|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
ذ |
|
1- |
Observe by the dawn of the day |
2- |
And the Ten Nights
1
(the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan or the ten nights
of the month of Pilgrimage) , |
3- |
And the even and the odd, |
4- |
And the night as it runs out its course. |
|
5- |
In all these, is there an occasion for
realization and any oath for the mindful
person? |
|
6- |
Haven’t you observed how your Lord dealt with
the (sinful) people of Aad? |
7- |
In the city of Iram with tall columns, |
|
8- |
The like of which were not created in any
other cities. |
|
9- |
And the people of Thamood, who hewed out
rocks, at the valley (to build grand buildings) |
|
10- |
And the Pharaoh with his high buildings (his
pyramids) |
|
11- |
Who violated the limits set by God, in the
lands, |
|
12- |
And caused much corruption in there. |
|
13- |
Therefore your Lord hit them with different
kinds of suffering. |
|
14- |
Certainly your Lord is Ever-Watchful. |
|
15- |
As for the mankind, when his Lord tests him
by giving him status and plenty, he says:
“My Lord has honored me”. |
|
|
16- |
But when He tests and tries him by limiting
his means of livelihood, he says:” My Lord has humiliated me.” |
|
17- |
It is not so, but you do not honor
the rights and needs of the orphans. |
|
18- |
And you do not urge each other about feeding
the poor. |
|
19- |
And you devour and consume the inheritance
(of others) all with greed. |
|
20- |
And you love wealth with an excessive love. |
|
21- |
That is not right, consider when the earth is
crushed with crushing upon crushing. |
|
22- |
And the presence of your Lord is felt and the
angels are noted in many rows (on Judgment Day). |
|
23- |
And the Hell is brought in sight, visible on
that Day.
Then the mankind will remember (what he or she was told
about the Judgment Day),
but how is that remembrance going to be of any use to him or
her? |
|
24- |
He (or she) will say: ”What a pity, I wish I
had sent ahead good deeds for this life of mine”. |
|
25- |
So on that Day no one can punish as He
(God) punishes. |
|
26- |
And no one can hold accountable and bind like
His binding. |
|
27- |
(The pious will be told :) “O you the person
blessed with certainty in faith”. |
|
28- |
“Come back to your Lord, well-pleased (with
His Blessings) and being pleased by Him (because of your
deeds)”. |
29- |
“So enter among My good servants,” |
30- |
“And enter My Garden (of Paradise)”. |
1-
The last Ten Nights of the month of Ramadan, an especial occasion to
meditate and to worship God, the Creator of all.
