| The Victory  -  Chapter
48
|
Contains 29 Verses – Medina    |

|

|

|

In
the Name of God, the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

|

| 1- | We have opened up a clear victory for you (O
Muhammad), |

|

| 2- | So that God may forgive your faults and sin of the
past and the future and complete His Blessing upon you (by giving you victory in
your defensive battle) and guide
you on a correct way.
|

|

| 3- | And that God may help you with an
overpowering help. |

|

| 4- | He is the One Who inspired down calmness
and inner peace into the hearts of the believers, so that they
have increase of faith along with their faith.
And of course the
forces in the heavens and the earth are in the service
of God;
and God is the Ever All Knowing, All Wise.
|

|

| 5- | His Intention is to admit the believing
men and the believing women into the Gardens (of Paradise), down
where rivers and streams flow, to stay there forever
and to cover off
their sins from them and in the view of God, that is the great
success.
|

|
| |

| 6- | And that He will punish the hypocritical
men and women and the men and women who associate others in
divine power with God,
who have an evil and wrong thought about God.
They
will be encircled by evil.
And the Condemnation of God is upon
them as He has cursed them (off His Blessing)
and prepared for
them the Hell and what an awful bad destination it is.
|

|

| 7- | Naturally all the forces in the heavens and the
earth are in the service of God and God is the Ever Dominant, All Wise.
|

|

| 8- | Certainly We have sent you (Muhammad) as a
witness and giver of good news (to the believers) and as a warner (to the evil doers).
|

|

| 9- | So that you will believe in God and His
Messenger and that you assist and honor Him (and His
Messenger) and glorify His Majesty, mornings and evenings.
|

|
| |

| 10- | Those who sincerely pledge allegiance
with you, they indeed are pledging allegiance to God, God’s Hand
(God Might) is over their hands.
Thereafter, whoever breaks his
pledge, does so against his own interests.
And whoever fulfills
what he promised to God, He will grant him a great reward.
|

|
| |

| 11- | These Bedouin Arabs who stayed behind
(and did not help in the defensive battle) would say: “Our
possessions and our families kept us busy, so ask forgiveness
for us”.
That is what they say with their tongues, something
which is not in their hearts.
Say to them: “Who then can
intervene or stop if God intends any harm or a benefit for you?”
(No one).
But in fact He Alone is Ever All Aware of what you do.
|

|

| 12- | You even thought that the Messenger and
the believers would never return (from the defensive battle) to
their families and this appeared fine in your hearts and you did
have an evil thought
and were a useless bunch of people.
|

|

| 13- | And whoever does not believe in God and
His Messenger, (should know) that We have prepared a blazing
Fire for the deniers of the truth, the disbelievers.
|

|

| 14- | And to God belongs the Mastery of the
heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He wants and punishes
whom He wants.
And God has ever been so Very Forgiving, Most
Merciful.
|

|
| |

| 15- | Those who stayed behind (and did not
participate in the defensive battle), just when you set up to
take the spoils, they will say: “Allow us to follow you”.
They
want to change God’s Verdict against them.
Tell them: “You are
not permitted to follow us. God has said so beforehand”.
Then
they would say: “Not so, but you are envious in keeping us
away (from our shares of victory)”.
But they in fact have no understanding of the
whole matter, except a little bit.
|

|

| |

| 16- | Say (O Muhammad) to those Bedouins who
stayed behind: “You shall be called to fight against a people
who are superior in severe warfare,
you shall have to fight them
on, or that they would surrender.
Then if you obey, God will give
you a nice reward.
But if you turn away, as you did before, He
will make you suffer a painful punishment”.
|

|
| |

| 17- | There is no duty or any hardship for the
blind or the lame or the sick (to
participate in battles) . And whoever obeys God and His
Messenger, He will admit that person to enter Gardens (of
Paradise),
down where streams and rivers flow.
And whoever turns
away (from God’s Commands),
He will make that person suffer a
painful punishment.
|

|

| 18- | Indeed, God was pleased with the
believers as they gave pledge al allegiance to you (Muhammad)
under the tree and He has known what was in their hearts,
He then
sent down calmness upon them and rewarded them an early victory.
|

|

| 19- | And many spoils, which they captured. And
God is the Ever Almighty, All Wise.
|

|
| |

| 20- | God had promised you lots of spoils,
which you would capture and He has already has expedited this (success) for you and He
kept peoples’ hands away from harming you
and this should be a lesson
for the believers and He guides you in the correct straight
path.
|

|

| 21- | There are also other challenges, which you do
not have yet within your power, but of course God has power over
them, as God is the Ever Able over all things.
|

|

| 22- | And if those who disbelieve start to
fight against you, they certainly would turn their backs, then
they will not find any protector, nor any helper.
|

|

| 23- | This has been the Way of God, which He
used before and you will not find any change in the Way of God. |

|

| 24- | And He is the One, Who keeps their hands
away from you and your hands away from them in the middle of
Mecca, after He made you victorious over them.
And God is the
Ever Observant over what you do.
|

|
| |

| 25- | Those are the ones who have disbelieved
and hindered you from the Sacred Mosque (in Mecca) and held off
the sacrificial animals from entering their place of sacrifice.
1
And had there
not been for the presence of some believing men and believing
women whom you did not know yet,
(in Mecca, living amongst the
disbelievers), if you had inadvertently killed them,
then a sin
would have been committed by you, on their account, without
(your) knowledge.
That protection has been that God may bring to
His Mercy whom He wants.
If they had been apart, We would surely have punished the
disbelievers of them with a painful suffering,
|

|
| |

| 26- | When the disbelievers put in
their minds, a sense of pride and force, a sense of pride and
force out of ignorance; still God placed in the Messenger and
the believers,
a sense of calmness and inner peace and had them
observe piety to the letter
and they were most entitled to and
worthy in that mindset
and God is the Ever All Knowing of all
matters and situations.
|

|
| |

| 27- | Certainly God made the dream of His
Messenger come true,
that you shall be entering the
Sacred Masque, Go willing, secure and safe, shaving your hairs
and or cutting it short (as part of the Hajj ritual),
without fearing (the disbeliever’s
attacks).
He also knew what you did not know yet, He then
provided beyond that an approaching Victory (for you).
2
|

|

| 28- | He is the One, Who sent His Messenger
with guidance and the true religion (Islam = submitting
yourselves to God), so that He may make it (Islam) evidently shine over all faiths.
And God is sufficient as Witness (for
this realization, as He knows the future).
|

|

| |

| 29- | Muhammad is the Messenger of God and
those with him, so that He may make it (Islam) evidently shine over all faiths. are firm
and forceful against the disbelievers and kind among
themselves.
You see them bowing down and prostrating their head
on the ground (in prayer),
seeking a favor from God and His
Acceptance,
you see their marks are on their faces (foreheads) from the
effect of prostrations.
That is their description in the Torah.
And their description in the Gospel is like a seed grown into a
shoot,
which then becomes strong and thick, standing straight up
on its stem,
delighting the farmers and encouraging by that
those who planted the seeds
(like the growing number of Muslims which pleases God),
whereas it makes the disbelievers angry.
God has promised those among them, who have behaved and have
done righteous good work,
a Forgiveness and
great reward.

to help needy people by it.
2A
ritual to shave or cut short their hairs at the Hajj- Pilgrimage.
