حم |
|
1- |
Ha Mim |
|
تَنزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ |
|
2- |
The Revelation of this Book (the Quran) is by the One God, Almighty Invincible, Most Wise. |
|
إِنَّ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَآيَاتٍ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
|
3- |
Indeed in studying the heavens and the earth, there are many signs (of His Majesty) for people who believe. |
|
وَفِي خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَابَّةٍ آيَاتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ |
|
4- |
Also in the study of your own creation and
all those creatures which are spread (on earth), there are many signs for folks who are certain (of His Creation) |
|
وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِن رِّزْقٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ الرِّيَاحِ آيَاتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ |
|
5- |
Also in the revolution of the night and the
day and what God has sent down from the sky as the means of livelihood by which He made the land alive again after its death and in the movement of the winds, there are signs for people who use their reasoning. |
|
تِلْكَ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَ اللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
|
6- |
These are Verses of God which We read them to
you for the declaration of the truth. So after God's speech and the mention of His Signs, which statement are they going to believe? |
|
وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ |
|
7- |
Woe to any sinful liar, |
|
يَسْمَعُ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ |
|
8- |
Who hears the Verses of God being read to
him, yet insists against them arrogantly as if he never heard
them. Therefore warn him of a painful suffering (to come). |
|
وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا شَيْئًا اتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ |
|
9- |
And when he learns something of Our Message
(of the Quran), he makes fun of it. These are the sort of people who will get a humiliating suffering. |
|
مِن وَرَائِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُم مَّا كَسَبُوا شَيْئًا وَلَا مَا اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاء وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ |
|
10- |
In their future, the Hell will be facing
them. And all that they earned (during their lifetime) will be of no use to them, neither will be any benefit from all those others, instead of God, whom they assumed to be their friends or their protectors. And they will receive a huge suffering. |
|
هَذَا هُدًى وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مَّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ |
|
11- |
This (Quran) is a guidance and those who
disbelieved and rejected the Messages of their True Lord, they will have a suffering of a very severe kind. |
|
اللَّهُ الَّذِي سخَّرَ لَكُمُ الْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِيَ الْفُلْكُ فِيهِ بِأَمْرِهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ |
|
12- |
God is the One, who put the sea at your
disposal, so that by His command, ships may sail through it, and that you may seek of His favor (seafood etc.), and that you would be thankful and appreciative. |
|
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِّنْهُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لَّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ |
|
13- |
He also made available for your use, all that is
in the
heavens and all that is on and in the earth, as a favor from Him. Certainly in this observation, there are many signs for understanding for people who think deeply. |
|
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَغْفِرُوا لِلَّذِينَ لا يَرْجُون أَيَّامَ اللَّهِ لِيَجْزِيَ قَوْمًا بِما كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ |
|
14- |
(O Muhammad) Say to the believers to forgive
those who do not expect or hope for the Days of
God (Retribution by God), as He shall give back to people whatever points (good or bad) that they had earned (in their lifetime on earth). |
|
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ أَسَاء فَعَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ |
|
15- |
Whoever does any good deed, he or she does it
for his own or her own benefit and whoever does any evil, does it so against his or her own interest. Ultimately you will be led back to your Lord (for questioning and accountability). |
|
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَاهُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَفَضَّلْنَاهُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ |
|
16- |
And indeed, in the past, We granted the Book (Torah) and
the Commandments to the Children of Israel, as well as the prophethood and We provided them with good foods and things and We gave them preference above all the beings. |
|
وَآتَيْنَاهُم بَيِّنَاتٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْرِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا
إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءهُمْ |
|
17- |
We also gave them clear understanding of the
Command of God. They then started to have differences of opinion, only after the knowledge had reached them, through envy and rivalry among themselves. Certainly your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about the matters in which they had different opinions. |
|
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكَ عَلَى شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاء الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ |
|
18- |
Later, We also put you on a certain way of
application of laws of (Our) Commandment (which were similar to the laws given to the Messengers before you). Therefore follow this (way) and do not follow the desires of those who do not know the Truth. |
|
إِنَّهُمْ لَن يُغْنُوا عَنكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيئًا وإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاء بَعْضٍ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ |
|
19- |
Of course, they can not be of any use to you
against the Will of God, and indeed some evil-mongers and polytheists are close friends to some others (like them), but God is the Real Friend and Protector of the pious God-conscious people. |
|
هَذَا بَصَائِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمِ يُوقِنُونَ |
|
20- |
This (Quran) is the means of clear insight
for mankind,
a Guidance and a Mercy (of God) for people who believe in it with certainty. |
|
أًمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ اجْتَرَحُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ أّن نَّجْعَلَهُمْ كَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَوَاء مَّحْيَاهُم وَمَمَاتُهُمْ سَاء مَا يَحْكُمُونَ |
|
21- |
Those who persist in doing evil
deeds, do they really think that We consider them as equal with those who have believed and did righteous deeds, during their present life and after their death? The way they judge, is very wrong. |
|
وَخَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ وَلِتُجْزَى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ |
|
22- |
And God created the heavens and the earth for
showing and for the explanation of the Truth and on the basis that each and every person will be compensated according to what he or she has earned and they won’t be wronged at all. |
|
افَرَأَيْتَ
مَنِ اتَّخَذَ إِلَهَهُ هَوَاهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِلْمٍ
وَخَتَمَ عَلَى |
|
23- |
Did you observe the person who takes his
own desire as his god or the subject of his worship whatever he
desires? And subsequently God, knowing the way he behaves, left him astray, sealed off his listening ability and his heart (capacity to understand) and put a cover over his sight (his ability to see the Truth) So then who can guide him after God (ceased to guide him)? Wouldn’t you think about this matter and take it to heart? 1 |
|
وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ |
|
24- |
And such people say: “There is nothing but
our life in this world, we die and we live and nothing destroys us other than the time of nature," whereas they have no real knowledge about it; in fact they are only guessing. |
|
وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا ائْتُوا بِآبَائِنَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ |
|
25- |
And whenever Our Clear Messages are read to
them, their argument is nothing other than that thy say: “Bring back out dead ancestors if you are telling the truth.” |
|
قُلِ اللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيبَ فِيهِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكَثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ |
|
26- |
Say (to them): “God gives you life, then
causes you to die and He gathers you all on the Day of
Resurrection, in which there should be no doubt". But most people are not aware of this. |
|
وَلَلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرضِ وَيَومَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ الْمُبْطِلُونَ |
|
27- |
And to God belongs the Kingdom of the heavens
and the earth. And on the Day, when the time of accountability is established and proceeds, that Day is when the followers of falsehood and false gods will lose everything. |
|
وَتَرَى كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَى إِلَى كِتَابِهَا الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
|
28- |
And you shall see each nation of faith
humbled down on their knees (before God’s court).
Each nation of faith will be called to its record of deeds (according to its Scripture). On this Day, you will get the result of what you used to do. |
|
هَذَا كِتَابُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيْكُم بِالْحَقِّ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
|
29- |
This, Our Record Book speaks about you
truthfully and faithfully. We were recording in details what you were doing. |
|
فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْمُبِينُ |
|
30- |
Then, as for those who believed in truth and
did good works, their Lord will admit them into His Mercy; that will be the obvious success. |
|
وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ |
|
31- |
But as far those who disbelieved and rejected
the truth, they will be told: “Were not My Messages and Instructions read and recited to you? But you arrogantly refused them and you were sinful people”. |
|
وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِي مَا السَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ |
|
32- |
And when it was mentioned to you that certainly God's promise is true
and as to the Hour of Reckoning, in which there is no doubt about it, you said: “We don’t understand what the Hour (of Reckoning) means, we consider it only as a suggestion and as a guess, and we do not care to be certain about it.” |
|
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون |
|
33- |
And the evil aspects and results of what they
did, will appear to them and that same (truth) which they used to ridicule, will thoroughly encircle and overwhelm them. |
|
وَقِيلَ الْيَوْمَ نَنسَاكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَاء يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا وَمَأْوَاكُمْ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ |
|
34- |
And they will be told: “Today, We will
disregard you, as you disregarded the meeting of this Day of yours (judging your deeds ) and your place of stay will be the Fire (of Hell) and you have no helpers”. |
|
ذَلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ اتَّخَذْتُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ |
|
35- |
“This is because you made fun of God’s
Messages and the life of the world deceived you.” So on this Day, they will not be taken out from there (the Hell), nor will they be permitted to argue back. |
|
فَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبِّ الْأَرْضِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
|
36- |
So all praise in gratitude are due to God, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of all beings (all that exist). |
|
وَلَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاء فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ |
|
37- |
And all the Majesty in the heavens and the earth is His, and He is the Almighty, All Wise. |

By persistently following
his own desires and not submitting to God’s Guidance, he makes himself
unworthy of God-given capacity to listen, to observe and accept the truth anymore. What a calamity!
