The Flame
- Chapter 111
| Contains 5 verses – Makka |
|
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ
الرَّحِيمِ |
|
|
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful |
|
|
تَبَّتْ
يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ |
|
|
1- |
Doomed are the two hands of Abu Lahab (an
uncle and enemy of the Prophet Muhammad) and he is doomed. |
|
مَا أَغْنَى
عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ |
|
|
2- |
Neither his wealth, nor whatever he has
gained (in influence or fame or whatever) will benefit him |
|
سَيَصْلَى
نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ |
|
|
3- |
As he will enter to endure a Fire with
fierce flame (in Hell). |
|
وَامْرَأَتُهُ
حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ |
|
|
4- |
With his wife is the carrier of the thorny
fire wood (which she used to put on the path of the prophet Muhammad), |
|
فِي جِيدِهَا
حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍ |
|
|
5- |
She will have a rope of palm-leaf fibers around
their neck (to carry her to hell). |
