|
The Inevitable Event - Chapter 56 | Contains 96 verses – Mecca |
|
|
إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ |
|
1- |
When the Great Event (of Resurrection) takes place, |
|
لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ |
|
2- |
There could be no denial of its happening (by anyone), |
|
خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ |
|
3- |
Which brings down (the evils and sinners), while raising high the status (of the good ones), |
|
إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا |
|
4- |
When the earth will be shaken violently. |
|
وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا |
|
5- |
And the mountains will be powdered to dust. |
|
فَكَانَتْ هَبَاء مُّنبَثًّا |
|
6- |
So that they become floating dust particles. |
|
وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً |
|
7- |
And you will be in three groups, |
|
فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ |
|
8- |
As for the fortunate companions of Blessing (having their
record of deeds in their right hand), how nice it will be for the fortunate companions of Blessing? |
|
وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ |
|
9- |
And as for those unfortunate companions, those of the Left Hand Group (their records in
their left hand), how bad it will be for those unfortunate companions of the Left. |
|
وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ |
|
10- |
And those forerunners, who were far ahead (in their good deeds during their life time on earth), |
|
أُوْلَئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ |
|
11- |
These people will be the nearest and the dearest (to God). |
|
فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ |
|
12- |
They will be in the Gardens (of Paradise), high in blessings. |
|
ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ |
|
13- |
Many of them were from those (who embraced Islam) early on, |
|
وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ |
|
14- |
And a few of those (who embraced Islam) later on (during their lifetime, yet become foremost, far advanced). |
|
عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ |
|
15- |
They will be reclining on nicely decorated recliners, |
|
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ |
|
16- |
Reclining on, face to face (with good company). |
|
يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ |
|
17- |
Ever young boys, will be going around them, to serve them, |
|
بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ |
|
18- |
With cups, jugs and a bowl of flowing beverage, |
|
لَا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ |
|
19- |
From which they get neither headache, nor any intoxication, |
|
وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ |
|
20- |
And with any fruits that they choose. |
|
وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ |
|
21- |
And the flesh of any birds which they desire. |
|
وَحُورٌ عِينٌ |
|
22- |
Also there will be beautiful fair ladies with lovely eyes, |
|
كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ |
|
23- |
With beautiful colors of preserved pearls. |
|
جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ |
|
24- |
These are all, as a reward for what they used to do. |
|
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا |
|
25- |
They do not hear any dirty talk, nonsense, nor any sinful speech, |
|
إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا |
|
26- |
But talk of peace and peace (Salaam, which means peace and it is also one of the names of God Who gives peace), |
|
وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ |
|
27- |
As regarding the companion of the Right Hand, how nice will for the Companions on the Right? |
|
فِي سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ |
|
28- |
They will be among thornless lote-trees (beautiful shade trees), |
|
وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ |
|
29- |
And among banana trees with branches piled up with fruits, |
|
وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ |
|
30- |
And in long-extended shades |
|
وَمَاء مَّسْكُوبٍ |
|
31- |
And by constantly flowing water |
|
وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ |
|
32- |
And plenty of fruits, |
|
لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ |
|
33- |
The supply of which is neither interrupted (by any season), nor unreachable or forbidden |
|
وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ |
|
34- |
And highly regarded ladies, |
|
إِنَّا أَنشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنشَاء |
|
35- |
We have indeed designed and created them (the lovely young ladies) with a new and special creation. |
|
فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا |
|
36- |
And made them virgins (with pure qualities), |
|
عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا |
|
37- |
Exclusively loving their husbands, which are of similar age, |
|
لِّأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ |
|
38- |
For the Companions on the Right, |
|
ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ |
|
39- |
Many (of them who were) from the early generations. |
|
وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ |
|
40- |
And many from the later generations. |
|
وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ |
|
41- |
But as for those of the Left Hand Group (with their
records of deeds in their left hand), what about those of the Left hand Group? |
|
فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ |
|
42- |
They will be in fiercely blowing hot winds and boiling water, |
|
وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ |
|
43- |
And in the shade of black smoke |
|
لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ |
|
44- |
Which is neither cool, nor pleasant. |
|
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ |
|
45- |
Whereas they had in fact a comfortable life before (on earth). |
|
وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنثِ الْعَظِيمِ |
|
46- |
And they persisted in the great sin (of associating partners with God and worshipping them, besides other sins) |
|
وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَئِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ |
|
47- |
And they used to say: “when we are dead and become dust, do we really get resurrected?” |
|
أَوَ آبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ |
|
48- |
“Our forefathers also?” |
|
قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ |
|
49- |
Say to them: “Certainly all those, earlier and later generations.” |
|
لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَى مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ |
|
50- |
“All surely will be gathered to the appointed Meeting place at the Predetermined Time (by God).” |
|
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ |
|
51- |
“Then you, who are the deviated deniers”, |
|
51- سپس (به آنها فرموده میشود:) " ای گمراهان تكذیبكنندهی راستیها "، |
|
لَآكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ |
|
52- |
“you will of course be eating from the fruit of Zaqqum”. |
|
فَمَالِؤُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ |
|
53- |
“And you will fill your bellies with that.” |
|
فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ |
|
54- |
“Then you will drink boiling water on top of it.” |
|
فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ |
|
55- |
“And you will be drinking (from it) like thirsty camels.” |
|
هَذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ |
|
56- |
That will be their situation on the Day of Reckoning. |
|
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ |
|
57- |
We have created you, why don’t you then testify (to this fact)? |
|
أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ |
|
58- |
Have you ever observed that which you pour out (as semen)? |
|
أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ |
|
59- |
Do you create that or We are the Creator of it? |
|
نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ |
|
60- |
We have decreed (decided) death upon you and We will not be outrun or outdone (you can not get away from death), |
|
عَلَى أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ |
|
61- |
In the way that We could replace you or change your shapes and create you in new forms which you do not know. |
|
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَى فَلَوْلَا تَذكَّرُونَ |
|
62- |
And indeed you have got to know about the first creation (of yours); why don’t you then think about it? |
|
أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ |
|
63- |
Have you ever observed the seeds that you sow in the ground? |
|
أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ |
|
64- |
Do you make it grow or We are the Grower? |
|
لَوْ نَشَاء لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ |
|
65- |
If We decide, We could certainly make it into dry crumbles and you will be amazed. |
|
إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ |
|
66- |
(then you would say:) “we lost everything. “ |
|
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ |
|
67- |
“Worst yet: we are deprived.” |
|
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاء الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ |
|
68- |
Have you ever observed the water that you drink? |
|
أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنزِلُونَ |
|
69- |
Are you the ones who sent it down from the rain clouds or are We the Real Cause of it to rain it down? |
|
لَوْ نَشَاء جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ |
|
70- |
If We had willed, We would have made it salty and bad tasting, So why don’t you give thanks (to God)? |
|
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ |
|
71- |
Have you ever observed the fire which you kindle? |
|
أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِؤُونَ |
|
72- |
Were you the one who made its fuel origin from the trees or are We the Designer and the Creator of it? |
|
نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ |
|
73- |
We have made it as a reminder (in many
respects) and as an article of use to propel and move powered vehicles (for travelers as well). 1 |
|
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ |
|
74- |
So do glorify by mentioning the Name of your Lord, the Most great. |
|
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ |
|
75- |
And I do not swear about the times and occasions of the gradual unfolding of the Revelations and the stars. |
|
وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ |
|
76- |
As it is indeed a great testament, if you but knew it. |
|
إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ |
|
77- |
That it is indeed a Noble Quran, which is an Honorable Reading, |
|
فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ |
|
78- |
In a Book, well preserved (being gradually revealed to Muhammad), |
|
لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ |
|
79- |
No one can feel it (and understand its true meaning) except the purified ones. |
|
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
|
80- |
A revelation sent down from the Lord of Worlds. |
|
أَفَبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ |
|
81- |
Do you regard this Speech (of God) lightly? |
|
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ |
|
82- |
And you make it as a means of income by denying and bad mouthing it? 2 |
|
فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ |
|
83- |
Why then can’t you do anything when the breath of the dying person stops at his throat? |
|
وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ |
|
84- |
And while you are watching (and you can not do anything about it). |
|
وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ |
|
85- |
We are nearer to him than you, but you can not see (God). |
|
فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ |
|
86- |
Why then, if you (believe that you) have exemption from reckoning, |
|
تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ |
|
87- |
Bring the soul back to its body, if you are being truthful. |
|
فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ |
|
88- |
Then if any person is one of those who is very close to God, |
|
فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّةُ نَعِيمٍ |
|
89- |
He will then have happiness, pleasant inner feeling and the Garden full of blessings (in the Paradise). |
|
وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ |
|
90- |
And if the person is of the Right Hand companions Groups, |
|
فَسَلَامٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ |
|
91- |
Then he or she will told: "Peace and greetings from the Right Hand companions Group to you". |
|
وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ |
|
92- |
But if the person is one of those who kept denying the truth and was far away from the truth, |
|
فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ |
|
93- |
The offering down to them will be of boiling water (burning despair), |
|
وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ |
|
94- |
And reaching of the Hell-Fire. |
|
إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ |
|
95- |
This is of course the certain truth. |
|
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ |
|
96- |
So glorify God with praising the Name of your Lord, The Most Great |
