|
1- |
When the sun is folded up, implodes (and
loses its light). |
|
2- |
And when the stars become darkened and
scattered, |
|
3- |
And when the mountains are set in motion, |
|
4- |
And when the she-camels (so appreciated by
their owners) are left neglected and disregarded, |
|
5- |
And when the wild beasts get herded together, |
|
6- |
And when the sea boil over with fire, |
|
7- |
And when the similar souls are joined in
company. |
|
8- |
And when the girl infant who was buried
alive is asked,
(people such as pagan Arabs, before Islam, buried many of their
infant girls a live), |
9- |
“For what sin was she killed?” |
|
10- |
And when the pages of Records of deeds of
everyone are laid open. |
|
11- |
And when the sky is stripped off, |
|
12- |
And when the Hell-Fire is set ablaze. |
|
13- |
And when the Garden (of Paradise) is brought ever nearer
(to pious people). |
|
14- |
Then every person shall know what he (or she)
has brought forth (for his Afterlife). |
|
15- |
So consider, by those (stars) which
orbit, appear, recede and disappear. |
16- |
Those which run their course and set and
disappear. |
|
17- |
And by the night as it leaves (its darkness
decreases), |
|
18- |
And the morning, as it becomes ever brighter. |
|
19- |
That truly this (Quran) is the Word brought
by the honorable messenger (angel Gabriel). |
|
20- |
Given power (by God and) in high esteem in
the Presence of the Lord of the Universe. |
21- |
Well obeyed (by other angels), moreover
trustworthy. |
|
22- |
And that your companion (Muhammad) is not a
madman. |
|
23- |
He (Muhammad) indeed saw him (the Angel
Gabriel) in the clear horizon. |
|
24- |
And he is not about to withhold information
about the normally invisible entity. |
|
25- |
And it (the Quran) is not the word of Satan,
the outcast. |
26- |
So which way are you going to choose? |
|
27- |
Certainly it (the Quran) is just a Reminder
to all people of the world. |
|
28- |
For whomever among you who wishes to become
upright. |
|
29- |
But you can not just will, unless God so
wills, the Lord of the worlds. |
