The wrapped up Person - Chapter 74
| Contains 56 verses – Makka |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful |
|
|
1- |
O you (Muhammad) who are wrapped up, at rest. |
2- |
Rise up and warn (mankind). |
3- |
And praise the Greatness of your Lord. |
4- |
And clean up your clothes. |
5- |
And keep away from impurity and filth. |
|
6- |
And do not mention the favor that you do, in
order to expect to get more. |
7- |
And be patient for the sake of your Lord. |
|
8- |
Then when the massive sound will be blown, |
|
9- |
Then that will be the Difficult Day (of
Judgment), |
|
10- |
Far from easy for the disbelievers, deniers. |
|
11- |
Let Me to deal with those whom I created
Alone. |
|
12- |
To whom I also provided extended wealth at
his disposal, |
13- |
And children to be by his side, |
|
14- |
And made life nice and smooth for him. |
|
15- |
Yet he desires that I should give more. |
|
16- |
Not so. He was indeed opposing Our Verses and
Messages. |
17- |
I shall make him go up against hard times to
come. |
|
18- |
Since he thought and plotted (against Our
Commandments). |
19- |
So he will be down, because of the way he
plotted and determined (how to do it). |
|
20- |
Once more he will go down and be killed, because the way he
plotted. |
21- |
Then he observed and looked around. |
22- |
He then frowned and looked angrily. |
|
23- |
Then he turned back and behaved arrogantly. |
|
24- |
He then said: “This (the Quran) is nothing
but magic, influenced (by others)”. |
|
25- |
“This is nothing but the word of a human
being”. |
26- |
I shall soon throw him into the Hell Fire. |
|
27- |
And what do you understand (what makes you
understand) what the Hell Fire
is? |
28- |
It does not leave or spare (any sinner,
deserving it). |
|
30- |
Over it, there are nineteen (guards). |
|
31- |
And We appointed only angels as guards of the
Fire.
And We also made their number (19) as a trial for the
disbelievers,
so that the people of Scripture (Jews, Christians) may gain
certainty,
and that it will increase in the faith of the believers,
and that no doubt be left for the people of Scripture, nor for
the believers,
but those in whose hearts, there is a disease (of hypocrisy),
will say:
“What did God mean with this example?”
That is how God lets astray whomever He wants to, and He guides
whom He wants (and he wants).
And no one knows the armies of your Lord, except He Himself.
And this whole Message is nothing but a Reminder for mankind. |
32- |
It is so, and not otherwise.
Consider the
moon. |
|
33- |
And the night when it withdraws. |
|
34- |
And the down of the day when it brightens. |
|
35- |
That it (the Quran) is one of the greatest
phenomena. |
36- |
A warner for the entire mankind. |
|
37- |
For anyone of you, willing to go forward with
it or delay its benefit and remain behind. |
|
38- |
Every person is held responsible and ransom
for what he or she has earned (by his or her deeds). |
|
39- |
Except those on the Right (Path ,who will
have their book of deeds on judgment Day in their right hands). |
|
40- |
In the Gardens (of Paradise), they will be
asking each other. |
41- |
About the habitual sinners-criminals. |
|
42- |
(they will ask:) “What caused you to get into
the Hell?” |
|
43- |
They will say: “We were not willing to pray”. |
|
44- |
“And we were not used to feed the poor”. |
|
45- |
“And we used to talk nonsense with vain
talkers”. |
|
46- |
“And we kept on denying the Day of Judgment,
calling it a
lie”. |
|
47- |
“Until the certainty of it came”. |
|
48- |
So no intercession of any intercessors could
be of any use to them. |
|
49- |
So what is wrong with them that they turn
away from the Reminder (the Quran)? |
|
50- |
As if they were donkeys, who were frightened, |
51- |
Fleeing from a hunter or a beast of pray, a
lion. |
|
52- |
As if every one of them wants to be given pages
(by God directly), spread out for them. |
|
53- |
By no means, the fact is that they do not fear the
Hereafter (Judgment). |
|
54- |
Yet it (the Quran) is really a true Reminder. |
55- |
So whoever wants, let him remember it. |
|
56- |
And they won’t receive the benefit of it or
be mindful of it, unless God wills it;
as He is the Patron of piety (of pious people) and Blissful with
Forgiving.

God guides good people, not unjust ones. Even if good people made
mistakes or have sinned, they can ask God for forgiveness, as He is
Very Forgiving.
