Mankind
- Chapter
76
| Contains 31 verses – Makka |
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful |
|
|
1- |
Wasn't there a period of time, during which
mankind was nothing yet to be mentioned of? |
|
2- |
Surely We created mankind from a 'Nutfah', a
mixture of discharge (meaning mixed cell
of male and female),
We test him to give him a chance to prove himself (or herself) and
for that reason,
We made
him (and her) able to hear and to see. |
|
|
3- |
We have in fact showed him the way, it is up
to him to be whether grateful or ungrateful. |
|
4- |
We have indeed already prepared chains, yokes
and blazing Fire for the rejecters, unbelievers (for their
Afterlife). |
|
|
5- |
Surely the righteous persons (in Paradise)
drink from a cup, the flavor of which is like camphor. |
|
|
6- |
A fountain which the servants of God drink
from.
They make its water gush up real good.
1 |
|
7- |
They are the ones who fulfill their vows (and
their promises to God)
and fear the Day (of Reckoning), the distress of which will be
overpowering and widespread, |
|
8- |
And for the love of Him, they feed the needy,
the orphan, and the captive. |
|
9- |
Saying: “We feed you only for the sake of
God, we do not desire any reward or thanks from you”. |
|
10- |
"We surely fear from our Lord, a severe
distressful Day". |
|
11- |
So God will save them from the calamity of
that Day and grant upon them radiant beauty and joy. |
|
12- |
And He (God) will reward them for their patience
with a garden (in Paradise) and clothes of silk. |
|
13- |
They will be reclining on raised chairs, not
experiencing there (any heat of) the sun, nor any bitter cold. |
|
14- |
And low trees with their shades will be over
them and with their fruits bunches very low, (easy to see and to pick). |
|
15- |
And they will be served with vessels
(bottles) of silver and cups of crystal. |
|
16- |
Crystals containing silver, which they
determine its size and amount
(which size vessels and cups they want and
how much). |
|
17- |
And they will be given a cup of drink there, the flavor of
which will be ginger. |
|
18- |
From a spring there, named Salsabeel. |
|
19- |
And around them will be serving, perpetually
young persons,
whom when you see, you think as if they are of pearls,
scattered. |
|
20- |
And when you look, you see then plenty of
blessings and a great Kingdom (of God). |
|
21- |
Upon them will be green garments of fine silk
with heavy brocade
and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver and their Lord
will give them a drink,
very pure and purifying. |
|
22- |
(They will be told:) "This is indeed a reward
for you and your efforts
and your striving have been accepted and appreciated”. |
|
23- |
Surely We (God) have sent down the Verses of
the Quran to you (Muhammad) in stages. |
|
24- |
Therefore be patient and constant with the
Command of your Lord
and do not obey any of them who are sinful or ungrateful. |
|
25- |
And do remember and mention that Name of your
Lord, mornings and in the evening. |
|
|
26- |
And during the night, bow down prostrating
yourself to Him and pray,
praising Him a long part of the night. |
|
27- |
These people really love the fleeting life
and neglect and put beyond them a Day (of Judgment)
which is very important and grave. |
|
28- |
We have created them and made their joints
strong and whenever We decide,
We can put others like them in their place. |
|
29- |
This (the Quran) is truly a Reminder, so that
everyone can find a Way to his (or her) Lord. |
|
30- |
But ultimately you can not decide except that
God wants (to guide you),
since certainly God is the All Knowing, All Wise. |
|
31- |
He admits whomever He wants into His Mercy,
but for the unjust cruel people,
He has already prepared a painful punishment. |
1
It also means the fountain of knowledge which the servants of God
cause, by their research and teaching, cause to spring up, for their
own use and for the benefit of others.
