The Elephant
- Chapter 105
| Contains 5 verses – Makka |
|
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ
الرَّحِيمِ |
|
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful |
|
|
أَلَمْ تَرَ
كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ |
|
|
1- |
Haven’t you become aware of how your Lord
dealt with the companions of the elephant
(The elephant army which came from Yemen to destroy Kaaba in
Mecca)? |
|
أَلَمْ
يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ |
|
|
2- |
Did He not put their plan (of attack) in
confusion and disarray? |
|
وَأَرْسَلَ
عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ |
|
|
3- |
And He sent upon them flocks of birds, |
|
تَرْمِيهِم
بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ |
|
|
4- |
Striking and dropping upon them stones of
baked clay (in their beaks), |
|
فَجَعَلَهُمْ
كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍ |
|
|
5- |
So that He made them look like a field of
hay, chewed down to pieces. |
