|
Friday - Chapter 62 | Contains 11 verses – Medina |
|
|
يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ |
|
1- |
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on
the earth, glorify God, the True King, the Holy, the Almighty-Irresistible, the All Wise. |
|
هُوَ الَّذِي بَعَثَ فِي الْأُمِّيِّينَ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا مِن قَبْلُ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ |
|
2- |
He is the One, Who made a messenger
(Muhammad) rise up from among the unlettered people (of Mecca),
reading to them His Verses of Revelation, to purify and cleanse them and to teach them the Book (Quran) and wisdom, even though previously they had been in evident error and in the wrong direction. |
|
وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ |
|
3- |
Furthermore there are others of them (future
Muslims) who have not joined them yet (but will join later). And He is Ever the Almighty (Irresistible), the All Wise. |
|
ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ |

4- |
That is a Favor and Grace of God which he
grants on whom He wills. And God has great range of Grace. |
|
مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ حُمِّلُوا التَّوْرَاةَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحْمِلُوهَا كَمَثَلِ الْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفَارًا بِئْسَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ |
|
5- |
The similarity of those (the Jews) who had
been given the obligation of following the Torah, but then failed those obligations, is the likeness of a donkey which carries a bunch of books (yet unaware of their content). Of course the likeness of people who deny as lies the Verses of Revelation of God, is very bad. And God does not guide unjust, evil doing people. |
|
قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ هَادُوا إِن زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاء لِلَّهِ مِن دُونِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا الْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ |
|
6- |
(O Muhammad) say: “O you Jewish people, If
you are imagining that in fact you are friends of God,
excluding other people, then long for death (if you think that you could have a better life afterwards), if you are being truthful. |
|
وَلَا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُ أَبَدًا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمِينَ |

7- |
But they will never long for death, because
of what (misdeeds) their hands have sent ahead (for their
Hereafter life). And God knows well those who are the unjust wrongdoers. |
|
قُلْ إِنَّ الْمَوْتَ الَّذِي تَفِرُّونَ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ مُلَاقِيكُمْ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
|
8- |
Say (to them): “In fact the very death which
you try to flee from, shall certainly reach you. You will then be sent back to God, the All Knower of the unseen and the visible, He will then inform you of what you had been doing.” |
|
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نُودِي لِلصَّلَاةِ مِن يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |
|
9- |
O you who believe, When the call is made for
the Friday prayer, then hurry up (and come) for the remembrance of God and leave off any business (temporarily). That is better for you if you only would know it. |
|
فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَانتَشِرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَابْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ |
|
10- |
Then when the prayer is finished, you may
then disperse in the land and seek of God’s favor (in your activities and occupations) and remember God frequently, so that you will be happy and successful. |
|
وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا قُلْ مَا عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِّنَ اللَّهْوِ وَمِنَ التِّجَارَةِ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ |
|
11- |
But as it happens, when they see some
(interesting) merchandise or some amusement (being played
nearby), they depart towards it and leave you (Muhammad) standing (delivering the Friday – Prayer Sermon). Say: “Whatever is with God (the Blessing of God), is better and more important than any amusement and business and God is the Best of providers”. |
