Translation of the Holy Quran by Dr.
Gilani |
Luxury - Chapter
43
|
Contains 89 Verses – Mecca |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious the
Most Merciful
ذ |
|
2- |
Consider the Clarifying Book (the Quran), |
|
3- |
We in fact have made it as a Quran, a reading in
Arabic, so that you may understand its meaning. |
|
|
4- |
And indeed its content is in the Mother (Original)
Book (of guidance) with Us,
which is high in value and full of wisdom.
2 |
|
5- |
Do you expect then that We should take away
and deprive you of this Reminder (The Quran),
because you are such a people which goes beyond their limits
(with disrespect)? |
|
6- |
And how many Prophets have We sent among the
previous generations of the old times. |
|
7- |
And not a single Prophet did We send but that
they made fun of him and ridiculed him. |
|
8- |
Then We destroyed those people, which were
stronger than these (Mecca Arabs)
and the example of those ancient people was repeated and passed
along. |
|
9- |
As a matter of fact, if you ask them: “Who
has crated the heavens and the earth?”
They will certainly say: “The Almighty, All Knowing One has
created them.” |
|
10- |
The Same (Almighty, All Knowing God) Who made the
earth as a growing and resting place for you
and placed (natural) roads and ways for you on it, so that you
may find your way. |
|
11- |
And He is the one Who sends down (Rain) water
from the sky in due amount, then We revive with it a dead land.
Same way, you will be brought out (of graves, alive again). |
|
12- |
And He is the One Who created all the pairs
and opposites
and He made it possible for you to have ships and animals to
ride on, |
|
13- |
So that you mount on their backs and also
remember the Favor of your Lord whenever you mount on them
and say: “Glory to the One, Who made this available for us
and this is something which we could not have it on our own
(without His Favor).” |
|
14- |
“And indeed, we do always turn to our Lord.” |
|
15- |
Yet they (disbelievers) assume some of His
creatures and servants, to share (in divinity) with Him!
Indeed, the humankind is really ungrateful!
3 |
|
16- |
Or they assume that He has chosen daughters
of what He has created and He assigned sons only for you?! |
|
17- |
And if anyone of them (the disbelieving Arabs) is
informed of the good news (of the birth of a girl)
which he (the disbelieving Arab) imagines as (the daughter) of the Most
Gracious (God), his face becomes dark
as he is filled with suppressed anger and grief. |
|
18- |
Isn't this an individual who is raised in
luxury of ornaments,
and is unable to give a clear argument in any dispute? |
|
19- |
And yet they assume the angels, which in
reality are servants of the Most Gracious (God) to be females.
Were they witness to their creation?!
Their testimony will be all recorded and (on
the Judgment Day) they will be questioned about it. |
|
20- |
They also said: “If (God), The Most Gracious
had not willed, we would not have worshipped them (the false
gods).”
They have no knowledge of what they are saying.
They are only guessing and lying. |
|
21- |
Or did We give them any written document
about it before this (The Quran), so that they are referring to
it?! |
|
22- |
Not so, on the contrary, they said:
“We found our ancestors on a belief (like that) and we are
really guiding ourselves on their footsteps.” |
|
23- |
And similarly, not a single warner,
messenger did we send to any townsfolk (for guidance),
but that their well-to-do people said the same:
“We found our ancestors on the same belief and we are indeed
following their footsteps”. |
|
24- |
(Their Messenger) told them:
“Even if I present you with a better guidance than that which
you found your ancestors following?”
They answered saying: “We totally reject for whatever reason you
were sent to us”. |
|
25- |
Then We revenged on them; look, how was the
end of those who called Our Messages a lie. |
|
26- |
Also remember when Abraham told his father
and his folks: “I really hate what you are worshiping.” |
|
27- |
“(I don't worship any entity) Except the One,
Who created me and He will indeed always guide me.” |
|
28- |
And he made this expression
(That there is really no one worthy of worship except God, The
Creator) as a lasting expression among his descendents,
so that they may refer to and always repeat (that expression).
|
|
29- |
But then, as I gave good things of life to
these people and their forefathers to enjoy,
(they diverted away from the truth) till the truth (the Quran)
and the Messenger (Muhammad)
who makes things clear, came to guide them. |
|
30- |
However when the truth reached them, they
said: “This is magic and we disbelieve in it.” |
|
31- |
And they said: “Why was this Quran not sent
down to an important man of the two towns (of Mecca and Taif)?” |
|
32- |
Are they supposed to divide up or assign the
Grace of your Lord?
We do assign and divide between them their means of living in
the life of this world
and We have raised some of them above others in ranks and
degrees, so that some may employ others in their work.
But the Mercy of God is better than all the wealth
which they accumulate. |
|
33- |
And were it not for mankind to become one
nation,
We would certainly have provided for those who disbelieve in the Most
Gracious (God),
for their houses to have
silver roofs, stairways and vehicles to go up on, |
|
34- |
And for their houses to have even (silver)
doors and couches, on which they would recline, |
|
35- |
And golden ornaments.
Yet of course, all
these are nothing but worldly means of enjoyment.
And the happiness of the Hereafter by your Lord is only for the
pious, God-conscious ones. |
|
36- |
And whoever ignores the remembrance of (God)
The Most Gracious,
We assign a satan (an evil thought or an evil person) for him (or her),
which would be a close companion for that person. |
|
37- |
And they (the evils) shall of course divert
them from the way of God, yet they think that they are being
guided! |
|
38- |
Until that kind of person comes to Us (on
Judgment Day), when that person will say (to the evil ones:)
“I wish that between me and you, were
the distance of the two easts
(one end of the world to the other, the distance from the east
to the west),
and what an evil companion”. |
|
39- |
But this saying will not benefit you at all
on that Day,
as you did wrong (by ignoring God), you will also share that
suffering. |
|
40- |
Could you (Muhammad) then make the deaf hear
or guide the blind (in heart) or a person who is in obvious
error? |
|
41- |
(O Muhammad) even if We take you away, We
shall certainly revenge on them (who deny the truth). |
|
42- |
Or We will show you that (kind of the
punishment) which We promised them,
as We have perfect power of Command over them. |
|
43- |
So hold firm to that which has been revealed
to you (O Muhammad).
You are indeed on the right and straight path. |
|
44- |
And in fact, it (the Quran) is a Reminder for
you and your people
and you all will be questioned about, (did you follow the
Messages of the Quran?) |
|
45- |
Question any of Our messengers We have sent
before you:
“Did We ever appoint or allow any gods other than The Most
Gracious (God) to be worshipped?” |
|
46- |
Certainly We did send Moses with Our
Revelations and Signs to the Pharaoh and his court chiefs and he
said;
“I am the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds and all that
exist.” |
|
47- |
And when he came to them with Our Revelations
and Messages of guidance, they then laughed at it. |
|
48- |
And each time We showed them a miraculous
sign (of Our Power) which was only greater than the previous
one.
And (as they disregarded them,) We seized them to punishment,
so
that they might return (to their senses and the truth). |
|
49- |
They also said (to Moses): “O you magician,
Call your Lord on our behalf for what He promised you
(to remove the disasters from us) as we shall be guided
really good.” |
|
50- |
But whenever We removed the suffering from
them, they then broke their promise and covenant. |
|
51- |
And the Pharaoh gave a speech to his people,
he said:
“O my people, is the dominion of Egypt and these (great) rivers
(Nile and its branches) flowing below me, are not mine?
Then don’t you see that?” |
|
52- |
“Am I not better than this one (Moses) who is
awful and can hardly express himself? 4 |
|
53- |
Why then are no golden bracelets put on him
or aren’t there any angels sent along with him?” |
|
54- |
So he (the Pharaoh) fooled and downgraded his
people and they obeyed him also.
They were indeed such a disobedient people (to God, as they let
themselves be fooled by their Pharaoh). |
|
55- |
So since they continued challenging Us (with
their behavior), We punished them in revenge
and drowned them all (when they went after Moses and his folks). |
|
56- |
And We made them an entity of the past and
an example for later generations. |
|
57- |
And whenever the son of Mary (Jesus) is
mentioned as an example,
then your people resist and make fun of him. |
|
58- |
And they said: “Are our gods better or he?”
They said that, only for the sake of argument, as they usually
are a quarrelsome people. |
|
59- |
He was no more than a servant (of Ours) to
whom We granted Our Favors
and We made him as a good example for the Children of Israel.
5 |
|
60- |
And if We would want, We could make angels
out of
you (humans), who would replace you on earth. |
|
61- |
And it shall be a known
sign of the Coming Hour (of Resurrection),
therefore have no doubt about it
and follow Me (your Lord).
That is the correct straight path. |
|
62- |
And don't let Satan stop you (from the Way of
God), he is indeed an obvious enemy to you. |
|
63- |
And when Jesus came with the miracles and
explanations, he said: “I have really come to you with wisdom
and to explain to you the truth of some points in which you have
difference of opinions.
So be conscious and mindful of God and obey me.” |
|
64- |
“Truly God is my Lord and your lord, so
worship Him (not anyone else).
This is the right path. |
|
65- |
But then the sects (different groups) started
to have different opinions.
Therefore, it is too bad for those who did wrong (by telling
wrong things about Jesus, such as “son of God” etc),
from the torment of the Painful Day (of Resurrection). |
|
66- |
Are they merely waiting for the Hour [of
Judgment] to come upon them suddenly,
while they do not even perceive and notice it? [while they are
unaware?]. |
|
67- |
On that Day, friends become enemies to one
another, except the God-conscious, pious people. |
|
68- |
(It will be said to the pious people:) “O My
servants, this Day no fear shall be upon you and you shall not be sad”. |
|
69- |
“You who have believed in Our Messages and
Revelations
and have been Muslims (submitting your will to the guidance of
God).” |
|
70- |
(they will be told:) “Enter the Garden of Paradise, you and your
spouses, with happiness”. |
|
71- |
They will be served around by golden tray and
cups
