|
The Great Announcement - Chapter 78 | Contains 40 verses – Makka |
|
|
عَمَّ يَتَسَاءلُونَ |
|
1- |
What are they asking each other about? |
|
عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ |
|
2- |
About the Great News, |
|
الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ |
|
3- |
About which they disagree. |
|
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ |
|
4- |
Nevertheless they will know. |
|
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ |
|
5- |
But then they will come to know! |
|
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا |
|
6- |
(Don’t they see) How We made the earth as a place of rest? |
|
وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا |
|
7- |
And the mountains as huge pegs (for the stability of the earth)? |
|
وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا |
|
8- |
And We have created you in pairs. |
|
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا |
|
9- |
And We have made your sleep as a means of rest. |
|
وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا |
|
10- |
And We have made the night a covering (from the bright sunlight, noise, etc.). |
|
وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا |
|
11- |
And We have made the day for making a living. |
|
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا |
|
12- |
And We have built above you seven strong (layers of the sky). |
|
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا |
|
13- |
And We have placed a shining lamp (the sun in the space). |
|
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاء ثَجَّاجًا |
|
14- |
And We have sent down plenty of water from the rain clouds, |
|
لِنُخْرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا |
|
15- |
To produce grains and vegetables by it. |
|
وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًا |
|
16- |
As well as gardens of thick vegetation. |
|
إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا |
|
17- |
Certainly the time and date of the Day of
Separation (of good and bad at Resurrection) has already been fixed (by God). |
|
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا |
|
18- |
The Day when the Trumpet (for Resurrection) will be blown and you shall come as crowds wave after wave. |
|
وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاء فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا |
|
19- |
And the sky shall be opened, so as to provide doors. |
|
وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا |
|
20- |
And the mountains will be moved, so that they then appear as a mirage. |
|
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا |
|
21- |
Certainly Hell is a place of ambush, (to draw and), |
|
لِلْطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا |
|
22- |
To be the staying place for those who violate God’s Commandments. |
|
لَابِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا |
|
23- |
They will linger there for ages. |
|
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا |
|
24- |
They will taste there nothing cool, nor any drink. |
|
إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا |
|
25- |
Except boiling water and dirty wound discharges. |
|
جَزَاء وِفَاقًا |
|
26- |
An exact payback (for their crimes). |
|
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا |
|
27- |
They in fact were the ones who did not expect any Reckoning. |
|
وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّابًا |
|
28- |
And they strongly called Our Verses of Revelation as lies. |
|
وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَابًا |
|
29- |
And We have recorded every thing in a Book of Records. |
|
فَذُوقُوا فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا |
|
30- |
(They will be told:) "So taste (the
consequences of your deeds), as We do not give you (criminal sinners) any increase except in suffering. |
|
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا |
|
31- |
Of course for the pious God conscious
persons, there will be the moment and place of success (Paradise). |
|
حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا |
|
32- |
Gardens and vineyards (of different grapes). |
|
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا |
|
33- |
And mature nice pleasant maidens of similar age. |
|
وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا |
|
34- |
And a cup of nice drink. |
|
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّابًا |
|
35- |
There they will not hear any evil talk, nor listen to any liars. |
|
جَزَاء مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَاء حِسَابًا |
|
36- |
As a reward from your Lord, a calculated gift. |
|
رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرحْمَنِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا |
|
37- |
The Lord of the heavens and earth and all
between them, the Most Gracious (God), from Whom they have no authority to address (anyone). |
|
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرحْمَنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا |
|
38- |
The Day when the Spirit
(the angel Gabriel) and the other angels will be standing in rows, they will not speak, except those to whom Permission was given by the Most Gracious (God) and he (the angel) will say only that which is right and proper. |
|
ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ فَمَن شَاء اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ مَآبًا |
|
39- |
That is the Day for the manifestation of the
truth. So anyone who wants (to ultimately succeed), can take a way towards his (or her) Lord (and not against His Commandments). |
|
إِنَّا أَنذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَابًا |

40- |
Truly We have warned you (mankind) of a
calamity about to happen, a Day when a man will see what he sent ahead with his hands (by his deeds for his Future) and the disbeliever shall say: “Woe, too bad for me, I wish I were dust”. |
