The Sun - Chapter 91                                       |                                     Contains 15 verses – Makka

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

1-

Consider the sun and its brightness.

2-

And the moon as it shows up, reflecting its light
(similar to the light of the sun when it reflects from a body of water or glass) .

3-

And the day as it shows brightly its wonderful effects (of light on earth)

4-

And the night as it covers it with darkness.

5-

And the sky and its wonderful make and components.

6-

And the earth and the reason for it becoming spread-out.

7-

And consider the human mind and the formula for its harmony and balance (the causes of mental health).

8-

He (God) also inspired it with (the conscience and the understanding of)
what is wrong and what is right for it (for the mind).

9-

Of course anyone who purifies it (the mind), will succeed in being happy.

10-

And indeed anyone who corrupts it, will fail and will be ruined, disappointed.

11-

The people of Thamood rejected and called their prophet a liar by their rebellious behavior.

12-

As the most wicked of them rose up
(against God’s Command and harmed a she-camel which God, as a matter of trial, had ordered them not to harm her).

13-

But the Messenger of God (Saleh) had told them: “It is a she-camel, which belongs to God,
(having come from wilderness) and let her have its drinking water”.

14-

But then they called him a liar and harmed her.
So their Lord, because of their sin, crushed them and leveled them to the ground.

15-

And none of them had any fear of its coming consequence (and God had no fear of its consequence).
