Gilani |
Iron - Chapter
57
| Contains 29 verses – Medina |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful |
|
|
1- |
All that is in the heavens and earth
glorifies God, and He is the Almighty, All Wise. |
|
2- |
His is the Kingdom of the heavens and the
earth.
He gives life and causes death.
And He is Capable and
Determinant on all things. |
|
3- |
He is the First and Everlasting, His Might
is Present and Evident, yet He is Unseen.
And He has full knowledge
of every thing. |
|
4- |
He is the One who has created the heavens and
the earth in six periods
and brought also order and harmony
to the Dominion (in the control of the heavens and the earth).
He knows what goes into the earth and what
comes out of it
and what comes down from the sky and what goes
up into it.
And He is always with you wherever you are and God
is All Observant of what you do. |
|
5- |
The Kingdom of the heavens and the earth is
His; and all the Decisions are up to Him. |
|
6- |
He makes the night merge into the day time
and the day merge into the night time
(every day and night and in the
gradual lengthening or shortening of days or nights by season).
And He has full knowledge of the innermost of what people have
inside their chests (hearts and minds). |
|
7- |
Believe in God and His Messenger and spend in
charity of what He has made you the trustees of it.
So those of
you who have believed and spent in charity (helping the needy
and in the Cause of God),
they will have a
great reward. |
|
8- |
And what is the matter with you who don’t
believe in God while His Messenger is inviting you to believe in
your Lord
and He took your covenant (promise) that you will be
of the real believers. |
|
9- |
He is the One, Who sends down clear lessons
and revelations to get you out of darkness (of ignorance) into
the light.
And God has been really Very Kind, Most Merciful to
you. |
|
10- |
Furthermore what is the matter with you that
you don’t spend in the Cause of God?
Even though ultimately all the heritage
of the heavens and the earth belongs to God.
Those who
spent in the way of God before the conquest (of Mecca) and fought
before that, are not the same
(as those who spent and fought later), they have higher status (before
God) than those who spent and fought afterwards.
But to all of
them, God has promised Goodness (in the Hereafter) and God is
All Aware of what you do. |
|
11- |
Whoever lends a good loan (in charity) to
God, He will increase it many times in repayment
and that person will have a generous reward. |
|
12- |
There shall be the Day when you will see the
believing men and women,
as their light running forward before them (and guiding
them)
and by their right hand side, (it will be said:) ”You are given
good news today of the Gardens
down
where streams and rivers flow (in Paradise),
you will be
residing there forever. Now that is the Great Success”. |
|
13- |
On the Day when hypocrites, men and women
alike will be telling the believers:
“Look at us, so we can get
some of your light”
They will be told: “Go back beyond (your
post), then search for a light (which you did not have),
1
at which time a wall of
separation will be put between them, with a gate,
inside which
there is Mercy and outside of it, there will suffering from
their past (bad behavior). |
|
14- |
They (the hypocrites) will call them (the
believers): “Weren’t we together with you (on the earth)?”
The believers will
answer: “Yes, but you let yourselves to be tempted and chose the
way to your destruction
and doubted (the Truth of the Hereafter) and your excessive
desires deceived you
till the Command of God (for your destiny) came to pass
and the chief deception (Satan) deceived you about (the Word of)
God.” |
|
15- |
So now, no bail or ransom can be taken
neither from you (the hypocrites),
nor from those who disbelieved (in the Oneness of God and
worshipped others).
Your staying place is the Fire (of Hell), that is your proper
companion place which is an awful destination.” |
|
16- |
Isn’t it time for the believers that their
hearts be humbled by the Reminder of God (this Quran)
and that
which had been sent down as the Revelation of the Truth
and that
they should not become like those who were given the Scripture
before (like the Torah and the Gospel)?
And then time passed on them
(without observing God’s Commandments), so their hearts
hardened.
As a result, many of them are disobedient to God. |
|
17- |
Know for sure that God revives the earth and
the land after its death.
Indeed we have made it clear to you
(in many Verses), so that you would use your reasoning and understand. |
|
18- |
Certainly those men and women who give in the
Way of God and practically lend a good (charitable) loan to God,
it (their charity) shall be increased many times for them and
they will have a generous and nice reward. |
|
19- |
And those who have believed in God and His
Messengers, they are considered as real truthful ones, the
witnesses
and the
martyrs (who gave their lives in the way of God) will have their reward and their light by their Lord.
But those who have disbelieved, denied (Our Verses of
Revelation),
they shall be companions, inhabitants of the
blazing Fire. |
|
20- |
(O mankind) Know that the life of the world is full
of play and senseless amusement,
excessive decoration and boastful
arrogance among yourselves
and greed in accumulating ever more wealth and children (but it does not last,)
similar to the effect of rain on vegetation growth, which makes
those who planted the seeds, happy, but then it dries up,
so you see it turning yellow, later it becomes straw.
Also in the Hereafter life, there is severe suffering for the
evil ones while there will be
Forgiveness and Acceptance
(of repentance and good deeds of the believers) by God.
And the life of this world is only a means of
deception (by Satan). |
|
21- |
Compete with each other (by good deeds)
towards a Forgiveness and life in a Garden (of Paradise),
the size of which
is as grand as the width of the heavens and the earth,
already prepared
for those who have believed in God and His Messengers.
That is
the Grace of God which He grants on whomever He wants (and the
person who strives for it).
And God is the Absolute Owner of Grace. |
|
22- |
No calamity ever happens on earth, nor in your
own beings,
but that is all in a "Book of Decrees" before We
make it happen.
That is of course easy for God. |
|
23- |
That is to say that you should not grieve at
the things or opportunities that you lost or missed
and that you
do not become overjoyed (with pride, but rather be grateful to
God) at the things that was given to you;
as God does not like any proud boasting individuals. |
|
24- |
Those kind of people who are miserly (those
who refuse helping needy people) and tell other people to be
miserly also.
And whoever turns away (from God’s Commandment to
give in charity, should know)
then that God is Rich (without any
needs), Worthy of all praises. |
|
25- |
We indeed sent our Messengers with clear
explanations and revealed by them the Books (Scriptures)
and the balance of Justice, so that people would rise up for justice
and fairness.
And We sent down the iron, in which there is
possibility of strong material to harm (in battles)
as well as many benefits for people,
2 3
and (by its use), God will bring to light who is helping His
cause and His Messengers in unseen and unnoticed situations
(such as a believer somewhere in defensive battles).
Truly God is the Mighty, the
Irresistible. |
|
26- |
And indeed We did send Noah and Abraham and
placed prophethood and Scripture among their offspring.
And among
them (the offspring), there have been those who accepted the guidance,
but many
of them have been disobedient (to God's Commandments). |
|
27- |
Then, to follow their traditions (to worship
God Alone), We sent Our Messengers
and We sent Jesus, son of
Mary and granted him the Gospel
and put kindness and mercy in the hearts of
those who followed him.
But the monastic
seclusion (living in Monasteries and not marrying) that they invented,
4
We did not prescribe for them,
except that in that way, (they tried) to please
God,
however, they did not observe it with
the right way of observance.
Then We gave those among them who
had believed, their due reward,
but many of them are disobedient
(to God's Commandments). |
|
28- |
O you who have believed, be ever conscious of God
and also believe in His
Messenger (Muhammad).
He will give a double portion of His Mercy
(for believing in the previous Messengers and also in this
Messenger, Muhammad)
and He will give you a light by which you
could walk (the correct path)
and He will forgive you.
And God is Very
Forgiving, Most Merciful. |
|
29- |
This is for the people of the Scripture (the
Jews and the Christians) to know that
they do not have any
exclusive power
or access to the Grace of God
and that Grace is only in the Hand
(Power) of God,
Who grants it to whomever He wants
and God is the owner of Great Grace. |
