We give them any Book (or Authority about that), so that
they are acting upon a clear basis of that?
Not so, the reality is that the usually bad-behaving unjust
people (the polytheist who worship other beside God,)
they promise each other nothing but blind faith, delusion and
deceit.
1 |
|
41- |
Truly God keeps the heavenly bodies and the
earth from moving away in chaos
(from their defined orbits or locations) and when and if they
would deviate,
no one can hold and keep them after His Decision.
He is indeed Ever Accommodating, Very Forgiving. |
|
42- |
And they (the disbelievers) had sworn by God
that if a warner would come to them,
they will be more guided than any of nations; yet when a warner
(Muhammad) came to them,
that increased in them nothing but resentment-flight (away from
the truth which he has brought to them). |
|
43- |
That was because of their arrogance in the
land and their desire to plot evil.
But the effect of plotting evils will (at the end) overwhelm and
surround only those who made it.
Do they then expect anything other than the fate of the
generations who lived long ago?
And you won't find any change in the treatment of God (in
punishing those who plot against the truth).
And you won't find any turning away from the method of treatment
of God. |
|

Why would they not travel on earth, then they
could see how was the end of those before them?
they were also superior to them in power.
God is not such that anything in the heavens or in earth could
escape Him or confront His decision;
as in reality He is the All Knowing, the All Powerful
(All Defining). |

And if God were to punish people (in this
life) on the account of what evil they committed and earned,
He would not leave a moving creature on the face of the earth;
but He gives them time and postpones (their judgment) till a
specific time.
Then when their specific time of death comes, then of course (they
realize that)
God has ever been All Observant over the behavior of all His
servants. |
